I use 5 for the harder coins, 10 for the easier ones.

By harder, you mean higher difficulty, right?

Yes that's correct.

I've got cryptsy all set up in my anticipated move to this pool, but had gotten stuck what/when to do on the payouts.

Moving in today after a rocky relationship with middlecoin. Shame after creating ipad friendly sites and filtered web stuff for the group. Anyway. Heard people auto paying out to Cryptsy and then auto selling. Think its brilliant so gives me what middlecoin did internally. Any thoughts on good payout amounts to go with?  Are people cashing out when they get one coin of any currency?  Except maybe nova due to the additional fee?

Thanks.

JR

Thanks. So assuming your hash power is higher than mine (I have 4 MH/s) do those numbers still sound right to you?

I only have around 1350 KH dedicated.  (I don't mine on my third 7970 normally unless I'm testing something).  You could probably go with about 3x those values.

As an alternative to letting each user specify which coins they want to mine as part of the multipool, which sounds very complex, how about a separate port for a "fast coins only" multipool, which would exclude LTC, NVC and maybe FTC?

I think the profitability calculation for CGB is incorrect.  The reward for CGB is now only 2.5 / block.  Wheretomine.com reports only about half the profitability as the pool.

Looking at the code, it looks like the laziest attempt to fight coin-hopping so far.  They haven't changed the block reward, the target block time, or the retarget interval.  They only changed the maximum swing from 25%/400% to 50%/200%.

The overall impact will be that profitability will not swing as much, but will likely swing more often.  Currently, it bounces between the 1.8-3.2 range for 15 hours and the 5.5-12.5 range for 2 hours.  I suspect this will become more like the 2.4-3.2 range for 10 hours and the 4.8-6.4 range for 3 hours.  All told, I expect we will end up spending more time mining it at a lower profitability, but will get to mine it more frequently.

As far as the goal of making it resistant to coin-hopping, I would rate this change around a D-.  It will still leave this coin as one of the worst with LKY and ARG (although ARG is about to get the same update it seems).

About what I expected..  Did you see any other changes?

Not anything that would affect Multi-pool.
Block reward is still 20 (halving every 3 years)
Target is still 20 seconds.
Retarget is still every 1080 blocks (about 6 hours).

Also, DGC has a mandatory update:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/dgc-digitalcoin-client-version-02-released-mandatory-update-24-hours-289818

They are hard-forking at block 476,280 (currently on block 418,821).  It will be about around the end of the month.
They are changing their retarget logic to limit the difficulty adjustments to deal with prof hopping.  I will dig into their code tomorrow to see exactly what they are doing.

From his post, it sounds like he's taken the FTC algo and tweaked the numbers a bit.  I predict this will have approximately zero effect on our ability to profit from DGC.

Dev's like to get clever and sometimes through weird things in there (like the WDC coin value change).  I just like to dig through it and see what they have done (or what bugs they introduced like with WDC).
There isn't any updated source available yet, so I would not download or update anything yet.

There is on on the unocs forum. I admit its strange that main download is down...

WDC hit block 600,000.  The reward for each block is now 63.36 (decreasing by 1% every 20160 blocks).
It looks like your prof calculation still assumes 32.

It also looks like you are paying out incorrectly for WDC.
Block 600122 only paid out 32 WDC:
https://www.multipool.us/blockdetail.php?block=600122&curr=wdc
But the block reward was 63.36 WDC + 0.1 in fees:
http://wdc.cryptocoinexplorer.com/block/9061d90039d4cabefedd60ef593f43a74bf4c7887f913beb85351b9502457109

Same for 600112:
https://www.multipool.us/blockdetail.php?block=600112&curr=wdc
http://wdc.cryptocoinexplorer.com/block/95a2472abe1d27530cd0b09a7b01f83b5c1b56093c749636302c80ac099bcd3d

And all the other blocks since 600,000.

Thanks, I will just double pay these blocks.

Thanks for the quick support as always.  You are the man.
