I only wish those people who win the lottery can receive the money as its promise. It should attract attention from people to vaccinated without thinking about the lottery because that will be for their health and prevent the virus. If they win, that will be good because they can fill their needs with that money. If that lottery is like a coupon to buy food in grocery stores, they do not have to spend their own money instead of using that coupon.

What do you think about the launch of this Vaccination Lottery? Can it attract the other countries to follow what USA and Romania did?
For people who dont have much, this is a good offer already because they will get something in return. Thus, the idea of having a chance to win in lottery can really encourage the citizen to get vaccinated.

We know some people are still hesitant to get themselves vaccinated because of their worries on side effects that might occur and the fear of how safe it is. But the government of Romania is doing what they can to encourage their citizen. This is the answer to change their mind and comply because its for their own safety while having an incentives for doing it.

I think if our country will do the same, many people might bite the offer, but I doubt they will come up with this kind of idea.

It's a good strategy to encourage people to get vaccinated. That's a huge amount of prize and it isn't a joke so I'm sure that lots of Romanian citizens would get hooked on it. I hope that our country would also do the same or at least provide enough vaccines for us so we could control the never-ending cases of covid cases here.

It seems that the Vaccination Lottery program can attract people to register so that the government's target in reducing the number of people infected with Covid-19 can succeed. Maybe after this, there will be other countries that will follow. What do you think about the launch of this Vaccination Lottery? Can it attract the other countries to follow what USA and Romania did? Is that be a good way to attract attention from people to have vaccination because that teach them to use lottery to make money which we know that lottery is part of gambling.

Rich countries or first world countries that can avail of vaccines first can do that kind of lottery but not for poor countries where people are dying because they cannot get vaccinated because of the priority list, there are people dying because they are unvaccinated and they are coming from poor countries, rich countries are on their second or third dose but in a poor country majority are still lining up.

The problem with vaccination is that lots of fake information are being spread all around the media which creates a bias among these anti-vaxxers. Though calling them 'stupid' is far fetched, the right term for them is that they are badly 'misinformed' about the efficacy and effectivity of vaccines.

Since the government cannot compel its citizens to get vaccinated, it may, however, and in the interest of the general welfare, provide incentives for people who are vaccinated. In addition, the government can also impose strict mandates that relatively limit the movement of people who are unvaccinated that would somehow compel the latter to get vaccinated.

This is one of those news that the government provides incentive for people who are vaccinated and I hope countries would pattern this example out.

How good to offer this , in some countries specially in Asian countries in which giving groceries but this gives them tickets to choose what they want to buy in groceries .

Since most of the non-vaccinated seem to be now in the rural areas, with lower income, this is quite something.
And yes, it's nice that they can buy almost anything from that money (I know that alcohol and tobacco are not allowed, but that should not be a big issue).

Several countries are doing the same thing and attracting their citizens to participate in the Covid-19 vaccination, and in the country where I live there are various ways in some areas to get their citizens interested in being vaccinated and the lure of getting doofrize, money, basic necessities and so on.
and the way this initiative works is very effective because it can attract those who are afraid and don't want to be vaccinated for some reason change their mind, and whatever the reason is because of gifts or money, the important thing is that they are vaccinated for their health and to return to normal life.

Finally, another country, namely Romania, launched a Vaccination Lottery for the public. It is hoped that this will encourage people to participate in the Romanian government's vaccination program. The amount provided by the Romanian government is RON15,000,000 ($3.5m).

This is good news for people and this lottery also aims to encourage vaccination and each participant will have four chances of winning. In addition, the government also agreed to make regulations for people who are eligible to be vaccinated to receive a meal voucher worth RON100.

The target of Romania was absolutely good but my question is that why lottery? because, isn't that some of the people who will participated in it will do that only because of the lottery not for the government's vaccination program, just a thought only. Not saying I am against with their objective. Just asking and wanna know the truth.

This will attract people to get vacinated faster, some people that are not vaccinated can latter decide to get vaccinated if many of their people like families and friends have vacinatted, the average and people that are not having money especially those not having enough will not think about this twice and go for it and taking it can encourage others.

With what I have read on the thread also, there is a reply that people that are vacinatted are given 100 RON (~20 EUR), this is a very good move by the Romania government, but most other countries will not follow this than to just encourage their citizens to take the vaccine.

if i come to remember it correct Romania is the 3rd country (That become viral) in which uses a Lottery to attract more people to get vaccinated .

