It was the Bitcointalk forum that inspired us to create Bitcointalksearch.org - Bitcointalk is an excellent site that should be the default page for anybody dealing in cryptocurrency,
since it is a virtual gold-mine of data. However, our experience and user feedback led us create our site;
Bitcointalk's search is slow, and difficult to get the results you need, because you need to log in first to find anything useful - furthermore, there are rate limiters for their search functionality.
The aim of our project is to create a faster website that yields more results and faster without having to create an account and eliminate the need to log in -
your personal data, therefore, will never be in jeopardy since we are not asking for any of your data and you don't need to provide them to use our site with all of its capabilities.
We created this website with the sole purpose of users being able to search quickly and efficiently in the field of cryptocurrency
so they will have access to the latest and most accurate information and thereby assisting the crypto-community at large.

wow - great contribution.
Lots of Riot channels means lots of people posting links to get the vTorrent client and then lots of links all over the web directing people to discussions within the vTorrent client.
This is basically the best marketing opportunity, ever. Thousands of users all promoting the client, even those not into BitTorrent.

It's not going to be useful just for the vTorrent community, but the whole of BitTorrent.
Riot is a stripped down version of Slack.
You could have hundreds of different Riot channels - basically little communities - all running off the vTorrent client.
If it's legal to run r/DarkNetMarkets, then there is no reason why they can't also use vTorrent Riot chat.
This is a first mover opportunity, as once you're established as the place where the conversation happens it's hard to replicate. Sure the technology can be replicated, but not the social network aspect.
All without having to worry about sites storing your IP details.
The really nice side benefit is that to use Riot and keep up with conversations, you'll find most people will basically need to keep their wallet on all the time - which supports the security and speed of the network.
Might need to consider allocating a larger default space allowance on the local hard drives - or give people the option to allocate 20GB without Riot, or 200GB with?
The Riot chat channels would be separate from the blockchain, so no need to worry about bloat on that.

If you have any valid criticism or simple questions, feel free to post away. If anyone brings hate on you, I'll defend your right to raise any concerns or positive contributions. To dismiss valid contributions of any kind is to miss an opportunity to make a project stronger.
If you find any bugs, holes, etc, you're a hero in my book.
However,
If you're primary mission here is to bring down hate in an attempt to promote other projects or you're using words such as 'scam' without anything to back up your claim, than you are just a cancer on a nascent project. So you should be prepared for an appropriate level of push back that greets any cancer.
So far, our new friends have shown nothing but 'bait and attack' tactics to promote some web site.

It happened around this time last year when a Monero dev reviewed the code and determined that there was an issue.
Bumping this because I am curious. I looked back in the SDC forum a bit and I couldn't find the exact page where all of it manifested but I know it did happen and the devs paid the Monero dev a bounty for bringing it to their attention.

I raised this issue in a PM with the devs at the time it happened. I don't recall the response exactly, but the devs said they were aware of the issue but it didn't impact on VTR, or something like that.
