from what i have gathered though, these other games don't take place entirely in the blockchain.. i think with lyth, the chain (asset exchange?) is used only for trading items?

could be wrong --
but afaik, Huntercoin is the only crypto game, in which the entire world, including movement takes place in the chain and is provably fair. (except motocoin)

Though well-positioned currently, Discus Fish highlighted the emergence of new pools both within China’s bitcoin and litecoin mining communities and abroad as a potential long-term concern.

However, Wang stopped short of speculating on the future of Discus Fish, saying:

“Pools come and go. We all remember Deepbit, and others. It is hard to say anything one year from now.”

He added that “we must constantly improve our service” in order to stay competitive in a global market of miners always on the lookout for better – and more profitable – mining pools.

When asked about the future of Chinese bitcoin regulation as it pertains to Discus Fish, Wang said that he hopes that pools will be allowed to continue serving their function in the mining network.

Wang cited the fact that pools don’t touch government-backed currencies as reason for the sector to be lightly regulated. But given the fact that mining pools form are a kind of utility in the space, it remains unclear how regulators will approach the business model moving forward.

“Mining pools do not involve fiat money. I think it should not be a bigger target of the regulators than an exchange,” he concluded.

Thanks for the pointer about ABE. I am working with it now... running into some (probably expected) python errors I am trying to work through...

After poking around with ABE etc... I think to do justice for the game I will probably be adding quite a bit of custom stuff. I already had some of the 'gaming' stuff started back in March so I have something to start with. Also I have an array of daemons that I query in order to build out the videos in just a few days for the entire chain, so I am setup to extract data fairly quickly.

Just wanted to give a quick update on this. My dedicated server is at the end of its lease and I have decided to get some new hardware. So I am in the middle of moving sites to a the new server. Huntercoin.info is currently not up because I was upgrading to version .13 and it was taking a long time, so I thought I would move that site first but ran out of time before the weekend hit. Should get this back up and running on Monday and then get some block explorer loading blocks on Monday also.

Your coin is hundred percent safe, just start a new chain download with the latest client, after that get one backup chain and wallet.dat
It do take some time, but faster now

I have multiple clients(4+) running/substitution ,with the -rescan for thoes get stuck, not lost any coin till now.

I know a guy who lost 30k HUC too. He mined them though (prob bought some as well.)

I see them as $1-$10 a coin, so just fucking heart breaking!

I got all my priv keys on a paper wallet thank goodness.

The coins are safe if the wallet file is intact and you have the password.

Either wait for an update or send the wallet + password to a trusted member and have them send them to an exchange.

If I were you, I'd wait and just see how it plays out. 10k coins will not get you many $ as of know.

Not some shitty little Billboard like one I believe Verr rented they had back in the day for BTC, but like the digital boards going over the Bay Bridge and the other ways you see into SF.
