Two other coins also use SHA-3. You just can't use any SHA-3 miners.  Else why not use use the GPU miner.exe from those SHA-3 coins.

It does, keccak (SHA-3) is the algorithm MaxCoin uses. It's an nvidia GPU miner.

ive no idea how to build a cpu miner from the source but i did read from Stacey Herbrt on her twitter that the maxcoin devs will tell people what to do with it once the release is official, they released it early so when they release it officially at the launch their wont be an overload and crash the download page.

When will be release or it was?

There will be some bot nets configured and waiting to mine right now. They will not doubt cause a few coin forks early on whilst the diff is low, so watch out for that. Make sure you have lots of confirms before trying to transfer any coins.

Asics can not mine it.. do not worry about that at all.
But do worry about massive botnets hoping on this fast.. and i would not be surprised if Max himself did not have one ready to go
he'd be stupid not to lol
And i know this because i have watched how botnets have taken over on Quark and Securecoin from day / block 1
Now a days on the SRC (Securecoin) pool i am on i see RIGHT NOW this in the stats..


So what that means is it will not take very long for those guys and many many MANY more big players to hop on this new coin fast !!!
I have watched how Botnet op's hit CPU minable coins like vultures.. what you see above is them doing light mining when the diff  and value is bad..
you should see when the diff is low and value is up.. they come out of the wood work fast and hard lol
And that is a small sample of the power that will be unleashed very soon.. many of these guys are on all sorts of other CPU minable coins
..and will hope over asap guaranteed

I have already built my Max Keiser coin miner mod and tested it and i think i am ready for release
Was not hard.. the paid dev (coin cloner) simply took Neisklar's Quark CPU miner code and cut out the other algos not needed
and then changed the SHA3 algo to 256 instead of 512 and changed like 3 strings and compiled lol
Hope he didn't pay em much money for all that hard work ahahaha

The "maxcoin-cpuminer.zip" file was only for windows?

They have removed the files, you will have to wait until tomorrow.
