Speaking of this, I decided to run a test wallet on a new account. Copied over my wallet.dat. It's not finding peers, but otherwise it seems to be functioning well.

Here are some details on the latest beta11 that might shed some light on the problems here.  The latest beta does an upgrade on 1.5 wallet.dat's to 2.0. There are some structural changes to the wallet to allow transaction time stamps that are needed for PoST. This is a different time stamp than the one you see in the wallet's History tab.

The upgrade is not backwards compatible with 1.5.  if you are beta testing, please use a new wallet (or a copy) for testing.

The final version will upgrade your 1.5 wallet to 2.0.  So if you choose to use your old 1.5 wallet.dat in 2.0, that's fine, you will retain all of your transaction history.  Just be sure to have a wallet backup handy.

Even if it's delayed, I'd rather have functional software. It's actively monitored and that's the important part. All may not be going as planned, but I think we're in good hands.

I hope this gets fixed before the end of the month for POST.  


Block 800000 is approaching

Apparently, the wallet.dat file corruption by the latest beta happens on 2 stages (or may be it depends on the number of times you try to run the program). If when attempting to start the beta your wallet is still showing the message "...All keys were read correctly, but transaction data or address book entries might be missing or incorrect" - then you can still restore your wallet:
1. Stop right away any additional attempts to run the beta.
2. Copy the wallet.dat file from ...\AppData\Roaming\SolarCoin of the beta to a machine with a running current good version of the SolarCoin wallet software.
3. Exit from the current version (if running), rename it's current wallet.dat file in ...\AppData\Roaming\SolarCoin to something like wallet-back.dat, then place the corrupt wallet.dat from the beta in the wallet folder (...\AppData\Roaming\SolarCoin).
4. Start the current good version. The same error message will appear (something like "...All keys were read correctly, but transaction data or address book entries might be missing or incorrect") but the program will NOT stop running. It will appear as not responding for some time while scanning the blockchain for the transactions related to your corrupt wallet address(es). Eventually the wallet will be restored, with all transactions and the correct balance. You can then exit the program, rename the fixed wallet.dat to something like walletBETA.dat, rename back the wallet-back.dat to wallet.dat, and you are all set to run your original wallet. The walletBETA.dat is the fixed wallet from the beta testing, can be used as a backup to restore from (copy it) to the wallet.dat file for next tests.

Here is the latest - with a newly created wallet (by this version) it does restart without corruption the wallet.dat. It did corrupt the previous existing wallet.dat files though - on exit, after having successfully loaded them and synced the blockchain. I suspect it may corrupt the new wallet.dat, too - after syncing the blockchain. Will try this out, too - just need to wait again for the sync to complete.

Just done an exit and tried to restart - it is telling me that indexes and keys are corrupted and it will not load the wallet or run at all now.  Nasty,  I will have to restore the old version again.  End of BETA TEST ....

I do find a major issue though: if you exit out of the wallet, then start it again, it will not start anymore - 3 different error messages keep popping up, one of them is quite disturbing - about not being able to read the wallet data correctly. Looks like exiting out of the program corrupts the wallet.dat file. Will test this again with a newly created wallet.

The 2 test wallets I have both synced successfully on the first run - but it did take quite a while.

Did the update from the previous beta by directly running the new installer - it does the uninstall of the previous version on it's own.

The only error I got was when starting the newly installed version (same on both machines) - just as with the previous beta, one must first delete the database and txleveldb folders from \AppData\Roaming\SolarCoin, only then the wallet starts without the error message.

My first pass was a bust as well and after that I restored the whole solarcoin directory, updated it fully using the existing wallet, backed it all up again and then ran the 'new' wallet software again.  Be patient, it takes a few minutes to get started and if you try and stop it the indexes will be stuffed and you will need to restore.  Took about 5 hours to fully remake and reload itself with data - so it ignored the existing update.

Other than than, now it is updated, it looks OK.  I haven't tried to do much, just flipped through the menus etc.

Agree with this. If you buy them slowly the price won't move that much. You don't want the possibility of fraud.

It's best to go through an exchange. It eliminates the possibility of fraud.

Good luck but you might have to just buy at Bittrex because the market is in a buying/holding pattern for POST.

I am looking to Buy 100k SLR without making the price move.
