Did I understand it correctly that only CPU users can use your platform or both CPU and GPU? And what about ICO? It's interesting why you refuse it. Do you plan to have an IPO?

there is no GPU miner released, but even if it will be released by someone, it won't have significant advantage over CPU miners, so CPU mining will still be profitable. It makes no sense to mine most other coins with CPU since GPUs and ASICs have huge advantage.

As to ICO, we think it's more fair this way. Everyone has access to WEB if they find the project early and start mining it and they don't need to invest any money to own some coins.

That's right, but do constant protocol changes also pose any risk to the network as a whole or is that no problem?

It's not like we are going to change it everyday. To build ASIC, manufacturers need many months. So to stop ASICs it's just enough to change it from time to disrupt their plans.

it's not profitable to develop ASICs for webchain, our algorithm doesn't represent a good option to see a return on your ASIC investment

Does that also count for the long-term? What happens if there are some changes in technology, could it be feasible to develop an ASIC for this one day?

Hi, thansk for your question.

In the whitepaper, we mentioned that we will be constantly revising our protocol to remain ASIC-resistant. Our team has researchers that are always looking for new technology trends that might affect our features and devs will do their best to make Webchain project keep its vision.

It's kind of non-profitable to invest in developing ASICs to mine webchain after noticing that we update the protocol over and over.

That's right, but do constant protocol changes also pose any risk to the network as a whole or is that no problem?

This is not yet wallet release - this is pre-release. It's Alpha, main functions work hopefully but not everything. Please don't send more money than you are willing to lose! If you are afraid - don't use it, wait for official full release. https://github.com/webchain-network/webchain-wallet/releases, main things that we know that don't work yet
1) It doesn't show incoming transactions, only outgoing, although It does show correctly total balance. Sending money works fine, so if you want to see incoming transaction details, you should use explorer for now
2) few things in interface doesn't work as it should, feel free to share it, although we know about most things probably.

You can use Mainnet in right upper corner but be careful as this will slow down your PC during network synchronization, so you might prefer to use light node mode.

Although we do encourage you to run full node of course if your PC can handle it.

My miner after restart gives a smaller hashrate. After the computer restarts, the hashrate is restored. Why is this happening? Have you faced this?

Wallet creation is too complex and difficult to understand. Please give us detailed and easy instructions

Not at all. Download files from github, start create wallet ***, go to AppData folder (to view it, you must have enabled hiden files and folder in windows) webchain folder ... there you have all you need: wallet dat, wallet text file, ... Backup those files.

Any questions?

EDITED: *** put your passphrase in (cursor will not move - text is invisible), just type your phrase an confirm

Hi, Thank you for this awesome project. I only have one question to ask. Won't mining through your software harm my laptop in the long run? Thanks, I will be grateful when my request is replied.

Hi, Im new here and Ive been running since the project started, at first i thought it was gonna use up all my cpu resources, but it hasn't and I can mine in the pools

Hello! Thanks for your comment. Saying that it won't affect your device would be a lie. Keep in mind that mining means that you're using your device processing power to help find blocks. So, as it happens with software that is run on your device, webchain-miner will use your hardware resources.

The good thing is that you can decide how much power your device will be dedicating to mining. Check the different options on the config file.

Btw, this project looks promising because we can see the team's commitment. Good job.

Thanks for keeping in touch. We appreciate your comment and trust.

This is a review of our most recent announcements:

1 - We realeased webchain-miner v. 2.6.2.0. One of the main added features is that users can now add worker-IDs in order to assess the individual perfomance of their mining devices. #CPUMining. Find more about it here.

2- Webchain official pools and community pools got DDoS attacked during this last week, several times. It encouraged our devs to figure out more permanent solutions to avoid this from happening in the future. We openned a backup pool for users to keep mining as webchain team was working hard to find a solution. We suffered some attacks after the implemented solution, but we can proudly say that they didn't cause any important effect.

3- Webchain entered ERA 2, meaning that the first 100000 blocks were already found. We thank everyone that has believed in this project. New base reward value according to what is mentioned on Webchain Whitepaper

4- Our GUI wallet was sent to testing phase. Our devs have worked as planned and have made sure to stay on top of what we've promised.

5- Applications to exchange listings are going to start soon.

Btw, this project looks promising because we can see the team's commitment. Good job.

Thank you! Sometimes they appear as disabled and sometimes as enabled. I don't know what i do different. I need to do something so it stays enabled?

Hello! Always try to run webchain-miner in administrator mode.

I just tried it and HUGE PAGES appear as enabled. Thanks.

It will work as long as you always remember to run the app in administrator mode. Good mining to you!

How money years need for reach your premine?
If this new eth then ok.

We have announced the lock-in periods for the premined coins before.

5% - available this year (part of it might be used as airdrops in another project to spread awareness about webchain)
20% - available in early 2019
30% - available in early 2020
45% - available in early 2021

Meaning that our share of premined WEB will be fully unlocked from 2021, but we are not planning to sell those coins according to lock-in dates.

Is it important that HUGE PAGES are enabled? does it impact  my hashrate or something?

Thank u

Hello! Your processor marks small chunks in your memory for each process/thread. If a process uses more RAM, it automatically increases your number of small chunks --> more entries to look up. If you have "huge pages" enabled your "small chunks" can stop being that small and become larger memory chunks when needed, which means for efficiency to handle the process, thus a higher hash rate.

Thank you! Sometimes they appear as disabled and sometimes as enabled. I don't know what i do different. I need to do something so it stays enabled?

Hello! Always try to run webchain-miner in administrator mode.
