3 minutes until fix kicks in, so there is not point not to wait now...

I can also confirm that staking worked for greater than 1 coin with v5 wallet.

I staked a couple hours ago and they have just confirmed. Since the new wallet is set to be active soon can I stay on version 4 or is this a mandatory update?

MY understanding was that the v4 wallet was on a forked blockchain, and that everyone was supposed to get v5?

is that correct?

so if I staked on a forked chain (ver. 4) will I loose my staked coins when I update to ver. 5?

Basically what happens on the wrong fork never existed when your dealing with your staked coins. Your coins will still be there, still have the same weight/age as they would have otherwise, but will just still need to stake.

I guess I'll just wait for the final countdown, better to wait an hour than risk unlocking my wallet.

weird thing is I'm on v1.0.4 and staked on my stack that's well over 1 seed - wasn't this the reason we were all updating to v1.0.5??

My understanding was that v4 wallet was on a different blockchain, so i'd double check that you're on the correct one if your running v4 still.

is anyone else having a problem with the download for 1.5.0 update wallet that says when you open after download it is telling me
Error loading blkindex.dat then i click ok then it closes if anyone knows what to do to fix please get back to me thanks

Do you know how to find your %appadata% / roaming folder?

how do i do this ?
please get back to me thanks

First Back up your wallet

step 1- Go to your search bar on your pc and type in  %appdata%. this is on your pc, not your browser
step 2- click on the roaming folder that pops up
step 3- click on the seedcoin folder that is inside the roaming folder
step 4- delete everything in the seedcoin folder except the wallet.dat file. close everything
step 5- open wallet and wait a while, it will pause and start syncing a couple of times but it will get there

then make sure u are on the same block as the block explorer
here is a link
http://www.argakiig.us/blockchain/seed/index.php
so this will work for windows 7 then right

yes
thanks alot for help but you made me loose all my coins not kool thanks for nothing

What he told you was correct, you keep your wallet.dat, that is the file that basically contains your coins, and that you should always keep multiple back-ups for.

i made backup wallet.dat still no coins before i did all that so yeah

If you have no coins then you were

A. on the wrong fork
B. did not Backup your wallet like I told you too.
C You have not synced all the way yet.

Look at your transaction history, do you see anything in regards to your coins?

Pretty much the last thing Cryptzo (the dev) said was that Bittrex were going with v1.0.5 and so should everyone else because v1.0.5 creates a new fork which the older versions wont sync with. There is also the fix in 1.0.5 which kicks in at 5am (80min after this post), which fixes stakes over 1SEED rewarding for the proper amount. Its maybe too late now really to decide whether you wanted to lock your coins and wait for 5am, I would say just make another backup of your wallet.dat, make sure you are running 1.0.5 and check the Help->Site Status on Bittrex to ensure you are on a similar block total to them (11738 at this moment). If all that checks out then sit back and hope....

If you have been sitting on the 1.0.4 client then you will be on the wrong fork, and will lose any stake rewards your wallet "mined" after 1.0.5 was released, however the stake age on your coins will also have been reset, so you should get them back in the next few hours.
