This is so to say a "bottom -> top" marketing view instead of a "top -> bottom" marketing view.
I know this is different from other coins but the aim is to completely substitute a classical currency so that people want to trade USD/Euro into MAC and not the the other way round.

Added some mining guides at http://machinecoin.wordpress.com/mining

I saw you started this post, lol u are mining for a month. U must be that 1%

I just turned my miners on and forgot about them. I have no interest in other coins, I have enjoyed working on this coin. I used to trade coins until someone hacked my trading account and stole about $60. Now it's just a hobby. I like designing graphics and networking (ip addresses, this forum is the most social networking I have ever done in my life). And I just read the "other" forum and realized what you are talking about, lol. I dont have enough mining power to be that 1%.

Being an out of work machinist by trade, this coin's name had an appeal to me.  Unfortunately, My computer is buying my food (too stubborn to go on the dole) so I can't waste time mining something that isn't profitable.

Can't stay away? Wink

Maybe I will grab a good card soon, the most I have been able to pull was 80khash, but consistantly around 40-50. Is there a way to get it higher with more stability? I use a few different machines at a time, so im using cpuminer and cgminer.

I feel like im not utilizing my processing power's full potential. Here's a total noob question for someone, can I up the amount of threads to more than one per core with good results, or is that just robbing peter to pay paul?

I've seen you on the mining site, Rip.  I am lathe_hand.

What in the world are you mining with? You get a crazy hash rate Smiley

I sacrificed my gaming machine to build my mining rig about mid December.  It had two gtx 9500s running in SLI, and was cranking out 15 khash.  Then I got hooked.  Smiley   I bought a radeon 5870 for $170 and replaced the 9500s, then bought another one, which put me at 800 khash.

The 5870s seemed the best bang for the buck for me, mine seem to use 160W each, and produce 395 khash each, with no overclocking.  Mild OC gets me about 405 khash.

Being an out of work machinist by trade, this coin's name had an appeal to me.  Unfortunately, My computer is buying my food (too stubborn to go on the dole) so I can't waste time mining something that isn't profitable.

Hopefully, this will change soon, and devs will get hot and post their Rumpelstiltskins off here and elsewhere.

I almost forgot about this coin.

MachineCoin actually taught me how to mine with the command line wallet.  Grin

I only use the command line now, after getting used to it, I like it better than the QT

Has the actual developer(s) posted on this thread yet?

I dont believe so, he/they kinda do their own thing updating machinecoin.de and he/they send updates thru two sites they created - https://socialiter.de/index.php?a=profile&u=machinecoin and https://broadster.de/machinecoin.

And interesting about this coin is...

I just like it, its fun to follow. Fail or not, the main developer has a vision and continues to code useful software to add functionality. He knows his code and he puts out so many how to resources on his site. Plus the name is kinda catchy.

I want as many machinecoins as I can get my hands on Smiley

For example:

3hrs ago Machinecoin.de @Machinecoin You will soon be able to send and receive #Machinecoins using your #Android device. machinecoin.de #Bitcoin; #Litecoin Expand
