But what does it depend upon?

The price of DCR? Number of trx? How can you be sure it will drop Smiley

Sorry for the noob questions  Undecided

Take a look at the "POS Pool Size" here: https://dcrstats.com/

That's how many live tickets there are. I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong) the target number for that is 4096. So, when the pool size is larger than the target and difficulty adjustment happens, the ticket price goes up. If its lower, the price goes down. Obviously it's more complex than that, but that's the jist of it.

Ok,

thx I think I get it Smiley

But if more and more people were to use DCR and participate in the pool (which is what we all believe and hope) than the pool would be larger meaning ticket price would go up?

Does it's price depends upon the Market Trading or it is controlled by any central authority of Coin?

Decred is the coin that people buying Dash think they're getting. With Dash price at $700, imagine once everyone figures out that Decred is functionally the best implementation of blockchain as a currency. Good things will come to those who are patient  Wink

This was actually pretty insightful! Decred > Dash for sure. Dash is like the original ponzi scheme of crypto. Decred is more like a product that is run and driven by its investors. The PoS is nice and leads to some great rewards, but that is not the point of the project. It's there to add stability and democracy via the voting mechanism.

From revelacaogr:
"1) DCR has one of the best devs in crypto (14+ devs)
2) Lightning network
3) Privacy implementation
4) The real DAO coin + Supports Voting
5) Proposal System
6) First POW/POS Hybrid consensus system
7) Staking - 42% of the supply is locked"

This is awesome and so true.

Dash's disgrace can be traced back to its secret instamine done by the founder. If he was honest and straight forward enough to let the community know that there was going to be an instamine, and tell his reasons why, then I believe it would have made Dash look more "OK".

First some terms clarification: "pool" (POS Pool Size) here means the entire Decred network, not like a mining pool.

But yes, generally more people buying tickets = more live tickets at any given time = higher stake difficulty (ticket price). It's how we've come from a 2 DCR ticket price when PoS went live to where we are today. It also adjusts the other way though too. I doubt for example, that we'll ever see 500 DCR tickets being bought, because people simply won't be willing to pay that much for the benefit (dependent on DCR market price of course), thus causing the stake difficulty to always come close to some equilibrium.

Whatever its clear Decred is moving up with bitcoin now and headed up to take the place of those other expensive coins switching planets in the solar system.  Well long awaited but Decred has lift off.

You must be looking at a different exchange than I am. On Cryptopia its keeping a pretty steady sideways movement in the .004 & .006 btc range. I am awaiting the return of .01

Hi guys,

These days ticket price is around 90 DCR.

I'm still 20 DCR short so I was wondering what is expected to happen with the ticket price in the future, short & long? Will it raise or fall?

Thx

Hello everyone,

Today the project would like to announce the launch of dcrtime and the introduction of blockchain-based timestamps to Decred. This is phase 1 of 2 in Decred's rollout of a censorship-resistant proposal system.

For a detailed write-up of dcrtime, please refer to the announcement blog entry. You can find the first dcrtime tx on the DCR mainnet here: https://mainnet.decred.org/tx/9af946f599e09d68b4590ced2e046c3f883411e1f06e199c073efa621af18d93

If you're interested in blockchain-based timestamps like dcrtime, also check out OpenTimestamps. Props to Peter Todd for his great work! Please also join the discussion on a dedicated forum thread if you want to leave persistent remarks or questions about dcrtime.

Sincerely,
Decred Project

I don't see too many comments on this update so I wanted to chime in. I've been following the Chronologic ICO for awhile now. I didn't invest because I thought their idea was too simple. It actually looks like Decred is already planning on implementing one of their best ideas and adding it to Decred's most valuable system -voting. There are some great comments on the forum too. The importance and usefulness of blockchain-based timestamps for security and trace-ability should not be understated. It's a huge improvement on the blockchain and allows things like votes to be recorded accurately forever. Anyone can go back and check the votes and get an accurate picture of the progress of the project.

The official forum is much better place for comments/discussions on new shit. In this case though, the "news" is nearly 1/2 a year old now. Cheesy

It might be a while before we see 0.01 again. That was when btc was less than 1/3 of it's current price. In $ value the current price is quite high and many cryptos now forge their own path. Not as correlated to btc as they used to be.

Of course if bitcoin crashes and stays down for a while, we might see 0.01 or even more
