Timing should maximise media attention, so even using an ultra conservative $1000 average is best, and a delay to maximise the showcasing of tech and exposure can't hurt.

as I can not make this one, I propose changing the title to $2000. Considering how well BTC has recovered from the sell off initiated by some guy on bitstamp that dumped a ton of BTC's at market, taking all the stupid bots with him and later scared rabbits, $2000 should be around the corner, probably before years end, so lets pick a place where to celebrate a new year in style

postponing ticket sale for a week is not really cool, but it will not hurt anyone. reservations can be done, so it is no problem. we better play it safe here.
bitcoin price had a rush, the btc 1k event cannot be rushed accordingly. maybe we will indeed have it in the spring.
To that point, if the price goes very high $2,000+ before the party and you cashed out at $1000 it may cause friction, Also ticket sales should be close to the cash out time, or the cash out time should be close to the party, so someone isn't paying $2000per ticket and receiving $1000 in perceived value.
Possibly give some consideration to how you are going to pay bills and cash out and post it here to avoid any friction.

yes, we check the 24hr average on stamp. needs to be above 1000 for 120 hours in a row (=5 days)
