..solve their problems with a decentralized client and you really are in $100m to $200m market cap territory.

Funny thing is, these guys don't seem to care about BitTorrent. They already have it. What they seem to want is a decentralized indexing service, that can be trusted, worked upon, contributed to and be safe from take downs. If you make an indexing system that can be subscribed to through a market type listing system, bingo.
..

The BitTorrent integration is a good first step.

The ability to add a user storefront is available, just needs the devs to put it into the release schedule they are planning. Turning that into a listing service with people being able to pay to subscribe to a particular store is an interesting idea that has been feedback yesterday and it's with the devs.

..
The torrent world of tens of millions of people are looking for future torrent services like vTorrent.

Don't take my word for it. Spend a little time reading other threads on r/ like I just did. After a few hours, you won't have any doubts about the enormous potential of this project...

So much This.

There are loads of them.

When the time is right, maybe we'll get a bounty out and put a banner ad in various subs

This coin is a bubble.
I will make a sudden drop soon.

That is a very interesting chart.

What you failed to do was explain why it wasn't showing the typical path of most dead coins. A peak and then steady bounce along the bottom that lasts forever.

The chart actually shows there is significant interest which has never really gone away. The chart is showing anticipation.

"Shall I buy now?"

"No, wait. What if the BitTorrent integration is not real?"

Because most people in crypto don't venture too far out, they are missing the big picture. The really BIG fucking picture.

Head over to one of thousands of places where people talk about torrents all the time and you'll see there is a massive problem - constant attacks on torrent sites and trackers. There are tens of thousands of people waiting for something like vTorrent that removes the need for central points of failure.

Here, just one example: https://www.reddit.com/r/trackers/comments/5dguyw/according_to_a_french_news_site_12_whatcd_servers/

Let's be real... What.CD IS the Library of Alexandria for music. Between the list of music and formats, to the collages, the top tens, the community interaction

If you want to build something successful, just read the comments on threads like this. They are telling you what they want, what works, what doesn't work.  Solve their problems with a decentralized client and you really are in $100m to $200m market cap territory.

Funny thing is, these guys don't seem to care about BitTorrent. They already have it. What they seem to want is a decentralized indexing service, that can be trusted, worked upon, contributed to and be safe from take downs. If you make an indexing system that can be subscribed to through a market type listing system, bingo.

You will have people listing files and others subscribing to them. Recommendations, detailed information, etc. It creates a viral experience with people sending emails to friends telling them about the new service and then you have a captive audience.

This indexing service is easier to do than the BitTorrent integration, but it probably has a more sticky factor.

Look at this guy:

Thanks. Sounds promising. So lets say I wanted to create a private tracker with 15,000 members, would that be possible and what would the website speed be like?

https://www.reddit.com/r/trackers/comments/5c2we4/does_decentralized_bittorrent_software_exist_to/

15,000 members? Just one guy? What would be the price of vTorrent if this one guy created a private tracker service within VTR?

Now consider that this one guy is not unique. There are hundreds like him.

The torrent world of tens of millions of people are looking for future torrent services like vTorrent.

Don't take my word for it. Spend a little time reading other threads on r/ like I just did. After a few hours, you won't have any doubts about the enormous potential of this project.  Not sure how I missed it for so long.

And you think the price of vTorrent is going to crash? lol

Guys, the OP download link is out of date, it shows version 0.8.1 not 0.8.1.1

Its smarter to have it link to https://github.com/vtorrent/vTorrent-Client/releases/

Shame there is only a coin and a 2FA HOWTO option to show him since there is no working torrent function..

You are right.

But there does need to be a shift from preparing to release, to release. Going to production does need documentation, guides, etc.

Devs don't need to be doing any of that.

You've got some great writing skills  Wink

I might be able to make that 2FA tutorial this afternoon, but definitely tomorrow.

Great. You've got the bounties to claim.

If it's not part of it, add in the chat and we'll sort out an extra bounty.

I think leigh2k14 posted something about wanting to try out the chat. Maybe get together and film the chat working.

Would anyone like to chat using VTR's encrypted chat?

