Sooo... like another guy posted here recently, I have just started looking at cryptos again after more than 3 years away from it.
I still have some coings in an offline wallet from when I was holding some EMC2 back in the day.
Is it really as simple as downloading the latest wallet then copying across the wallet.dat?
This wallet hasn't been online for over 3 years but I can open it up and it still shows my balance.
If it's so simple then why are there warnings that come with new wallet versions: "must update by xx date"?

Thanks for your help

Hello everyone, I have coins on an offline wallet from a while back (v0.8.7.1-unk-beta) last block is 87692.... are these still recoverable?

Do you have the private keys?

I believe I do, Just don't know how to find the info on the harddrive,  any Help is appreciated

I have to option to Sign/Verify a message with the address the coins are in, would the string of characters for either of those be the private key?  or do I have to find a file on the harddrive somewhere that holds the pub and private?

The private key is just alphanumberic text. Like you said - string of characters

I managed to find my way to the wallet.dat file on the old harddrive, and I downloaded the latest excaliber wallet... all that is left to do now is copy the wallet.dat from the old location and replace the wallet.dat in the new location? Anything else I should do to ensure success in the transfer?

That should do it. How many EMC2 do you have?

HERE comes the dump! lol

I think u mean pump.

lol guess so!

There's only two days for the big news:

Anyone else see a double in price in 10 days?

This fucking shite coin hasn't really been doing much these past few days. Have missed out on Verge and ada as a result. Guys, I strongly advise to sell if this coin hasn't moved up by the 19th, as we can all expect the typical 'BUY the rumour and sell the news' outcome.
Temper, temper... Mind your language. Children might be reading this... I know you're frustrated because you missed short term opportunity, but that's not the reason for this kind of language nor  bashing the coin. Project is great, future is bright. Patient will prevail. Will you be patient one? If not, just sell. No one will cry about it.

I think that this is a good coin and judging by the large amount of mining hash is going toward the network for this coin I would say a lot of other people think it is a good coin as well.

hi =D
Hello, on the 19th would be the release of news in EMC2 but this does not guarantee high prices, the market always anticipates, would it be feasible to invest now, especially for beginners?