Romania is not a Third world country, They are located on Europe and they have a good GDP compared to the real 3rd world country outside EU. They are just poor and weak compared to other country inside EU but they are still rich compared outside EU. This kind of lottery system just to get people vaccinated is proof that they have enough money for there citizen safety, Here in our country which is the real third world country, We have limited supply of vaccine and vaccination has a priority list before  normal can get it especially on poor municipality.
as far as i understand ? He means third country in because there are 2 other countries that do this lottery to lure people to take the vaccine  and not because they are a third world country .
I think that actually it's not the lottery that may "inspire" more people get the vaccine in Romania.
One additional "detail" is that those getting the vaccine in these last months of 2021 will also receive 100 RON (~20 EUR) tickets they can use in supermarkets (in theory, for food).
The hugely rising numbers of infected people filling all the news also did their part.

The number of newly vaccinated is rising from lows under 5000/day in August to 15-20000 (and rising) lately.

It is hoped that this will encourage people to participate in the Romanian government's vaccination program.
As literacy rate got nothing do with willingness to go forward for covid vaccination, government are coming up with such idea to make people covid vaccinated. Even in my country, social activity groups have announced assured gifts for getting vaccinated. But, lottery with prize money in millions for covid vaccination must be something more interesting to watch.
So far it isnt really still available on our country where there's some lottery benefits on where citizens could have when they do took some vaccine.Just like on what others been saying that
this is really some sort of good initiative or step from the government which some people do see it to be a desperate move but we know that this is really just a good way
on making people interested on getting vaccinated despite of the doubts that they have but same as mentioned above that i doubt that it would really be effective.

The people of Romania are lucky to have a government that rewards them for getting vaccinated, not all countries can do that especially in a third world country where everybody wants to take a vaccine but they cannot because of the limited supply, there's a big discrepancy between the rich and poor country, the rich countries are on their booster shot which is the third shot but in a third world many do not even have their first dose.

Most governments are operating casino or at least lotteries for revenue generations hence it is being a gambling or not is complete out of contest. This way, lottery gambling is helping government to fight against covid through vaccination hence we should welcome when more countries will be copying this idea.

It can attract other countries to follow but the question is, are people will really encourage especially with those strong stands that they don't want to be vaccinated.
It is maybe their government's concern, so the lottery programs are one thing that they think can succeeding the vaccinated their people. If people are attracted to follow the vaccination and almost all people want to be vaccinated, at least the government vaccination program can succeed.

Romania, a country with a low currency compared to other third world countries, alternative lottery to attract people to be vaccinated, the government played a drama for certain interests in the Lottery, vouchers worth RON100 were never received by people who took part in the vaccination Lottery competition.

That's not good you don't scam your people just like that if you cannot deliver then don't promise the administration that promises that will eventually lose in the election, the government should just encourage vaccination through information disseminate, not scamming them here in our country we don't resort to that majority of the people wants to be vaccinated as soon as possible, only the scarcity of the vaccine will not let them.

What I think is that the motivation to get vaccinated should be based on scientific reasons, not on the hope of winning the lottery, whose probability is approximately 0.
Well, I must say, the majority of the people would rather have money slapped on their face really, rather than science. It's a nice incentive anyhows, nothing really wrong with them doing something like that, even if people don't believe on the reasoning behind the vaccine, at the very least, there's something else that can push them to vaccinate. And I'd say it's higher than 0 mate, else lotteries wouldn't even exist since no one actually wins.
So this really had been the trend now? Having that lottery for people to get vaccinated? Im not really against with this idea but for sure it wont really be enough for people to get some vaccine shots.
Hey if it works, it works. Especially since most countries are opening up now, people really need to get vaccinated for most stuff to return to normal properly.

Does this really encouraged people to take the vaccine?
I mean If you guys have any link of result reports about the Pfizer vaccine lottery (I forgot which country it was), and this one as well, kindly share it here.

If these vaccines can really makes us inmune to covid related viruses, then I guess having the dose of vaccine is more than enough than winning the lottery, because life/health is more valuable than money.
However, I won't blame the people anyway because there were conspiracy theories and even claims about the deaths after the vaccine.

If I'm not mistaken mate I think you are referring to Poland which offers their constituents a lottery with a 1million zlotys ($273000) prize awaits to encourage their people to get a shot of vaccine. I think there's nothing wrong by applying this kind of strategy that the government think best reward for the people whoever wanted to get a dose of vaccine but we don't know if this kind of strategy really effective. I mean each and every country has their specific strategy to attract people to get vaccinated since more people are afraid to get vaccinated because of the death claims after getting a dose.

Hope that Romania will get their target support and response from their people as this should be a mandatory if will allow by laws to totally stops this Virus from spreading and killing more and more people around the world.

I judge that the vaccine that is injected into the community is not based on covid-19 and their own awareness, there are other elements that want the vaccine to be consumed within a certain period of time.

Romania, a country with a low currency compared to other world countries, alternative lottery to attract people to be vaccinated, the government played a drama for certain interests in the Lottery, vouchers worth RON100 were never received by people who took part in the vaccination Lottery competition.

Lack of understanding about vaccination and covid-19, made the Romanian government turn around so that its people must be vaccinated, all actions and the main brain of china.