Address: XS6KDMM5UYEpAbzL3DGTpjUrYJq4EEr5cz

Pub key: f4qcMgdyVLPgTbtTW8AFdjVvbKVucdCRk3tE4knF5pP9

Drop me a line, i've not used the chat function yet, would like to try it out.

I tried the chat system out with johnr on crypptocopia, he was on windows, and I was on Linux, I came across a bug, where I couldn't see the messages, he could see mine on windows, but I couldn't see his. I also get a bug with the coins I stake not showing up in the transaction until I restart the client, I think this bug was mentioned a good few pages back.

I figured I'd just wait till the fork and update, to get rid of the bugs. They are not major issues.

Things are getting interesting on social media.

Jamie King is someone I've been watching on Twitter since a recent post around here on Kodi. Jamie does some podcasts for TorrentFreak

He's been approached by our new Twitter guy, and he needs some guides on using vTorrent:

He'd be the one to get the word out, good find .

The only prob there is nothing to write about till early next year, it's still just a coin.

My country is at it again, they silently expand their blacklist of torrent sites by hundreds: uk-piracy-blocklist-silently-expands-with-hundreds-of-domains-161120

Not sure you are aware, but the UK actually passed a new law while everyone was too busy talking about Trump.

They slipped it under the radar.

The government can now look at all your electronic communications, legally. No need to get search warrants or whatever.

Phone, email, social media. The fucking lot.

here's paste from https://www.snooperscharter.co.uk/about-the-bill

Quote

The Investigatory Powers Bill is a new law that will give the UK police and security agencies massive powers to collect, analyse and look at our private communications and Internet use. The state does need surveillance powers to fight serious crime and terrorism but this law goes too far. Surveillance should be used against people who are suspected of a crime not the entire UK population.

Here are some of the most worrying parts of the Bill:

Internet Service Providers (ISPs) will be forced to create a record of the websites you visit and the apps you use and keep this data for a year. This information can be analysed without a warrant. The police only need to get internal sign off to look at this data. Government departments, like the Department of Work and Pensions, can look at this data too.
Your communications can be hoovered up by the security services. Tapping undersea fibre-optic cables, GCHQ can record and keep all passing Internet traffic for several days, and metadata for six months.
The police and intelligence agencies can hack into your phone or computer. You don’t have to be suspected of a crime for this to happen. Hacking should be a last resort. It carries massive security risks, which should always be taken into account.
The security services can easily access any public or private database – whether it’s held by DVLA or Tesco. They have admitted that the vast majority of this data will be about people who are not suspected of any crimes. However, through a very broad warrant, they can analyse this information for six months at a time. We are calling for these powers to be limited.

Very scary, time for a completely decentralized internet, come on Maidsafe and Synereo hurry up and code it.

Someone asked me on cryptocopia if the torrent data would be encrypted between users, I sad I imagine so, but I wasn't 100% on this, anyone here care to enlighten me? It would make sense to encrypt traffic between peers and seeds.

Optional stealth addresses for payments so you can't trace payments.

Chats are encrypted. You have to send someone your public keys and then messages are encrypted with your private key.  The other person sees your messages because they have your public keys.

That EA software guy has been tweeting like crazy about vTorrent.

If he keeps this pace up, we'll have a lot more people on board soon.

https://twitter.com/AgentSoft

Any Slack plans guys?
Another question. If vtorrent will be free to
Use what will make its currency gain value then?

Slack is a big no no, they just changed their terms of service, the people who set up the channel are now liable for what content gets posted. Not ideal for a torrent channel, just wait till we get group chat through the client

Yes it will be free to use just like any other client.

As for what gives it value? Off the top of my head, how about selling access to private trackers. Selling access to to rare files or 1080, 4K files or access to that nasty pig porn.
that's the problem with slack so its nice to create a group who's interest is to help developing vtorrent and bring more and more investors
as we knew that this project is really a big one to watched out just needed more and more exposures and for sure it will bring more profits
value will dictate itself.

We are currently at aprox 10.814.000 coins. How long
Will take to reach 20mil as final coin count?

If I recall correctly, like 100 years or some ridiculous number. Not anytime soon at least.

coin inflation is never gonna be a problem.
