Second Official Desktop GUI Wallet Available for ZenCash

ZenCash users need GUI wallets to send private transactions and private messages using Shielded Transactions (also known as z_transactions). There is now an official ZenCash version of the Swing wallet for Linux, and Windows!

The Swing wallet supports the full features of ZenCash, including private transactions and messaging.

The Windows version is available for download, and includes a .exe file that can just be clicked on and run. No separate binaries need to be installed and run, it is a complete package.

Windows Swing Wallet for ZenCash: https://github.com/vaklinov/zencash-swing-wallet-ui/blob/master/docs/Release_0.70.3.md

For Linux the Swing wallet is run as a java -jar file. Instructions and download are here: https://github.com/vaklinov/zencash-swing-wallet-ui

I sent my 42 zen to a wallets receiving address. Only after that I realized that the syncing was not done but showing nan. So did I lose them forever? I like to think I just need to set up a working wallet and use the receiving address and the funds will end up there. Is it so? Gah, tried multiple wallets and eleos either seems to work but does nothing or throws errors at me. I am running windows 7 64-bit, dunno maybe I'll try another pc somewhere.

Stressful.  Huh

Hey guys, could anyone confirm if I will be able to receive my zen using the address they were sent to from bittrex when I finally get eleos working on this or some other pc or are they lost for ever? This is reaally bugging me, tried to get many different versions to sync today with no luck. :/

Come to Slack and join #developer channel to get some 1 - 1 help. They are not lost , don't do anything to the wallet file.

There is now a second official ZenCash wallet - Swing Wallet from Vaklinkov. Will be doing a post and video on it soon. But give this one a try:

With the bubble this big, it will wipe out quite a big portion of all coins capitalization, so ZEN brace yourself!
Just kidding   Grin, I hope not, but we must go down quite a bit to have one again balance between hopes and reality.

I fell like a dumb I bought 170 zen to  15/18$ by unit dammm!! Sad

I think you’ll make your money back at some piont.

The fifth ‘Blockchain incredible Party’ took place in Ukraine several days ago. One of the largest events of its kind in eastern Europe:
https://iohk.io/blog/blockchain-in-ukraine/

Among the speakers were Charles Hoskinson CEO of IOHK, Rob Viglione Co-Founder and Core Team of Zencash, and Professor Roman Oliynykov of IOHK Veritas………All part of Zencash.

Hoskinson talked of the cryptocurrency bubble to which he hopes will wipe out the scam coins; interesting that he’s a big supporter of Zencash.

Oliynykov Talks about a mechanism that provides a pool of funding that allows communities rather than an individual to make decisions; interesting that Zencash just created a non-profit to make decisions as a group instead of any individual.

Charles Hoskinson is a really big name in the Blockchain space, but have you noticed the other advisor they have onboard?
Steven Nerayoff, he is a serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist. Here is a quote from him:

“I'm very selective on who I attach my name to in an official capacity. I focus my efforts on companies I believe will dominate their portion of the crypto sector”

Research the people involved in this company – some pretty big names.

Research how they are setting this up in the early stages – They are laying the groundwork for Zencash to be here when many of the other coins are worthless or just gone.

Research what they are building – Unlike some of the other coins that target specific groups, this one is applicable to everyone; individuals, corporations, various organizations, countries, etc. Also, they are not starting from scratch, they are taking the core of a successful program and improving it.

I’m terrible at buying in at the bottom which is why I’m not a trader. And I’m like some of the others here, I’m in at a higher price and get tired of the price going down and seeing a sea of red when looking at the market history. What I have noticed though is that the sellers are generally small (but there seems to be an infinite amount of them) while there are many large buyers at the bid accumulating and willing to wait.

I’ve got to admit though, I’m tired of seeing red; I’m ready to see green. The company is going to have to prove themselves before buying really starts in earnest.

I don't like to give financial advice, but i would just hold , current price doesn't reflect in any shape real potential of the coin.

42, yes. But the secure nodes are not even close to be implemented, yet. The picture above isn't true. I'd expect the secure nodes to be live in Q4 2017 in my own personal opinion.

