I still think proof of stake ends up being superior vs the ever increasing workload of proof of work that only gets more of an obstacle for conventional blockchains to overcome and navigate with all the fee problems ongoing.
Proof of stake doesnt encounter any of that or use up so much energy easily justifying the project, I do think ENRG gains in some parallel with any wider recognition of POS benefits.   Congrats on 7 years

Carbon capture using Kelp - https://edition.cnn.com/2021/05/03/business/running-tide-kelp-carbon/index.html

Thought people might appreciate that one, they grow a cars weight of kelp in the deep ocean via a dissolving buoyancy aid which when it decays means the kelp sinks to deep ocean bottom burying the carbon.  Amazing natural solution

There was no celebration of 7 years EnergyCoin.
On April 30 the first block was created @ 2014-04-30 11:49:31
I am curious what the horoscope says about energycoin.

I hope seriously that EnergyCoin still exists 7 years from now.
I did almost everything to make this currency a success but maybe not enough?
If somebody can code the ecosystem for trading/staking ENRG on an energy-efficient device,  I have presented here, then I believe we can beat Bitcoin.

Have a nice day,

Jan

A workaround is that you install VirtualBox and create an Ubuntu client.

Thanks for all the support! But that's a little too much tech for me. I once tried it on a raspberry, but the desktop version for mac was nice because it was directly accessible. I'll jump in when it is more user friendly again.
If you live in The Netherlands I can provide you a secondhand NUC for €75,- and with Microsoft Remote desktop you can then control the 3 wallets I have installed see the screenshot of the remote desktop.

I have several NUC's with windows and some with Ubuntu-core

Have a nice day,

Jan
PS If you want a staking NUC and are living in The Netherlands send me pm

Any ongoing dev/biz work on ENRG ?  Anyone trying to get ENRG listed on more exchanges ?

Actually, my question should be  - is there anyone who still care about ENRG and have any plans, cause I don't see any progress for months now.
I'm not in de dev team but extra exchanges in this phase make no sense.

I care about ENRG and work on IoT application on Ubuntu-core with 3 blockchains entangled see my previous posts.
But I do this work in my free time together with a free time developer so it is not going fast.
The goal is economic and environmental energy usage by linking smart-meter data to smart use batteries and solar energy.

The official team is working on a dashboard but funding is a problem because there is no clear earning model.

Hav a nice day,,

I hope you can make this wallet available on your PC

I just bought a new mac, I don't have a PC Sad
A workaround is that you install VirtualBox and create an Ubuntu client.
Then with the terminal install the EnergyCoin client:
Code:
sudo snap install energycoind
Then
Code:
energycoind.boodstrap
Fill in RPCuser, RPCpaswd and RPC port

You can run then in VirtualBox Ubuntu client the GUI-wallet of EnergyCoin.

Install Ubuntu on VirtualBox is easy but if you need help just ask.

Have a nice day,

Jan

edit:
I just instaled on a 30GB virsual disk with Ubuntu the EnergyCoin wallet

And now almost in sync

What about your hardware wallet?

Yes indeed I meant to say the desktop application, not a hardware wallet.
I'm using macos 11.2.3, v1.6.0.0 is still the newest version?
What folder do I use as wallet folder? Thanks!

Check this post: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.21063243

There is no new version and the dmg is no longer available on the link.
Also, this MacOS wallet is not compatible with BigSur.
I hope you can make this wallet available on your PC.

Another thing:
I did a swap 1:20 between StakeCoin and ENRG for two big holders.
The ENRG goes to the EnergyCoin Foundation wallet.
The STK comes from the Stakechain Foundation wallet.
The new holders of Stakecoin can always swap back to ENRG from GeoJanBV (my company).

See the new rich-list.

I support this swap for a maximum of 5M ENRG and 250k STK is available.
This deal is a kind of smart contract and details have to work out.
Swap back can only be done in small portions, so no dump of STK or ENRG.
I want to make a fixed link between EnergyCoin en StakeCoin and in the future (green) Bitcoin.
It is a value triangle for green applications and the small computer boxes (running on embedded software) are the backbone of the blockchain network.
I see it very clear and there is a long way to go but this manual swap with contract is the firs step for integration.

