It looks like that not only the exchange site but all of the mobile apps are getting removed from the store right now. Some people have already complained about that. It's very strange to see that and is there a correlation between the app and exchange site maintenance?

Like many others, I was away from crypto for a while. Coming back to it again I had to realize to my dismay that all my COSS are gone (actually, they are just "stuck" in the COSS wallet.

I've been part of COSS from the beginning, supporting it and defending it however my limited means allowed, but had to take a break for a few months last year. It is thus absolutely shameful how they have left their investors hanging.  Angry Angry

I really want to understand the rational behind some decisions that does not seem to fulfill any purpose except to line the pockets to COSS:

1. Why is the swap limited in time at all? Since COSS and LALA simply became COS and ceased their existence, and time limit is unecessary

2. Why the hell couldn't the coins automatically become COS? For a LALA / COSS investor, there was no real choice anyhow. Again, it's not that there was a choice between COSS / LALA and COS, but between COS and nothing. The requirement to have to do it manually, again seems to have no purpose except to shut out some investors who, for whatever reason, were not actively following the project. This manually requirement is particularly misleading since I recall another communication from COSS (when I was still activein crypto), stating that as long as one had the COSS coins on the exchange, no specific action would be required.

I know the crypto world is still like the Wild West, and this is just another (high) price for a lesson to be learned. But just as in the Wild West, if an implicit honor code is broken and fairness not restored, companies like COSS will turn supporters into active enemies.

So, I hope somebody from COSS is reading this seriously and reconsiders making long time investors hole and restore fairness. Otherwise, the Wild West rules apply where gun slingers are replaced by social media influencers.

other than that there was a problem that I heard, just losing the private key could not be helped for what they made the application if they could not help the user, even though email access and cellphone numbers were still clear, that's why I didn't like their wallet application

If you've ever thought about to run a Grid Bot but didn't know how to setup, here is a easy way to setup one with the exchange coss.io - more below.

The best is with a grid bot you are mostly get the "maker fee" (because you provide liquidity), which is currently 0.00% on this exchange. As soon you have over USD 5000 volume within 30days (average / 30 day rolling volume), you will earn to trade. Maker fee change then from 0.00% to -0.02%, means for each trade you earn 0.02%.

Here are two free grid bots to download and easy to install (only for coss.io):
https://github.com/omer259/Simplicity
https://github.com/Br0ke138/coss-bot-platform

I give you also my referral link if you want to Register at COSS: https://www.coss.io/c/reg?r=L1LCXJJ47F
However, if you mostly will get the maker fee, I will not earn anything if you register with my referral Smiley

There are several lucrative pairs you can setup, just try it out. For a Grid Bot it is always the best that you choose a pair for which you would hold both longterm, e.g ETH/BTC - Or if you just want to be speculative on BTC and think BTC will be within a range in the next month, try BTC/USDT.

Kindly note this is no Investment Advice, you will choose this exchange and to setup a Bot Grid at your own Risk. I will not be Held responsible for any gains or losses caused.

I just heard it now, sorry, if there is please reply to me, thank you

that's why LALA token is merged with COSS token and both become COS token right now.

Hey;

i have the same problem. I have just logged in to coss after one year to make my yearly taxes,
and was shocked that my account showed 0 USD balance. Then I have seen what happened.
I am hodling COSS since the very beginning - i was there way before the high peak. It was an up and down, but I never expected COSS would kick their hodlers in the ass like that.

I have no clue at all why they did not make an automatic swap - they always had my coins in their wallet.
Please let me know if you were successful, otherwise lets have a look together which further steps we have to take, to get our coins.

Thank you
You should ask the admin on the TG group about that

https://t.me/myCOSS

COSS exchange sites have already moved to the another hand and you have to go to the TG group to ask about your problem.

No I didn't tried yet for the TG admin.

Do you have the contact ? Thanks

I have posted it and look at my post above

Hi,

I have a problem with the COSS / COS swap.

I haven't checked every week or every month each announcement, and it seems it wasn't so clear with the COSS / COS / LALA etc..

Anyway, I understood I had to put my COSS Tokens un the COSS.IO exchange wallet. So I made this in october.

I thought the swap would be automatic as it was directly on the coss exchange, but it seems that not !

I am logged yesterday on coss.io and still have my COSS tokens.

I contacted the support yesterday and they told me the swap is ended and there are sorry for the inconvenience ! LOL.

So i don't know if they mean that I lost everything but if it is the case it is a really joke from the team.

In the MEDIUM post it is only written :

"The swap will continue on COSS.io for at least 3 months from 25th June 2019. We shall announce if any further extensions to this window are to be made."

So :

- No final deadline clearly written (with exact date and time)
- No mention if the swap isn't do manually, we will loose the tokens swap

Anyone has also experienced this issue ?

