No node bounties since 7 hours?

" Hi guys,

our node bounty system had a hard time catching up with all the new nodes created in the last few days and sending out bounty amounts for them - today it failed completely. Nice work!

The bounty system is suspended until I work something out later today. No uptime will be lost, payments will only be a little late.

Edit: The downtime includes the node checker, so don't bother.

New Beginning!

Thanks for info! BlockChain is downloading now.Smiley
Lets say we have 250k of NHZ. What is best: staking or forging?

You automaticaly earn a % staking, I would suggest leasing your balance for "Pooled Forging" as it will increase your chance of receiving a forged block + fees associated with the block!
Here is a video on how to lease your balance.

I would also like to announce that in an effort to bring confidence and security to all holders and future investors of NHZ, we will be setting up a public ledger that will display all transactions of the bounty / escrow accounts.
This includes all bounties being paid, and will show all of the distribution.
We have a well thought out distribution model, and we will be making an official announcement detailing everything shortly.

I've been noticing some pretty heavy transfers to/from several accounts. Some of these I am sure are well deserved as they involve devs but it would be good the keep the community informed.

Any updates on this accountability ledger?

The blockchain is the ledger.
The only accounts that are going to be announced is the escrow account from Polo.
Every other account is either a bounty account which is automatically filled when it gets near to been emptied (These are labeled on the explorer), or someones private account. There are a lot of people with over 3m coins.
Distribution will last at least another year at current rates.

The new update looks good.  About Darksend please try not to copy XC by redesigning CoinJoin or just copying Darkcoin's technique.  I feel that both coins will always be playing whack-a-mole with new found security exploits forever and a day as their found.  Due to trying to use a protocol based on CoinJoin.  CoinJoin transactions were proven to be able to be easily deciphered.  Patching it up and adding another layer is just building on bad foundations.  You could offer much more solid and stronger transaction anonymity by copying the Ring Signigture's technique that Cryptonote coins use.  Or possibly borrowing Anoncoin's soon to be released Zerocoin accumulators protocol.  Even better offer both ring sig's plus zerocoin to offer choice and provide fault tolerance.  Or possibly try and combine both techniques maybe if possible for a double-spin or pre-wash effect.

That was a type on my end: It's actually called "DarkHorizon's."
Darkcoin is a centralized method, which goes against what Satoshi's original vision for blockchain technology, so it makes no sense to copy them.

To my knowledge no one was ever able to trace a XC transaction, and there is some news about that in their forum recently.

i want upgrade my nhz wallet. what file must be back up?

You don't need to back up any file for you wallet. The passphrase that you are given when you create an account is your wallet.
It's a "brain wallet", this is why you must WRITE DOWN THIS PASSPHRASE and make multiple copies so you don't have one central point of failure if your computer were to go down, or you were to lose that piece of paper you wrote it down.

i want upgrade my nhz wallet. what file must be back up?

None: just install the new clinet, run and enter your passphrase in the upgraded wallet when prompted. If you are running a hallmarked node, you may consider transferring over your .conf file but this is not necessary.

To commodify ethicality is to ethicise the market

XC's privacy is not based on CoinJoin. Read their OP: it's a proprietary protocol similar to coinshuffle. It avoids the bloat of Ringsigs and of Zerocash, and the DOS-vulnerabilities of CoinJoin.

Coinshuffle does sound very interesting though how can XC's implementation be trusted if it's proprietary?  Also Zero Proofs of Knowledge technique was a major break-through in number theory and has now had over three decades of research into it.  While Ring SIgs was considered a major breakthrough in cryptology and has now had over a decade of research on the matter.  So using either of those two would be building on very strong foundations.  Anoncoin aim to store some of their zero proofs outside of the blockchain.  While most of Monero's blockchain is bloated because of spam and dust.  Although the option of using the coinshuffle technique does sound a lot better than copying Darkcoin's Darksend or anything else built off CoinJoin.   The coinshuffle paper though is only a few months old that's my main concern with not being an expert cryptologist to make my own sure decision on it.  With ZPK and RS's they've been out there for decades to be studied and I take my opinions from the view of the many peer reviews over those many years.

Good points there.

Fortunately Coinshuffle uses neither novel cryptography nor advanced number theory. It comes down to the way in which a standard transaction is passed around between signers. So spotting problems with it is more a game-theoretic question than anything else. So it's on a pretty firm footing given its age.

As for the trustworthiness of XC's privacy solution, well, it can't be truly trustworthy until it's made open source. This will happen progressively and in stages, but only XC's Rev 1 mixer code is open source at the moment, so you'll need to wait a bit. On the other hand, you can expect code reviews and bounties in the near future as XC "bulletproofs" its tech.

Could someone please explain to me what "forging" means?

Would be much appreciated...

Forging is a process that secures the blockchain and the "forger" get the transaction fees in reward.

Is this different from staking?  Apologies for the noob questions...

Forging is the is authoring a block in the block chain. If your account authors a block you receive any fees for transactions that were in that block.

Staking is something different from forging; Simply put, what stake is, is a bounty for having stake in NHZ. If you have coins in your account, you get a 10% apr compounded daily payment deposited to your account. You get stake everyday, even if you don't author an account.
