Guys worried about seeing when the unit is mining on the dev pool - just look at your pools priority under miner status. Your  pool priorities will be 0,1 and 2 when the miner is on your pools - 2,3,and 4 when mining for Blissz.

Since this thread is about increasing efficiency (via firmware) I would like it if we could also discuss a little about pools as these seem to really play a big role in the profitability of this D3.

I have tried p2pool, started well then dropped off rapidly to pure loss making.
Tried Supranova.cc - not so good
Tried zpool - seems to be the best so far, though its method of moving around x11 coins mining seems to be random instead of picking the most prifitable.

Blissz - please pop a firmware upgrade that can cause my D3 to mine BTC, BCH, DASH, LTC, Eherium at 500TH/s  Grin Grin Grin

Thanks for the work
Zpool is not random, it´s math.
when he switch to a pool that has a nethash from 100GH and he put only 200GH in this pool is more effective then assign 500GH.
and sometimes it´s more profitable to mine a coin that is cheaper, but with low nethash you will gain more.

this is not a mining software itself, only a firmware mod ,

it does not deserve the developer's fee, and this is also a hidden charge, no one can be sure from it.

also  the development process is still ongoing and it does not  provide additional revenue.

If the algorithm was added, the developer fee was completely worth it.

seems as ,  it uses the units for experimantal   and take share from  the profit from them hiddenly

the common thing , mining  software takes shares the profit. No one give lifetime profit share to modding.

do not confuse the minds please.

Its not hidden you can see it in the kernal log, its also on the top level post.  If you don't think the dev is worth it for 'just a mod' of the firmware, then don't pay it just use bitmain stock firmware, no is forcing you to use it.  Honestly if he could actually add additional algo's to the miner he could charge a lot more then 1.5% dev fee.

Why hidden charge, only because the devpools are not more on the list?
They was there in the beginning, but people start compare the share numbers and not the time the devpools was used, and when you use SSH or Awesome Miner, you can see the Devpools!
and this Firmware is worth the 1.5% fee, because you save or make more then 1.5% money when use it.

I still believe the kernel log is an ok place for the dev fee info, but I will make an option for it later.
Out of curiosity, why do you feel this way?  I find it annoying that any dev would want to suppress transparency when it comes to 'this is what it will cost you to run my software'.  Every person here is most concerned with profit/cost, which is why we use your software.  I just don't understand what an honorable reason could be for not putting cost front and center.  If the software is worth it, people will pay.  That's not a bad thing.  I'll still be your customer, and a happier one at that.

Sorry, didn't realize I could flash remotely. Thought I had to pull the controller and use an SD card on the Beaglebone ARM. Tried remote flashing, works great, so I'm happy I can keep up with your new versions remotely.

Still interested in your thoughts for ideal settings for a data center environment.

It really depends on the power costs per kwh. But probably 17 Mh/s per unit (needs a voltage setting ~5 to ~9 I think) would be a sweet spot. It keeps things a bit cooler compared to the default firmware and makes sure you will have less failing units over a period of 2 years I would say.

Blissz sorry if I interrupting you, but can you please fix basic things on your FW?
I flashed again last version 02.12 FW on all miners last night. Now I dont have previous problem when part of D3 miners hashing on backup pool every 1 hour, current problem is that more than half D3 miners doing hashing on backup pool without reason, primary pool is alive and still more than half miners are on backup pool.

prohashing is your main pool? Seems there is something strange going on with that pool actually... Please pm me your kernel log of on of those miners and a screenshot of your miner status window. Thanks

Exactly the same behavior is with Antpool.
And only for those who work with your software.

And when do you put back yours dev pools on the front page ?

I will have a look at this. Maybe the settings for switching pools when work is not provided fast enough is, is a bit too nervous now for some pools. Thanks for sharing this.

I still believe the kernel log is an ok place for the dev fee info, but I will make an option for it later. For now autotune each hashing board got top priority.

I'm preparing 50 D3s to go into a colocation center, so I will be able to tweak and administer them remotely via Awesome Miner, but will not be able to reflash with new FW once I send them out. I seek max reliable output over a 24-30 month useful lifetime but don't care about noise, heat or energy consumption (since they will be kept cool and I have a reasonable electricity cost contract).

Is there a setting between stock performance and max performance that is reliable long-term and still increases output (including Dev fee)?

Is the current version solid? Is there an update coming in a few days that would be worth the wait?

Thanks!

My elec is fairly expensive ($0.2/kwh), but I've managed to get approx 126% ratio (MH/S RT) through cryptocompare. Here are the settings if anyone is interested.

The power usage is 812W.

My D3 sounded like a rocket ship at first, but it's incomparably better with this mod. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your settings / power usage. This seems like a good balance between power usage / hashrate / noise. Good job!

I have tested my Stock  D3,  at 19 GHs  and 1145W.....  its mined around 11 ONX (Onix),  in 24h,  at zpool.ca

What coin (x11) are you mining at what pool / profit per day it rewards ? , i think Nicehash is the best option atm.

You get no answers, is it? It is because no one shares any secret, because they are so desperate to make a little to recover their investment on D3 that included me, since Shitmain flooded the market.

I don't expect making so big business with this D3.... but just looking the best option for getting  profit... atm  11 ONX per day... around 330 ONX per month  at 0,50 $ per ONX  its 165$,  that cover  electricty cost  (0,14 cents per kW/h)  and give a little profit !

P.D If ONX will goes up to 1$ per coin, profit will be higher
where do you get onx (onixcoin) ?
