As much BTC as Max has, why would he give a fuck to spend all this time just to get some meager pump and dump returns?  There are plenty of other chances to just fuel a coin of his choosing, meow, without wasting his own VC and time.  Max is a little more intelligent than Fontas, If he's going to fuck us over its going to be something more clever than another moon coin.  Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater yet.

What time does he have to spend? All he has to do is mention in in his vids or make a few tweets. He's just enjoying the attention. He's going to become a cryptotroll.

This is a classic pump and dump and Max Keiser knows it. Even if this is not pre-mined, the dev guys + max are first in line with their machines pointed at this coin to squeeze out first coins and dump them at high valuations after few weeks of daily mentions on Keiser report.

is this the first coin witht keccak?

No Copperlark has it as well
Apparentley not the same implementation since they state that those miners won't work..

I would be curious as to how Maxcoin's implementation of Keccak differs from the one in Copperlark. One of the things I see is the number of re-hashes applied on the input data (Copperlark seems to use a double hash).

Maxcoinproject: Any detail on how exactly your keccak implementation differs from what's in the wild right now?

Max was pushing those "silly crap coins" a week ago.

I buy
1: some fun/Meme/Copy coins because i see quick rewards
2.:long term in coins that bring inovation and something new even if they don't move that fast or I'm no early adobter.

Max coin has the Specs of the first with a profit expectation of the second. This will result in unfair distribution, thats why i'm negative.

If Maxcoin uses a pure Keccak implementation there aint anything stopping us from developing a GPU miner prior to launch or am i missing something?

By all means please go ahead and do it! It's needed, they said they are considering giving a bounty for it.

So it's basically a race for who develops the cgminer/cudaminer patch first? If I had more time, I'd take the challenge, but... meh.

Besides, GPUs-schmePUs, I wonder how many people still have leftover FPGA rigs from those gold Bitcoin days.

Leave no FUD unchallenged
In all honesty I think the people moaning are those who have large GPU farms because they won't be able to get rich quick from it.
Think this pretty much sums up all the negativity in the thread.  They can keep their silly novelty dog and cat crapcoins.

Coins-e. Another "win" of this "wonderful" crapcurrency. Great choice! lol
It's not like you can launch a coin and say "yeah, I'm putting this on BTC-e and Cryptsy" because it's not up to you.  The exchanges themselves decide what coins they'll allow, so the developers don't really get a choice other than saying "no" to the coins-e offer, which would leave them with no exchange until/unless someone else makes an offer.  Try to be less dense, please.

Any predictions for the ridiculous price this will be selling for on Coins-e at the start? Ha...

Current Quark price will be the psychological barrier, I think It will go for even 5x or 10x that at the beginning. Regular Joes won't just have mined enough to sell lower and the crooks will not dump big amounts into the market for cheap when they see people paying ridiculous prices from the start. Lots of Max will stay in few Hands. Dirty Hands.

I've been looking into an SHA-3 coin for some while now. These guys definitely pulled off a tough project. Personally, I would be respectful to any Dev. Team and not attack anyone. I'm a little upset you guys beat me to SHA-3 but I'm still glad you got it in.

My feel is, no one should be out to get anyone. If a coin succeeds, it succeeds. If it fails, it fails. A new coin can't hurt anyone so long as the Dev. Team stays truthful.

Although, if a coin and its team is on the WarPath, haha, that's a whole different story.

Cheers on the SHA-3 😉

If Max will be speaking about Maxcoin on his shows, price will go up. Seems to be good investment even as pump and dump.

Didn`t Quark go down once Max started talking about it?

after he admitted he was payed to promote it yes

He admitted it? Where?

On twitter I think, not sure. CryptoCobain (Jordan Fish, one of Maxcoin dev) tweeted about it some weeks ago

Last time I checked he denied ever having been paid to promote coins. Not that I believe him though.

All other altcoins are trembling right now.

It's interesting to say the least. A big name behind the coin, but it could still go either way. Sounds like the devs did their research though. Kimoto Gravity well? Excellent choice.

Would be kind of funny to see this dumped though. That would say more about the state of the altcoin community than the coin, however.

Reality is stranger than fiction
Can we have info on how to mine this coin before the launch date?

what price do you think theyre gonna sell for when maxcoin hits coins-e?Huh

The price tha majority is willing to pay, which will be much higher than doge or quark start prices were cause its the all mighty maxcoin. this will result in bad distribution cause buyers can only bite of small pices of the huge botnet pie right from the start.
