I never get mining to work, looks like I am headed over to this coins e exchange to buy some -

 https://www.coins-e.com/?ref=5261312137363456

 Undecided

DO NOT USE THIS SCAM EXCHANGE - CHECK THE FORUMS TO INFORM YOURSELF ABOUT THE GUY WHO RUNS IT AND HOW MANY COINS HE HAS STOLEN FROM CUSTOMERS

If its a scam why oh why are the devs giving this exchange exclusivity?  I thought it was a bit better since new ownership....I guess we should tread carefully then. Will remove the link in my signature to be safe!

What's difference between CopperLark and MaxCoin? Name and wallet design?

OK, let me get this straight:

- This is coin is SHA-3 in order to be CPU minable only
- It soon will, or already is, possible to mine with GPU anyway
- No botnet protection

Why not make it a Scrypt coin in the first place? Cheesy Am I missing something?
Yes you are missing something. sha3 is better.

I would love to buy some maxcoins too, but four or five forums have many clients talking about how they've been ripped off, can't get their money out, or their money disappears, and no help from support.
If I type in google "coins-e and scam" there are so many pages, blogs, forums, who are against coins-e.

Is there an alternative? Does Max Keiser know about this?

so this will be a gpu coin at launch?.

Q: So is it CPU only? Will I be able to use my Butterfly Labs ASIC when it arrives (... any day now...)?
A: Using Keccak as a hashing function renders current Bitcoin ASICs and the upcoming Scrypt ASICs useless on the coin. GPU parallelization of Keccak is possible but currently does not exist for mining with our implementation of SHA-3.

Dependencies:
   libcurl         http://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/
   jansson         http://www.digip.org/jansson/

i can download either gz or bz2 of each, does it matter which one i use.

So what i've to do to mine that on windows with GPUs ?

Your options are pretty limited right now,  Cudaminer hopefully.

but cudaminer is for nvidia gpu , or i'm wrong ?

I think it is safe to assume the price after the initial launch will be a little unreasonable... probably a great time for miners to sell though.

How long do you think it will take to settle?  A lot hype saying it might not turn back..

Not sure, OP only mentioned coins-e who claimed exclusivity... probably better register on both and trade on whoever lists first!

EDIT: probably going to be more liquidity on coins-e given the announcements of the devs.

Yeah I seen the source. I mean the compiled binaries for Windows. Otherwise I'll have to install Linux and do it the old fashioned way!

WTB Maxcoin anyone selling?

No coins have been mined yet, anyone trying to sell you maxcoins before official launch is most likely trying to scam you..

Hopefully this cuda miner pops up tomorrow. Good thing I got my old GTX 560 ti OC still set up and ready to go! Some guy was saying he was getting 55Mh/s on his GTX 560.

To put that in perspective, using the maxcoin cpuminer that was released today on a Digital Ocean cloud server, each CPU core was only getting around 600Kh/s in benchmark mode. You would need 91 CPU cores to match that one GTX 560
