Based on these figures, if you invested 1 btc in any of these and are still holding on today, this is what your 1 btc would be worth right now (don't laugh, some people don't know how to do the math):

Ripple: 72,289 BTC - 676,227 BTC Market Cap - 835% increase (8.25 btc)
Ethereum: 31,531 BTC - 2,462,284 BTC Market Cap - 7709% increase (77.09 btc)
Maidsafe: 12,200 BTC - 104,696 BTC Market Cap - 758% increase (7.58 btc)
Stellar: 7,228 BTC - 27,803 BTC Market Cap - 284% increase (2.84 btc)
Bitshares: 6829 BTC - 38,981 BTC Market Cap - 470% increase (4.7 btc)
Factom: 2287 BTC - 43,194 BTC Market Cap - 1788% increase (17.88 btc)

...and how many Lisks is it for 1 BTC at the moment?

14k? Probably end up 10k when all ended

an unreasonable rate of dilution :-) so there's no hard ceiling?

No lol.. I also presumed I would get like 30% profit on the coins but my coin total has gone down 40%

using 10 BTC as an investment volume (a number easy to multiply all values by) what is the realistic expectation of the rate of return on this gig and over what period of time? no hype merchants please.

I'd use this list for predictions:
Ripple - Over 30M USD from VC's - 676,227 BTC market cap
Ethereum - 31,531 BTC from presale - 2,462,284 BTC market cap
MaidSafe - around 12,200 in BTC from presale - 104,696 BTC market cap
Stellar - 3M USD from Stripe - 27,803 BTC market cap
Bitshares - 500,000 USD from investors + 5625 BTC in donations (via BTS AGS) - 38,981 BTC market cap
Lisk - around 5100 BTC and 64M XCR from presale. 4 and a half days to go.
Factom - 2287 BTC from presale - 43,194 BTC BTC

I don't see Lisk market cap lower than 15,000-30,000 BTC.
I strongly believe it's going to be somewhere between 50,000-100,000 BTC by the end of Summer.
And I hope to see it over 500,000 BTC by the end of 2016.
To give you a better breakdown, I converted everything into BTC and then determined the % increase from the ICO to current Market Cap figures (with the exception of Lisk since we don't know yet).

Ripple: 72,289 BTC - 676,227 BTC Market Cap- 835% increase
Ethereum: 31,531 BTC - 2,462,284 BTC Market Cap - 7709% increase
Maidsafe: 12,200 BTC - 104,696 BTC Market Cap - 758% increase

Factom: 2287 BTC - 43,194 BTC Market Cap - 1788% increase

They grow because they have the capital to hire people and work full time on this. Usually, when it's people working on a project which they are not receiving income the progress tends to be slow. But not with these kind of funds, progress should be fast, and updates should come weekly if not bi-weekly.

I don't think dev will wait too long to show something useful, so nobody really know what's going to happen once lisk hit an exchange, nobody know exactly what plans dev have. If they will wait too long probably price will drop, but think if they will release instantly something huge....well I wish to see all of the skeptical people around here say sorry for al they fud they'v shot. And people if I see a -25% after we it an exchange, it will be manipulation made by someone to buy lower and I will be there to buy low too.

using 10 BTC as an investment volume (a number easy to multiply all values by) what is the realistic expectation of the rate of return on this gig and over what period of time? no hype merchants please.

Don't listen to the hype merchants here.

Devs made it clear that this is a LONG TERM investment, so expect a drop of 10% to 25% after Lisk launches on exchanges and it will remain there for few months until Lisk Devs actually develop or release a useful product, other than what they cloned from Crypti Platform.

How would you back up your predictions? Why would someone buy in just to sell out 10-25% lower?

For many reasons:

. Because they don't want to be stuck selling at 30-40% lower

. Because another investment opportunity presents itself (another ICO, another new coin launches on exchnages, etc...)

. Because life throws some unexpected expense that forces them to sell at any price

For many reasons:
. Because they don't want to be stuck selling at 30-40% lower
How about assume that they'll sell 50% lower because they don't want to be stuck selling at 80-90% lower? Does it look like a solid argument?

. Because another investment opportunity presents itself (another ICO, another new coin launches on exchnages, etc...)
How about all other coin fail big time including bitcoin and only Lisk is left with market cap 1 trillion dollars? Both events are equally possible

. Because life throws some unexpected expense that forces them to sell at any price
How about life throws unexpected Lisk price grown to $10 per coin? If it's unexpected then also both events are equally possible.

All your arguments are pure speculation. On the other hand I show examples of previous IPOs and their results.

I can keep going...

It happens all the time, just ask others around here.

people always sell lower than their entry point, this is correct. The reasons could be smart or stupid, but it happens. Well shit happens indeed.

yup, I suspect some of the larger investments are made for just that purpose.
I just remember the archcoin's launch. it was around 6000sat at the ico end, then it went in few days to 2x at 13k, and the next days it dumped to 3500/4000 for months, that was accumulation, infact few months later it spikes to 40k....50k and then 75k....Ok now is almost dead.
This is just to say that even if lisk will go lower doesn't mean nothing, it's a great opportunity to buy lower than the ico price.

Unless you are acting selflessly, the Azure Microsoft announcement is not a good news for investors during the ICO. Bad timing but it certainly has a positive side nevertheless.

Azure Microsoft announcement is not a good news it is a great news. Without all that hype there were only some forum small fishes looking for a quick x2-x3 return. And nobody from them have any impact on a crypto world. They'd sell quick and sell low. That was the future of Lisk. But with this hype we have lots of very serious people invested in Lisk. It means that they're in Lisk for a loooong time, most likely for years. It means that we will see high trading volume, regular news reports in major media, dapp developersm buy walls etc. etc. Influential people will be pushing Lisk towards to multiply their investments.

"...very serious people invested in Lisk."

source?

Where do you think those hundreds of btc come from? Most forum members invest 0.1-1.5 btc. Take a look at IOTA investments https://blockchain.info/address/1G8hh3bHMMhZSATwisBVbGFSYBKK3Suib8?offset=300&filter=0

There are certainly some big guys in Lisk. Most likely including Coindesk, Coinbase, Microsoft etc.

"Most likely..." - meaningless.

On the other side are people who say "omg, so much investments it's awful!" with no arguments at all. Just like neurotics. And somehow you value their opinion higher?
