I've noticed that if the waiting for work message is scrolling after finding a block on the 290 rig, stopping the miner on the 260x wallet PC allows the 290 to resume.
If you're solo mining, I think the problem lies within your wallet's conf. As far as I remember it has to be configured differently if you solo mine with multiple machines. Why are you solo mining though? I think it's contraproductive unless you got lots and lots of hashpower.

Configured differently how?

I have 50MH/s on X11, average SMC network hashrate is 50MH/s-100MH/s. Solo mining for me is the best option for the diff & block reward of SMC.

IDEA: put the stuff below into the original smartcoin post from psionin(maybe also at smartcoin.cc somewhere? smartcoin.me or elsewhere?)

In the original post from psionin in this smartcoin main thread,
perhaps under the 'POOL INFO' button image and links,
that is where psionin might put the info and pics to help people find what they are looking for?

Websites can display the Smartcoin Accepted Here Picture, to let people know they accept smartcoins
as payment for their products and/or services:

Websites can display the Smartcoin coin Logo by itself, as shown below:

Websites can display the Smartcoin Currency of a Smart World, as shown below:

Websites might chose to display the smartcoin coin along with the word Smartcoin only

The Smartcoin Wallet:

The new smartcoin splash-screen shows briefly when you open the Smartcoin wallet:

List of Websites That Accept Smartcoins As Payment For Products and/or Services:
- internetcoin.wordpress.com
-
-
-

We might want to have button picture for the new sections in the original post?

sosruko might want to have something like the above, at smartcoin.cc
or we can make a webpage somewhere for this.

You can use sosruko's links to pictures, or the links I show above.(i intend to leave those pictures there forever), whatever you prefer is fine. But you may prefer to put pictures in your own location for you to link to, such as photobucket.com or imgur.com to tinypic.com or flickr.com etc..

WHAT ABOUT A COIN TEXTURE/LOOK CIRCUMFERENCE AROUND A SMALLER SIZED SMARTCOIN LOGO COIN?
this is a time for me to mention that the smartcoin coin lightbulb is ok by itself, but I was thinking
'what if we made it smaller, with the outer circumference being a different coin look to it?'
Do you know what I mean? The outer circumference of the coin looking like a coin with some words around it, and the smartcoin lightbulb logo in the middle of the coin?

The spacing might not be right above. The smartcoin accepted here pics are taking up too much space, so you might chose to just display the smaller one(s)(I just put the other ones there because they represent in a different way)
and the titles for each pic(in bold) are too close to each pic. button images might be used as headings, as with the 'POOL INFO' button already displayed in the original post on page 1 in this thread

Thank you for all the pictures by the way, the pictures will help to advertise smartcoin Smiley

I don't think we need the old 3D rotating S anymore

Hi, Are you managing this site? Specifications are still outdated. Anyway, I've also added SMC logos with white fonts which can be downloaded here https://imgur.com/a/zNriX

I am just referring people to the smartcoin main thread at bitcointalk.org and to smartcoin.cc

I don't think they will find the pictures/images readily on either of those links or webpages.

1- bitcointalk.org main thread for smartcoin
2- smartcoin.cc

But neither of those, are making it simple/easy to find what picture smartcoin wants them to use.
So that may lead to some 'confusion' or people won't bother hunting around.

I think we need to be specific what pictures we want the sites to use, or preferred pictures, and make it really convenient for them, by having those pictures 1- displayed and 2- linked to
on a webpage that I(or others) can then give out the link to the page

Do you know what I am trying to say?(when I refer them to the bitcointalk main thread or to smartcoin.cc they won't find the smartcoin logo all that easily, is what I am trying to say, so is there some way to make this easier for them?)

I contacted altcoincalendar.info and let them know that we are hoping to get the smartcoin info updated at their site:

and if they follow the links I gave them, then they still won't find the smartcoin logo coin by itself,
without the words 'currency of a smart world'..
I think they will just want a picture of the coin by itself? Or what do you prefer?

I PUT ALL THE MOST CURRENT SMC PICS HERE:

http://s1378.photobucket.com/user/thatadam/library/Smartcoin-SMC

Sosruko's pictures are here:

https://imgur.com/a/zNriX

I think it is this kind of picture here that they want:

And that smartcoin coin picture is found at this link:
http://i1378.photobucket.com/albums/ah87/thatadam/Smartcoin-SMC/smartcoin_zpsld3qgbk2.png

So, maybe if sosruko and psionin can find the time to provide a picture and/or link to a smartcoin coin picture,
similar to the one above, on the original smartcoin post here in this thread,
but also somewhere easy to find at smartcoin.cc (perhaps preferably on the home page displayed)

And I will hold off on contacting any more of the wrong info sites, for now, until we get this info and pictures all sorted out, to make it easy for them, so I can just give them a link to a page or thread, where all the info and pictures they need/want can be found without expecting them to do much to find it.

