Just a general update for now:

Deviant has been compensated with eac and we appreciate the patch a lot. Smiley It is now officially part of our github set (was removed to audit/compare for a short while, it's there now for good).

Dev team is monitoring closely and still comparing/auditing, glad to see more and more pools stabilizing.

Those asking for exchanges, we'd actually rather NOT be on any yet. Still need time to let this get mined and adopted, giveaways complete for a few rounds, bounty's/tools getting developed, some shops taking on the coin, etc. We fear that if Cryptsy lists it as is now it may have the same effect as many that get listed prematurely and phase out after initial spike.

Feel free to suggest tools you guys would like - we'd be happy to have you help us shape a part of the bounty collectively for most useful stuff for you guys to have available. Device apps, checkers/tickers/calculators/prediction tools, cool marketing assets, write-ups/instructions (even for the most basic stuff/wallet use/install/mining - all nicely branded etc for the noob to crypto to understand easily).. Also perhaps a new website contest if you guys aren't feeling this one.

We should have some source files available soon too for any designers out there re photoshop and vector originals of the logo's, color pallets, gold coins etc.

Still have a bounty out for a MAC build of the client for 100,000eac

Linux 32bit client done - will be available on the website and I'll post a link here soon.

Checking the sales thread, it's interesting watching a community balance out and set an initial value to these coins, first time seeing this part of the process myself. I'm sure the balance will happen naturally before any large volume is moved or exchanges set us up (if others care to pitch in feel free, values are all over the board and I assume this is what happens on brand new coins).

Thank you.

That makes sense about not being on exchanges just yet. When the time is right i'll happily assist. Thanks for the update. Keep em coming! Smiley

90% of being smart is knowing what you are dumb at
This is the first coin i regret not solomining.....mined a whole day and got about 30k coins now....learning the conf file was a curve for me tonight...so maybe another coin i can solo mine...can anyone explain the conf file in lamens terms?

I couldnt get the user/pass without the conf file....cand use a conf file without a user/pass.....can we just create ANY rcpuser and PW?...or how do we find them after downloading the wallet?

your conf file (in app data) SETS the parameters that your wallet needs.  You should also run your wallet via batch file with -server.  For example I have an EC.bat file that is:

earthcoin-qt.exe -server
pause

the pause allows me to see if an error pops up.

your conf file should also contain the IP or range that can access your server (i.e. wallet) to mine.  if its just 127.0.0.1 that localhost or just that computer.

finally you set the ports this coin runs on.  point your miners at your ip address your wallet is on and bingo.

also make sure your wallet is up to date, has the addnode's in the conf file.

with any luck you will be golden.

Either there has been a flood of new members into the Alt coin section because of this coin or someone went on a serious account creation binge. Based on the interaction and attention I think it it is the former.

I personally have been a reader but not participant of the forums for weeks now... I missed some of the boat with DOGE, got in just before Crypsy and solo mined a few mil coins (which I converted to LTC)... that said I found its in my best interest to be attentive to all new coins and the market in general.  I feel this coin has a better chance at success then DOGE (as I think others do as well) so you have a flood of new people participating in the discussion.  At least that's my story.

Personally, I've only really been involved in crypto currencies since Thanksgiving (there was a lot of media attention that got many new people like myself engaged)... As we go thru our learning curve of digesting information (as I  have done over many late night hours), I now want to be part of the conversation.

I'm starting to sound repetitive.

Need more beer.... that will fix it.
Thats good to hear! I think we all started that way in this forum. I know I was lurking over a year ago and finally signed up in Feb to get in on the ASIC talks. Have another beer, it makes posting on here 10x more fun! lol!

Or was it LottoCoin?

https://github.com/lottocoin/lottocoin/blob/master/README.md
So which coin in particular did he develop?

* The developer is here to stay - he's one of the dev's behind one of the most popular
alts and has been down this road before. Second time to market with a proper team
usually means great things to come.

Was it Elephant coin?  https://github.com/earthcoinproject/earthcoin/blob/master/README.md

Developers work in their own trees, then submit pull requests when they think their feature or bug fix is ready.

The patch will be accepted if there is broad consensus that it is a good thing. Developers should expect to rework and resubmit patches if they don't match the project's coding conventions (see coding.txt) or are controversial.

The master branch is regularly built and tested, but is not guaranteed to be completely stable. Tags are regularly created to indicate new official, stable release versions of Elephant coin.

Feature branches are created when there are major new features being worked on by several people.

From time to time a pull request will become outdated. If this occurs, and the pull is no longer automatically mergeable; a comment on the pull will be used to issue a warning of closure. The pull will be closed 15 days after the warning if action is not taken by the author. Pull requests closed in this manner will have their corresponding issue labeled 'stagnant'.

Issues with no commits will be given a similar warning, and closed after 15 days from their last activity. Issues closed in this manner will be labeled 'stale'.

Or was it Redcoin?  https://github.com/earthcoinproject/earthcoin/blob/master/doc/README

Quote
Intro
-----
Redcoin is a free open source peer-to-peer electronic cash system that is
completely decentralized, without the need for a central server or trusted
parties.  Users hold the crypto keys to their own money and transact directly
with each other, with the help of a P2P network to check for double-spending.

I hate to quote myself, but I never received an answer to the question I posed earlier.

The EarthCoin used the Elephantcoin codebase as the starting point, that's probably why you see these. I already fixed them in the source in github. I have no idea for lottocoin. I am not the dev of lottocoin. It could be that they started from the same base. There are a few coins that considered "stable" or problem free, that people choose to use as starting point for new coins. When you start a new coin, you can base it on any existing coins depends on what features you want. All codes are open source and most are in github.

Hope this answers your question. Thanks.

It's not going down, I am making changes in the background, trying to fix the 500 error, which is still occurring.

Congrats on the release guys. I've been trying to mine earthcoin, but I just need to get my mining skills in order haha.

Guiminer-scrypt has been pretty easy. I for some reason have never been able to get stable output on scrypt using cgminer.

vircupool keeps going down
And scryptminer pool appears to have stolen all the blocks mined on launch day by going into perpetual maintenance mode. I don't know how nobody else has a problem with this?!

Keep the community informed of developments and things can progress nicely.