Thanks

You must have missed the coin swap from COSS to COS, as there was a merger with COSS and another Blockchain project, LALA LAND. I could have been very well off if I had sold the COSS token at ATH in the 2017/2018 January boom but I missed that big chance. It is still a very good project though and I plan to buy a small bag to hold as part of my crypto portfolio for the future. I think they are trying very hard to make it grow, despite the fact they didn't raise much in their ICO as many other projects did. They started off very modestly but at least they are around, unlike many other projects that have died over the past few years. The market cap for COS is just over half a million USD which is so tiny compared to what it could be, so in a little boom and more developments and volume, it could really take off again. To reach through those all-time highs again, we would really need the volume on the exchange to grow more and more. Right now the price is at an all-time low and a real steal, with only 200 million supply. All-Time High   $2.99 USD (Jan 14, 2018)
All Time Low$0.006213 USD (Dec 23, 2019)

Counting 3 months from 25 June 2019, I arrive at 25 September 2019. So there was at least a 3 month window to do the swap from COSS to COS, right?
That's right and if the date will be extended and the team will be creating another announcement from its official blog. But, it looks like the swap process has already ended a few months ago based on the date that already stated.

It's clearly unfair.

I am in many project since 2015 and I don't check every month what's happen on Medium or other for small projects.

I invested 2 years ago in COSS (so high high price) and the tokens are on the COSS exchange.

So it is unacceptable that they can't do anything and just make the swap manually.

I didn't received any email from the COSS exchange concerning this swap.
As far as I know the COSS exchange site has already bought by LALA token and that's why lala team is responsible with the coss exchange site right now. And I agree with you if this is really unfair because another project like crypterium makes the ability to swap to token becomes available forever.

I had been holding lala in the past but I have sold all of my tokens when it has gotten a pump.

Have you tried to ask the admin on TG group?

Did you email the team about this?

Yes but still the same (automatic) reply :

"Hi

The token swap to COS tokens was originally available from 25th June for a period of 3 months. The swap had to be authorised by the user, hence manual.

We made 2 1-month extensions and sent out several notifications via email, Reddit, Twitter, Medium and Telegram in the last 5 months. The swap window has now ended and we are unable to swap your tokens.

Best Regards,
COSS Support Team"

The Great Debate (Should you be worried about current volume?)

We all know that exchanges rely on volume and liquidity to gain noteriety and attract new users. Many exchanges (if not all at one time or another) utilize some form of wash trading to do this, though none would ever outright admit to it for legal reasons.

Unfortunately for exchanges with fee split sharing, WT becomes tricky business...

The purpose is to attract new users and investors, but most WTing doesn't generate fees, so current investors and in all likelihood the exchanges core user base end up taking a hit to their return on investment (ROI). This in turn generates tons of negativity and frustration, leading to FUD and wild accusations, scaring off most would be users and potential new investors, completely defeating the initial purpose of pumping volume in the first place.

Hence the title, Great Debate: Is it better to have large volume with low ROI in FSA or to have low natural volume but high ROI?

Well, COSS spent months at or above $5M volume, reaching as high as $10M... The FSA ROI and token price collapsed, trust was lost, wash trading and fud allegations ran rampant... Custom fees for a few large liquidity providers was said to be the culprit.

After all that time, we have little organic growth to show for it.

Recently, there has been a noticeable change in strategy, which has led to a dramatic drop in daily volume, and because we've been so conditioned to view volume as a metric of exchange quality and strength, many people are becoming concerned.

Luckily these changes coinside with an overall shift in market sentiment, where even major sources of exchange info like Coin Market Cap are shifting their focus on liquidity as opposed to overall volume (which is a much better metric of strength).

Hopefully the following points of optimism help shed some positive light on the potential future of the COSS exchange and ecosystem.

Though volume is way down from months ago, both liquidity and FSA ROI has improved and hopefully this new strategy plays out as follows:

1- Organic volume increases ROI in FSA.

2- FSA ROI attracts attention of potential investors.

3- FSA ROI remains consistently high as new investors jump on board.

4- Token price rises attracting even more attention.

5- Some new investors become active traders adding more growth to daily volume.

6- Word begins to get around that COSS has the best trading fees in crypto (bc THEY DO), attracting more and more big time traders who want to take advantage of the NEGATIVE MAKER FEES.

7- The steady rise of natural, fee paying, organic volume, FSA ROI, and COS token price attract positive attention and help to change market sentiment, opening the door to a wave of new traders and investors who had previously been on the fence, reluctant to join what was once seen as a “shady exchange.”

8- The next Bitcoin bull run and alt season arrive solidifing COSS' place as a top 25 (or better) exchange. 🤞🏻😉👍🏻

Okay, that last one is wishful thinking, but not far fetched if 1-7 play out as hoped.
