There are at least 3 reasons:
1. Cryptopia tells that you shouldn't mine into their wallet (not clear if they know how does raiblocks mining go)
2. Some people may have MRAI in old wallet and want to trade.
3. Some may want to buy and hold. Holding in exchanges is never a good idea.

because it required 1 MARI minimum deposit, you should make a minimum cashout from mining pool atleast 1 MRAI, that is what they meant to be.

It doesn't use much RAM nor CPU, it doesn't use much internet, however, it syncs painfully slow..

I moved away the old blockchain + data because the wallet kept crashing, but there's almost a week and it's still not re-synced.

It's going to take at least 24 hours to sync at the current rate. Could somebody post a link on the board to their database? I see an option in the advanced menu for bootstrapping, but couldn't find any bootstrap available. Thanks.

they are just basing it with thier own opinions or they are just trying to shake those holders to sell Mrai, we really can't say their reason
but Mrai is different from those mine coins so even it have a lots in volume the way to claim it is very difficult now.

The dev probably laid low for a long time. Maybe solving catchpas and building his stash of his own coin. That's fine with me and a pretty smart move as well. In crypto anything is possible and most coins are pure scam, but since January dev. released 5 updates to the wallet.
It's not bad for a dev who doesn't care.
But as I said, crypto is a weird place and anything is possible, but I hope Raiblocks will be ok