Have a nice day,

Jan

I could need some support with my hardware wallet:
The app version is v1.6.0.0 (is there a newer one to download?)
Also I have an old ENRG .dat backup file.
How do I sync this all together? Thanks!

Link to the 1.61 client:
Thx for sharing the other ENG coin.
There was some development this year.
Client 1.61 was released.
Downloadlink: https://mega.nz/#F!uc0XmCra!73JBKfnmbdImd_9H_nXtRQ
https://github.com/EnergyCoinProject/energycoin

You can simply put the ENRG-wallet.dat backup in the wallet folder as wallet.dat and download the blockchain.
For Ubuntu, we have a bootstrap procedure for windows not.

On Ubuntu install energycoind:
Code:
sudo snap install energycoind

then
Code:
energycoind.bootstrap
and in a few minutes, you are in sync!

There comes also a GUI version with the install.

What about your hardware wallet?
I can't remember that we developed that.
Can you give me some information?

Hi ENRG people,

As you all noticed I'm very active the last few weeks.
I've new energy for the future of EnergyCoin, Stakecoin and Bitcoin.
Together with the Hybrix platform coinswap is possible and real value can be injected into the ecosystem.
With the Ubuntu-CLI wallet on small devices, it is possible to develop in-house energy-saving applications.
A dashboard-App on a phone or personal webpage gives the user control over the reward options for energy-savings.

The first pictures...

One 100% CLI wallet on Ubuntu-core accessed with shh command window.

A hybrid solution on Ubuntu-desktop.

The install the application simply copy/paste in a terminal:
Code:
sudo snap install energycoind
See website for more info: https://snapcraft.io/install/energycoind/ubuntu

The following commands are available after install:

energycoind.boodstrap -> installed the bloackchain in a few minutes

energycoind help -> gives all the available commands from console

energycoind -deamon -> starts the wallet

energycoind getinfo -> gives te status after starting the wallet, wait a few minutes  after starting the wallet to get the info

energycoin stop -> stops the wallet and this is needed before shutdown the system

On one client 3 blockchains are active is the plan and I design smart interaction.
I support always swap between ENRG and STK as long I can afford it.

Have a nice day,

Jan

edit: Additional information when running the EnergyCoin/Bitcoin client on Ubuntu-Desktop with ssh-enabled.
Install open ssh server

Code:
sudo apt install -y openssh-server

Don't let the computer sleep at the login screen, so it's always up.
Code:
sudo su
su -s /bin/bash
dbus-launch gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power sleep-inactive-ac-timeout 0
exit
exit

Source

The daemon of energycoind and bitcoincore.daemon stop when the system is going to sleep, this occurs only in server ssh-mode.
The above tweaks prevent that.

Enjoy the new snap wallet of energycoin.
I continue building on the ecosystem and a user-friendly dashboard to control the ubuntu wallets and connection to energy-saving applications.

I have 34 connections on my NUC!

Have a nice day,
Jan

Nice, I love that proof of stake has the longevity for these ideas to play out.  Im reinstalling but will be staking again soon as I catch up, thankyou for your work Smiley

Thank you for your support, I remember you were an initial holder since 2014 just like me.
For the ubuntu client, there is also a bootstrap application available.
If you want to make use of that the client comes available in about 1 week from now.

hi Jan! I will exchange stk coins for energy.
PM me or send email to [email protected]
You get 20-1 for STK as long as I can effort.
On Youbit 1 STK is 2000 Satoshi, so I have a good deal.
We work on fixing the deposit problem there.

I have also other good news.
A screenshot from energycoin daemon on a small desktop with ubuntu-server.

The is the first step to entangle Bitcoin, Stakecoin and EnergyCoin to enforce Eco-Bitcoin and many other applications.

Have a nice day,

Jan
