In the case of poolers.org it is a proportional payout.  Someone on the pool finds a block, then based on the shares everyone submitted for that round you get that portion of the payout. Some other pools will use modified PPLNS systems to prevent pool hopping.  It makes the work you do now, pay out later down the road.  It all evens out to the same if you stick around though.  In the case of solo mining, you find a block and you get the whole reward. But, if net hashrate is high you might not find any blocks at all.

Why don't work? My miner cannot connect to the pool?

Is the official website is down or? It opens something else, not maxcoin.

whats that?
whats the advantage of mining pools vs mining on my own?
explain please

You pool together for higher hashrate and higher chance of finding a block.  When difficulty gets high you might not find any on your own.

So, guys, Im a little embarrassed and didn't catch that this wasn't a scrypt coin when I set up the pool.  Anyone know if Keccak is supported by stratum and mpos? All my pools are scrypt.

oh okay cool that makes perfect sense
i thought once a block gets released it gets spread equal according to contribution and its not a all or nothing system (could be a potential upgrade for newer coins?)
do pools differ in any ways like payouts or are new joiners compared to founders or existing members disadvantaged?
do pool themselves spread the mined coins according to contribution?

There are a few different ways that pools distribute the coins but yes thats the idea. You get a share of the reward based on the work your miners put in.

so is it an affiliate thing where you get more if you refer people or is it equal for everyone participating based on what he contributed?

Poolers:

1. Have you hard anything about existing --keccak implementations of cgminer (ex: CopperLark) for Maxcoin? I'm curious if we'll need a new version of cgminer.

2. Do you know if minerd supports keccak?  I've been playing around with EC2 instances getting them ready for tomorrow.

Thanks.

I am not familiar with keccak, I missed that part when setting it up. I am told though that this can be mined both with cpu and gpu via scrypt though so --scrypt will be the correct switch on max.poolers.org.  If there is a special fork of stratum-mining for keccak I would be down to put that up as well.

Solo mining is an all or nothing reward system. With pools, it's easier to predict your return based on contributed hash.  As difficulty increases, solo mining becomes exponentially more difficult.

People who say botnets ruin CPU coins are idiots. Just like with any coin botnets are an issue. Bitcoin has them, litecoin has them. What makes people think that botnets can't use GPU's just as much as they can use CPU's?

This is either an obvious troll or someone very new to the scene. Either way, I don't have the time to walk you through initial difficulty jumps. There's a big difference mathematically between botnets on an initial launch vs established coins such as Bitcoin/Litecoin.

Sorry I read your post completely wrong.  Wife was talking to me as i read it.  I take back what I said.

It's all good, I know everyone is racing trying to get ready for tomorrow. Happy to help if I can.
