Roll Eyes namecoin and the word investment should never be used in the same sentence unless the word "worst ever" is before investment because it has done nothing since its inception apart from lose value to bitcoin. It truly is the worst "investment" ever. The coins price and the liquidity for the namecoin market is a complete joke.

I guess you are just trolling.  But just in case this isn't clear, Namecoin's main purpose is (unlike most other altcoins/tokens) not to be an investment, but to be actually useful as decentralised domain name and general naming system.

NameCoin have the mining difficulty and network-hashrate almost as Bitcoin, and cost $0.57.
It seems, like real price, economically justified price for bitcoin is ~$1-2, because of this.  Grin

It should be noted that Namecoin is "merge mined" with Bitcoin.  This means the Bitcoin miners secure the Namecoin network and use no more electricity or work than they would just mining Bitcoin alone.

Hope that helps... Namecoin is still a great buy though IMO.
If namecoin mining is profitable for miners,
and if miners prefer to do mining NameCoin better than just buy this,
this means miners so poor, to do not let themself to buy NMC,
and because of this, keeping hashrate of bitcoin is not so hard,
using just a corresponding investments, like in already exists in this NMC, or that ETH.

Dev update from yanmaani on improving the UX of the "name_firstupdate" and "name_update" RPC methods by making the values optional:

https://www.namecoin.org/2020/12/04/namecoin-core-name-firstupdate-name-update-default-values.html

And another dev update on the name renewal GUI:

https://www.namecoin.org/2020/12/05/namecoin-core-name-renew-gui.html

Nice. Got a link to PR on github where this is being done? Might attract some testers, reviewers, etc.

I think that nothing will happen with coins like Namecoin. It's not just an altcoin ... it's history. This is a kind of brand in the world of cryptocurrencies and sooner or later the price of this coin will recover!
Exactly, coins like Namecoin have a long history that has gone through time to test their useful existence, they are essential to the crypto market. Before it was ICO time, now defi but old coins are still solid and they will recover.

Try version 0.19.0.1. It should sync much faster. There is also Electrum-NMC from the beta downloads page which may allow you to import the seed from coinomi.

So Coinomi dropped NMC and now you need to extract the private key and sweep it to another wallet, yet net not even namecoin core has this ability in it's GUI.

Oh and Namecoin Core stops downloading the blockchain after a few megabytes, and needs to be restarted all the time to resume.

 Lips sealed

Which version of Namecoin Core are you using?  The "stops downloading after a couple thousand blocks" issue sounds like a SegWit-related bug that was fixed long ago (but that fix was merged after the name tab beta came out).  If your intent is to move coins from Coinomi to Core, I'd assume the name tab beta isn't really the right version for you (since Coinomi never supported names).

Porting Namecoin in Tor Browser to Windows: https://www.namecoin.org/2020/10/09/porting-namecoin-in-tor-browser-to-windows.html

Also worth noting that Cyberia Computer Club and Cypher Market have both been added to the funder list in the Namecoin.org footer.  Thanks to both of them for supporting Namecoin!
