EVERYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE IS REAL
June 10, 2014, 08:16:05 AM

I really appreciate all the activity here NxtChg, and the Trello board was a wise choice.

Standing by for any design and ui/ux work I can offer to the project.

I have some concerns regarding the password strength in the website. eg I think they can be brute-forced relatively easy.

What do you think?

Over the network? Come on...

What will determin, which nodes will get a reward? Completly random is gameable by setting up loads of fake nodes.

"Proportional to stake" solves this problem. It will also probably cost money to activate a node account.

Is it possible to test a node and see if it actually helps to secure the network, by letting it process a test transaction/block? Is it possible to record how long a node has been active?

Yes, that's the point of this tool. It will monitor nodes and if they are dead for too long or have poor performance - decrease or eliminate reward.

- The password of this account is unknown, random, and only software knows it.

That's pretty much impossible.

But other than that, your scheme is very close. The mother account will be the Foundation account. It will know the password.

Also good idea to use automated fees, tied to this account. Not sure if it will be feasible, but I will think about it.

I thought about a similar approach yesterday.

Completly random is gameable by setting up loads of fake nodes. Injecting additional transaction fees will hand out most money to those who process the most transactions (on which metric will the transaction processor be determined anyway?)

Is it possible to test a node and see if it actually helps to secure the network, by letting it process a test transaction/block? Is it possible to record how long a node has been active?
For any meaningful reward to nodes metrics are needed to determine which nodes should be rewarded.

Are you sure this will only be possible with an external program?

On the other hand, an external one might be interesting after all, as long as it is only needed to receive rewards to run a node.
Choice is important in that aspect.

I've added Suggestions board.

https://trello.com/b/HvwRlxrZ/suggestions

If you want to suggest tasks for Simcoin, ask me for invitation. I don't know if you can do it inside Trello, if not - PM me your username.

Well, why do you think I started the Trello board?

So people stop asking the same "are we there yet?" questions...
Yep, I saw  on trello, lovely. thanks

A quick suggestion, is to split bounties and discussions to separate boards...
I am a big fan of not multiplying entities beyond necessity Smiley
really? Your thread is so messy I would have never guessed.  Wink

Well, since it was your idea, you are now assigned as my guide to Trello.

("assigned" is a weak word for Tentacle Overlord... "summoned"?)

Feel free to ask. A quick suggestion, is to split bounties and discussions to separate boards, as otherwise this "main" one will become quickly cluttered.

If needed, you can always have a "status" board, giving summary of all what goes now, with links to the relevant boards. That said, it will make sense only if the project team grows in size - Trello makes it very easy just to jump between the boards and see what's going on.

probably conjured Smiley

Looks like we are stuck with Simcoin.
Ok - Simcoin is cool.
@dzarmush you can start making the best logo ever  Cheesy

(p.s: I think NxtChg must be using something like this http://www.blockear.com/ but for messages that are posted in this thread - blazing fast response every time)

NxtChg have you decided about the name? Or we staying with simcoin? (I personally prefer names without the word "coin")
It's important to get this finalize before you can start the logo + style contest

Looks like we are stuck with Simcoin.

Abandoning "coin" was a bold move by NXT, but I don't think it quite panned out...

I am pretty sure in 21-st century the word "coin" will mean "cryptocurrency" Smiley

There is already a currency called "simcoin"
http: //www.simcoin.org/
Therefore, the proposed change of name

That looks like a dead project or an attempt not to look like a cybersquatter.

It is fun - but from my experience some Devs spend too much time there updating and organizing tabs instead of coding - don't get sucked in  Wink

So far it was helpful. I was able to quickly type 25 checklist items for the exchange Smiley

And more importantly - it's now visible to everyone. I like it.

Also, as more people get on board we can use their collaboration features.
