Ok, here's the latest update from our Grewalsatinder about the upcoming release:
Actually the necessary changes required to release the next beta are done. Well mostly. Those were done yesterday. But, then I found it is not working as expected. So, doing iteration of the work done to fix those known issues. If you or anyone so keen to just run the development version, and just can not wait for longer, and brave enough to install from dev branch, feel free to install it. You’ll be on your own, as it’s the dev branch. And always updating with the bug fixes and new code.
Instructions are there:
https://github.com/SuperNETorg/iguana/This must be the 6th iteration I guess in last 3 weeks which is happening to the wallet.
I don't advise people to use the dev branch unless you know exactly what you're doing!!!
And about the to-do-list after this release:
There are still more things to be done. Like:
- Automate and fix Full Mode sync so in cases it stuck with sync wallet can behave accordingly.
- Native Mode GUI needs update. It will be same as before. After updating Native GUI, I’ll also include support for all assetchains and Paxchains to activate as Native Mode too. So, expect 2 more releases after the incoming release. Ah, and also the performance optimisation tasks like queuing and API call prioritising are not done in this release. As it was taking even longer, and time is less, so found workarounds. Those will also be coming in next builds
So we're probably 3 releases away from having Iguana completely ready for Dex. This one takes more time for the great number of bug fixes but the others should take relatively less.
If Iguana had been delayed instead of being released a month ago, there would have been a lot of complaints and it would have helped little to find and fix all the bugs. A rough release, on the opposite, has been invaluable for the large number of feedbacks from many users. This can cause frustration for some but it makes the fixing job a lot faster! The lizards are coming!!!