We know they are likely busy people, and we thank them for taking the time to update their smartcoin info and pictures.

I will show you what I am trying to say, give me a little time to get the post ready, and I will post it later on.

Have been thinking about maybe writing a simple & user-friendly mining software for inexperienced SmartCoin users. What do you think?

I THINK MAYBE CRYPTSY IS STILL USING THE OLD SMARTCOIN WALLET, THAT MAY BE WHY MY COINS ARE NOT SHOWING IN MY WALLET AFTER SENDING AND CONFIRMING THEM AT CRYPTSY?
DID ANYONE MAKE SURE THAT CRYPTSY UPDATED THEIR SMARTCOIN WALLET?
Cryptsy withdrawal and deposits are working fine, can confirm.

I just requested an SMC withdrawal from Cryptsy and got it in 3 minutes.

Are you mining on a P2P pool and could you please post your config?

I am mining directly to the wallet in a solo setup.  2 GPU rigs, 1 with 4x 280x, 1 with 3x 290.  I have the wallet running on a PC which has a 260x and is also mining it.

I've noticed that if the waiting for work message is scrolling after finding a block on the 290 rig, stopping the miner on the 260x wallet PC allows the 290 to resume.

here are the configs for each:

Everytime 1 of my rigs (290) finds a block for this coin, i get this:

Code:
[08:55:29] Work available from pools, resuming.
[08:55:39] Waiting for work to be available from pools.
[08:56:34] Work available from pools, resuming.
[08:56:44] Waiting for work to be available from pools.
[08:57:34] Smartcoin solo not responding!
[08:57:39] Work available from pools, resuming.
[08:57:49] Waiting for work to be available from pools.

It continues to scroll like this until i stop and restart sgminer.  My other rig (280x) keeps on going just fine.  So far I've only seen it happen with SMC.  Any ideas?

I want Smartcoiners to give me some feedback about @simplysmartcoin profile

I am working on trying to make @simplysmartcoin profile look ok for smartcoin.

@simplysmartcoin uploaded numerous smartcoin pictures to #smartcoin

I would like your feedback about the pictures uploaded to #smartcoin

I would like smartcoiners to participate and grow into twitter, by having a twitter account with

a smartcoin theme to it, something that is you, that you like, and smartcoin at the same time maybe, just an idea.

There are two things that "wallet" can refer to here. One is the whole program launched by running smartcoin-qt.exe, involving the downloaded files and the data folder that either already exists or is created during start-up. This is a wallet in a sense that it opens a window showing the balance, which allows for sending and receiving payments, keeping an address book, and viewing details about the full transaction ledger.

The other "wallet" is the wallet.dat file, which is in the data folder, and is a part of the broader software application. This file contains keys and addresses, personal data which allows the program to identify your specific balance and transaction history. This should not need to be generated more than once, and should not be updated. If an old wallet.dat file with a balance is saved somewhere, then downloading a new SmartCoin wallet release zip file (the one containing the program that runs everything, not the identifier) on a brand new computer and placing the old wallet.dat file in the data folder before start-up should sync the wallet with the previous balance intact.

I think that one of the most important things to know is that once there are coins sent to a local computer and seen in the application, the wallet.dat file is the key to being able to access them. As long as it is saved somewhere, even if there are problems with forks, exchanges, or sync issues, if the system returns to working order eventually, the coins could be restored from that original wallet.dat file. This is also be used as a basis to print a paper wallet, which is a physical analogue of wallet.dat.

I can't explain it any simpler than this https://i.imgur.com/e3X0qUc.png (sorry for my OS being installed in German)

Actually you don't even have to replace or delete the old application. You could just let it rot in a seperate folder and ignore it but what the heck..

Just replace their old wallet with the new one. The Blockchain etc. is in the roamin folder but there is no need for you to touch this folder in any way.

Sorry, that doesn't explain it to me very well.

trying to install a new wallet when the old wallet is still on the computer,
with the old wallet having coins in it,
and trying to make sure the coins get recognized by the new wallet and transferred to the new wallet.

That is where I have had some troubles in the past. I would like to figure this out more, and write a blog post about it.

I figure it is because I deleted the old smc wallet, and deleted the smc address I normally use with cryptsy,
so I reason cryptsy delays when there is changes like that. If I had been using the same old smc address I always used then likely it would have gone through quickly.

By the way, do you know if the old smc wallet will still send/recieve smartcoins or not?
Your SMC adress has nothing to do with it, regardless weather its from the stoneage. You should not perform transactions with an old wallet!

I am wondering because I gave a friend of mine, some smartcoins ,but they are not very good with computers,
so I was thinking of sending their coins back to me temporarily,
and then installing the new smartcoin wallet.(after I delete the old wallet on their computer)

I don't feel all that competent about installing the new wallet, with the old wallet still present on the computer.

Where does the new wallet folder go? Into the old wallet folder?
It has been a while since I did this, I can't remember all the steps.