That's not trolling at all. At a certain price point, I'd personally invest in both, and some other coins in the privacy category. At $30 Zcash was a great buy, at $400 less so, it's now down to $280 or somewhere. But given the inflation (in both coins, mind) I'd be pretty scared of $250 worth of downside risk. Personally I see ZEN at $5 having a better balance of upside and downside risk. I'd certainly say invest in Zcash, just not at the present price and I suppose it may never drop to a price low enough that I'd be comfortable buying.

i may sound like a troll for this question but

why invest in zencash if you can invest in zcash?

Read the white paper to see the improvements over zcash:
https://zensystem.io/

They are bootstrapping this project (No ICO); the higher the price of ZEN, the more money they have to pay employees.

Business/marketing/Financial people running the company; they’re hiring the programmers (some volunteers). They’re not going to build it and hope they come, they will seek out the people/organizations who want this type of currency.

Charles Hoskinson, co-founder and ex CEO of Ethereum is supporting this project.

The price has been pummeled (for various reasons) and is very cheap now.

It’s only been out for a month so all the accomplishments are yet to come.

Glad to see ZEN up nearly 4% today while the overall market's down by about the same amount. I was nervous earlier, although I did not let on. I'm feeling increasingly comfortable with the outlook for ZEN here.

Also i think Team should take some time for redesign of opening page.
Hire an graphic designer who can make miracle for small money. All major information are there but they must be more noticeable, if you are not sure how we can find few examples how others are doing this..

Also every news, update shoud be more atractive with logo used.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/cloakcoin-avatar-campaign-paused-1707917 - an example how we did this in Cloak team.

All members included shoud be listed on the first page with description what is their job in team.

Create signature and logo which can be used for signature-avatar campaign, and consider about one in near future, maybe when nodes becomes ready.

Blog update:   Why is the zen price not going up right now

https://blog.zensystem.io/why-is-the-zen-price-not-going-up-right-now/

Quote

On of the comments I see a lot on the ZenCash slack is from people who are unhappy that the price of ZEN has been going down. They want us to do something to immediately change the trajectory of the price.

People are involved with ZEN for many different reasons. One is for investing with the expectation that the price will go higher, either in the short term, or long term. That’s good, we need people like that! Many people are involved because they believe the ZenCash team and community has the ability to make a cryptocurrency that is focused on both privacy and usability. We need people like that too!

The more people that are involved with a cryptocurrency, the more people will buy it, and the more the price will go up. That’s why we are working through our plan that we wrote up and published, why we are translating the white paper into many different languages, and are working to internationalize our website. We want ZenCash to be used by people worldwide for private transactions, communications, and publishing.

It takes time to create a system for people to use worldwide. We are working on the fundamentals, building the team, updating wallets, updating the website, improving and increasing marketing and social media, and doing as many things we can think of to increase the value of the cryptocurrency. It appears to be somewhat stable now, which helps us figure out our budgets for these expenses.

At the same time, there are speculators who do their best to make the price go up and down so they can make profits by buying low and selling high. That’s all part of the crypto world. Speculators (pumpers and dumpers) have their place as well.

What we as a management team work to do is make steady progress, telling people about the improvements we are making, and work to build the vision we described in the white paper.

What we do not want to do is overpromise, hype, or look like we are creating artificial supply contstraints like other cryptos do in order to reduce the float of available trading ZEN. People see through that type of activity. It’s just an artificial lockup, and does not increase the value of the system overall.

Because of mining, there are 216,000 new ZEN created each month. We need to do our part as a team and a community to get demand to be high enough so people buy all those ZEN every month, and want even more.

We are definitely working to add to our marketing team so we will have more articles, more videos, more social media, more entries on Bitcointalk, and other types of activity that drive engagement, excitement, and awareness. We can’t get it all done at once in a way that creates an immediate price rise that many people seem to want, but we will get it done.

You are going to see consistent, accelerating progress from ZenCash. Over time this progress will be reflected in the price. Thank you for your support!
