ZClassic is quickly approaching the price of ZenCash. I have to admit I didn't see that coming. I thought ZClassic would be abandoned after ZenCash's success.

Yes ive seen Zclassic rise as well. And i am wondering why Zclassic goes so much up in value?
But i am holding Zen for the long run, so short term prices dont matter too much. Just gives opportunity to mine more without so much competition Smiley

Are there any plans for having a Ledger Nano S support for ZEN? That would benefit the coin very much. If there are no plans in this direction they should be made.

Ledger integration is on the roadmap. See: https://trello.com/c/YqDMF52B/7-ledger-wallet-integration

Great! If I am reading correctly the roadmap the integration with Ledger should happen already at the end of January 2018!

Please explain why the price has increased dramatically but the volume has stayed a little bit low.
https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/zencash/

Probably because of the general bull market. And also Zencash was underpriced. Still under the radar for alot of people, so just a few big ones accumulating would pump the price.
When Zencash is discovered by more people you will probably also see that in the volume as well as a new price.

Does this mean that ZenCash, ZCash, and ZClassic all share the same trusted setup private key?[/b]

Yes, exactly.

+ hush
Were the original private keys destroyed?

You would have to ask the participants of the Zcash trusted setup ceremony.  All of them would have had to collude to keep their keys.  There are many questions about the trusted setup... but at some point you have to trust that it was done properly.  The only way you would know for 100% certainty is if you participated yourself.

There were questions though, so Zcash might do another more elaborate ceremony.  This will not affect Zencash, Zclassic, Hush, and all the rest, as they were forks from the original.

so, do we know when the tracking of node will work again?

it has been days since no reward as been acknoledged by the system :/
Brief update for you all on secure node tracking and payments.

Quote
We've completed just about all the server moves and upgrades - @cronic  did a lot of work on that during the last week.

The first payment run we did about a week ago generated an error and a spurious payment. For these first ones we are going through them carefully to make sure things are going properly. As we get them working well we can speed up and automate the process more.

I have been testing the upgraded payment process using the updated software with @devman on testnet for the last two days.

It looks to me, in my testing with payments on testnet, that we have the right process and enough checks to make sure everything goes well on the mainnet payments. I believe during the server upgrades the secure node tracking status has been maintained for all connected secure nodes, meaning when we do start payments they should go out to everyone that has been running nodes that meet requirements since we first started tracking them.

We both have families so there has also been timeout for the holidays. We are, however, planning on continuing to work over the next few days and as long as at takes to get this working properly.

Thank you for your patience and support as we work through the process, and thank you for operating ZenCash Secure Nodes!
@blockops

Tomorrow 1 pm EST is bi weekly update and we will get more info, and many will have chances to ask questions directly.

The Trusted Setup is a vital part of what makes Zcash work. Zcash is the first coin to use a simplified implementation of a new cryptographic proof called zk-SNARKs (SNARKS for short). These SNARKS are the engine that can quickly and efficiently verify a transaction and add it to the blockchain without revealing any details to the public. The tricky thing about these SNARKS is that (like many algorithms) they need to have a one time setup. And the reason that this setup is called the “Trusted Setup” is because you have to trust that whoever generated those keys destroyed them when they were done.

Does this mean that ZenCash, ZCash, and ZClassic all share the same trusted setup private key?

Sounds like a terrible idea. I hope that isn't the case. Would really appreciate if anyone elaborated.
