Hi all!

Is this miner like de crazy s3 beeper of all beeps? i got s1 and beeps, s2 not much beeps, s3 is the king as it's waking me up in the night, few times/week!

I need a quiet miner for a family member with not so deep pockets and in need of heat!

Is this miner a beeper like s3?

Thank you!

I've never ever heard mine beep. And looking at my pictures, I don't think there even is a buzzer on them because they're BBB based.

Does voltage changing should change power consumption? This is not present in my case.

Not on all S3s, and probably on even less C1s. They don't all have variable voltage control.

Hi

Now I have 850W at 1000GH at 0720 voltage with 250 MHz freq

I use SD-C1-20141126.tar.gz firmware and try down voltage to 0600 with 100Mhz freq, save and restart.

But energy efficency is the same - about 0.85 W/GH  - 322 Watt / 400 GH

I want 0.5 - 0.6 W/GH,   so I want 200-240 Watt at 400GH

Is it possible with Antminer C1 ?

Does voltage changing should change power consumption? This is not present in my case.

Seems like as long as the SD card is good, the C1 is a very reliable miner. I had some issues with mine on startup but wiping the SD card and uploading Dogie's original disk image got me up and running.

Anyone have better uptime yet?

I think my second unit would have had a higher one if I'd taken a screenshot, but I turned off its PSU to move it circuits Sad

Perfect. Everything is running pretty well now. I probably will pick up the molex to 3-PIN connector and ditch the harness all together. This is my first water-cooling experience.. I have wanted to do a PC for years decided to try it out on a C1 first.

I have had my molex to 3 pin for weeks now and it is a great way to power it.   Amazon has them, frozen cpu also has them.

You can connect directly into your power supply. But check the pinout on your power supply to be sure your have a 12v and a ground. If not you can simply move the wire in the pci connector. In my case I moved the 2 wire in the center position.

My syscool's wire harness came with a 6PIN MALE PCI-E connection. Per the videos and guide we are suppose to connect this internally on the miner? My C1 doesn't have this connection available internally. Is everyone just plugging directly on to one of the open 12V PCI-E connectors on the boards?

Also, first initial runs and tests I am having a HIGH reject percentage of around 8 - 10% on antpool. What are other's seeing?

Yes they need a watercooling kit.  You could build it yourself.  But you will always need watercooling with C1.

Thanks guys, much appreciated for the info. Sounds like an interesting build for a miner for sure.

Thanks notlist3d and dogie,

I will wait for new firmware that Bitmain will have to post due to some broken miners that may have gotten shipped.
Also, because I have no energy and time left budgeted for this miner over this weekend.

My only frustration is is that despite known problems in shipped miners, Bitmain has not reacted promptly to provide easy solutions to problems like firmware.

My C1 is operational for now though I have to run it at lower speed and manage it with stupid alternatives  e.g. saving miner configuration still does not make all pools operational, (it is random but limited to first pool dead in most cases).
I have to run cgminer from command shell using ssh to make it work.

Thanks for your advise Tupsu, will keep that in mind and that precious link.

regards

The problem you described appears to be a bad SD card which isn't going to be fixed with new firmware.

I just read this entire thread.  I have a solo setup and previously had an S1 on it with no issues and I cannot get the C1 to work. It works with other pools no problem but no matter what I have tried it always comes up "dead" on the C1 . The S1 for the URL I just had x.x.x.x:port and then it would add the http:// on front and work fine (mostly/bit flaky still).. the C1 adds the "stratum+tcp://"  and even when I set it to http://*.*.*.*:port it still shows up as dead.  Is there something different that needs to be done in the C1s?

This quoted post is the only thing I found semi similar but even in different pool slots other than #1 it still is always dead.  Everything else is taken care of ie node is fine and other miners including S1 connect fine and ip is in the rpcallow in the conf. Any ideas..  it is 11/26 firmware

My own server has worked exactly 1 time in the last few days of messing with it.. then I changed another unrelated setting and reapplied and poof... hasn't worked again since. S1's work absolutely no problem.  I even switch IPs between S1/C1 no matter what the C1 just shows up dead pool for no reason I can see. Pretty sure whatever the problem is it is the C1... This is absolutely pissing me off.

This morning C1 stopped hashing, check the pictures. Please advice
Miner continued working without any maintenance... strange for me. If anyone had this problem please advice what should i do next time with this kind of problem.

If you see it again, reflash the SD card with the image in #2 of this thread. Looks SD card based.

interested want buy c1, i want ask.. if im buy c1 ready for use..im mean no need buy watecooling kit ?

Batch 2 C1 includes a watercooling kit so you don't have to buy it separately, but you must install it to run C1.

I guess the real question is, do they really need a watercooling kit or is it not truly necessary? To me this just adds more expense to a unit adding more time before it pays itself off.

Absolutely yes, do not attempt to run without it.

Hello guys .
special greetings to Mr. dogie

firstly, I would like to thank you for your great installing guide which helped me a lot to install my c1 miner .
secondly , I realy want your assisstance to make my miner mine .
I'm very new to mining so please have patience guys if you see any silly questions  Grin .

my c1 miner is 2nd batch with cooling kit .
I'm useing 2 cooler master psu's (  620 watts & 725 watts , 85% efficiency ) to power the miner .

I connected 4 pci's to the miner ( 2 from 620 +2 from 725  in one line ) . the cooling system is working fine .
but the miner is not mining . I connected the miner directly to my labtop using ethernet cable following your  guide .
the first thing I've noticed is that If my labtop is connected to the miner with a cable , it can not connect to the internet using wifi .
I logged to the setting page on 192.168.1.99 to change the worker name to my username.1,
then change network settings to dhcb . then I connected the miner to the internet cable but it doesn't mine . I note that when I turn on the miner
it lights red around 1 minute .

I have no idea how to find the miner page after changing the ip adress to dhcb, but I can fing what ip is assigned to my labtop if I connect it to the intenet cable .

Look for the device in your router, it will be waiting there. You probably set the pool settings wrong, will need a screenshot.
