All,

I have uploaded the 2.0 Release Candidate (beta14) to the dropbox:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/j4t7a214qjuov6r/SolarCoin-2.0RC-setup.exe?dl=0

INSTALL NOTES:

Remove the contents of the data directory C:\Users\{your name}\AppData\Roaming\SolarCoin  (including wallet.dat IF you have a backup!)
Copy your 1.5 version of wallet.dat to the data directory.
Install the 2.0 RC.

You may either wait for the blockchain to sync, or you may download the bootstrap via File -> Reload Blockchain.

If you have issues getting the download to work (the web server is a little flakey), you can download the bootstrap manually from http://solarcoin.org/downloads/ and save it to the data directory.  Then try to reload the blockchain again, skipping the "Download" step.

EDIT:  PoST is scheduled for block 830000.  This is roughly 7.5 days from now.

-Steve

Thank you Steve!

Speaking about the bootstrap.zip manual download - I did notice the application comes up with a message that the download ends prematurely; that made me check the link at http://solarcoin.org/downloads/.
Apparently there is an improper server redirect there, which brings back this to the web browser address bar: http://www.%{http_host}.com/
Can you please check it out, that might be causing the problem the application has when trying to get the bootstrap.zip.

Thanks y_virtual! I'm not a web dev, so I appreciate that.  Perhaps Nick could hack that out(?)

Official update for POST SolarCoin v 2.00 http://solarcoin.org/en/urgent-solarcoin-update-required-hard-fork-on-sept-21/

please share information with friends mining pools and exchanges.

Can anyone confirm that https://solarcoin.miningpoolhub.com/ has converted?

Nick

I'm mining there now with all I have left, one tiny GAW Fury. I've gone through 3 power supplies. Sad

They do have a notice there about POST so I think everything is moving along. I have not tried the new wallet yet however.

Couldn't find the note, where is it?
Just in case, re-posted Nick's announcement on their forum:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12424536

Those power supplies are really weak, made me switch to a PC power supply, all miners work great now.

I may do that in the future. I have a PSU, just need to buy a new dummy switch and get those barrel connectors.

I just downloaded the new wallet and a full sync but for some reason my coin balance is not showing.

Got it to work by re scanning wallet! works great

Right, if you are doing a full sync, your balances will change along the way as blocks are processed.

Thanks onsight

If this turns out to be the final version will this be the last install? Or will there still be another wallet to download that is active.

Thanks for all the hard work!

If no issues are reported, this is the final install.

Edit: The official download links for Win/Mac/Linux will be updated soon.

Thanks

we are near PosT and someone decides to crash the price. hmmmmm

Maybe its big oil lol  Wink

Looks like the last chance for Mr.Ghost to fill in on cheap SLR  Wink
BUT ...it's so funny to watch them being (well...playing) the only seller..."seller", too  Grin
Turns out that's really a funny guy lol Wink

I'll be buying some soon. It's a steal at these prices really. I think cryptonick has a point as least concerning utility at the moment. Thing is this is the kind of currency people will get behind. There will always be a supply and it's not arbitrary. There is real hardware backing this investment so supply will never run out. I accept it myself as payment for computer services. Though since I'm local there isn't a demand yet, but time and claims will fix this. My chamber of commerce has solar panels on their building. I really should get in touch with them, or at least supply the address here.

Thanks! Oh and demand will increase claiming but will not raise the price of SLR alone. If you look into SREC's you see the more claims the less each claim makes since the Gov divides up the payout. The price  is like this since the only reason to buy is to sell higher right now, you wouldn't buy just to sell lower right? Unless you are buying your own SLR to boost the price, this can be done on Bittrex too be wary. If your coin is stuck lower you must find a product to buy with SLR that is worth the loss if you exchange your coin for it, meaning Solar is good for this and always pays back so buy a Panel. But the panel seller must sell your coin at the rate you gave it to them or even inflated to compensate for risk. It may not have an equilibrium then and just buying a Panel makes your other SLR you hold worth even less. Vicious cycle here and it must be addressed.

I hope to create reasons to buy SLR and new fundamentals that bolster markets and not cash out on them. If Crypto is meant to be used as Trade it must stabilize better. Hopefully the community will be able to decide later on the options I present and also rework them into a viable solution.
