we're doing a btc10k party, the XCP tokens already exist, just need to set it up

Why was the $1k party cancelled? Appeared to have quite a few reservations

not sure, I wasn't part of that.

I find this American Dollar fetishism a bit curious.

Like it or not, most international trade is done in USD. The US is by far the world's largest economy.

I really think you should postpone the party.

The party was CANCELLED over a year ago.

I hate to sound like a negative nancy, but given that you are in BERLIN which is now back to belonging to Germany rather than the US or Soviet armed forces, shouldn't you be celebrating when BTC hits 1000 EUROS?

I find this American Dollar fetishism a bit curious.

I really think you should postpone the party. According to this site it has reached only 995 euros https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/btce/btceur

I, personally, only look at the USD exchange rate. The EUR market is much smaller than the USD market. Most relevant sites are in english and USD based. Chartanalysis etc doesn't make much sense in EUR. We don't have a single real exchange here in my country (only a market).
And finally, I prefer to party at the time when everyone parties - now! :-)
Don't worry, we'll be at 1000 Eur before tomorrow 19:00 Berlin time ;-)

You lead and I'll watch you walk away.
They say the 2nd time is always better than the first.

Are we talking about sex or bitcoins? LOL

I'm almost afraid to get excited this time though. Last time we really didn't know what was going on. As far as I was concerned it would go up forever. This time we can be fairly sure it's happening because of the Chinese governments capital controls and their desire to keep yuan from fleeing the country. What happens when the Chinese govt realizes bitcoin is being used to usurp the govt imposed $50k outflow limit? Kind of puts a damper on the whole party spirit.

how would they really stop it though? genie out of the bottle, and all that. the great chinese firewall is farm from impenetrable after all.

I live in a suburb of Beijing (San Francisco lol). I know more Chinese people than any other group and they tend to live in fear of the government (even here which is odd). I have a feeling that any government sanction would start a mass sell off that would spiral out of control. I don't think the government would try to block it directly but enough of the people would voluntarily comply to start a run.

that's fine more for the rest of us... the beauty of this product is that it flows like water, and is needed like water...

mass sell off... we aint even at mass scale yet... how do you get a mass sell off with a few thousand Chinese people... guys in Venezuela and EU and Russia and now India happy to take it from them if they get scared so easily.

fyi - there are parts of the 415 which are not "Beijing" you might want to wander around a bit and get some exposure to other cultures.

Nah, I don't want to hang out with the pretentious white people in 415. They are nothing more than overpaid pieces of crap that way overrate their value to society. Besides, I like the Richmond District all the way to Japantown, even the area with Chinese consulate on Geary.

If the "few thousand" Chinese that have been buying Bitcoin heavily for the last six months should decide to sell out, hold on to your hat because it's gonna hurt.
