Hi blissz,  firmware made a big difference to my temps and the noise reduction is God sent thank you, but then at random one of my d3's was overheating 100 degrees+.   I noticed the fan speed being around 2000rpm instead of 3800-4500rpm.

I flashed official bitmain firmware on that machine then few hours later one of the other d3's did the same after a network interruption and coming back online again that machine also stuck at around 2000rpm resulting in 100 degrees+ and super high hardware errors.

Please look into this issue as the firmware really makes a difference, but is not worth the risk if the fan gets stuck at 2000rpm.  The red light on the machine flashes instead of the green when this happens.

Rebooting fixes the stuck 2000rpm fan issue temporarily.  It will happen on any of the fan profiles as well as when I set a custom fan speed of 50%.  It seems it might have something to do with when the fan speeds are suppose to spin up loud at startup, since it's quiet at startup now I think it gets stuck there and never ramps up again to the desired fanspeed but stays stuck at that 2000rpm mark.

Havs anyone else encountered this?

That's annoying I am going to look into this. can you show me the minerstatus web interface if that occurs? It might give me some info what's going on on your side
edit: the kernel log is really useful too, please pm me the info so I can fix this. Thanks!

You should try Zpool or multipool or NichHash to get better ROI by the look of your image I see. Thanks

Really need to make dev pool NOT run immediately after start. Makes troubleshooting pool settings REALLY difficult.  Just wasted a ton of time at my expense just trying to get some pools configured.

Take that into account in next update now that it's been mentioned a couple times please!

Can this firmware set zero RPM for both fans (power off fans)?

Hi Blissz, thanks for the wonderful firmware.

I have 1 suggestion

Can you make target temperature for the chip?

Example

Hot Day, Chip temp is 75C / Fan speed 5000RPM
Cold Day, Chip temp is 75C / Fan speed 3000RPM

Meaning the temp will always stay 75C

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I have to say thankyou for all the responses and help.

I have gone back to using the bitmain firmware as I am able to modify it enough to get stable working enviornment.

As a former gamer and modifier I appreciate all the work done on this project. However, at this point I can't get behind it. It's not producing returns that require it.

Please, no desrespect to Blissz. I thank you/him for  his/your help. I would have been lost trying to get my machines up and running if it wasnt for his mod and this thread.

I'll defintely be sticking around to see the progress.

Thank you to all.

To follow up on my original post. I am now mining exclusively on nicehash. wasn't my first choice but its working and others aren't working.
Have you tried zpool?

Thanks for the great work, for me it's being better to keep d3 off for now.

Blissz i suggest an option about HW errors.
Can you make it custom. Say i want to reboot only when i have 1000 errors in total or on a specific board

I will add it to the poll. Thanks for the suggestion

Hi blissz,

AUTO REBOOT xxxxxxxxx did not work

https://imgur.com/a/bcSo6

I advice to upgrade.
It takes 2 minutes to kick in + you need to have auto reboot enabled in the advanced screen. A kernel log would be nice as well. Thanks

maybe because i used at my test old version: Antminer-D3-20171123_1-blissz.tar

Yes, I have ticked it before (Automatic Reboot on low hashrate detection), but AUto reboot does not run, I leave the machine running at night and go to sleep, the morning wake up the error xxxxxxxxx....

The same here... auto-reboot didn't work with 1 chain showing xxxxxx (using the latest 23/11 version)

I think you did an awesome job with the firmware
And is there an offset for all the temps is that why they are all higher then they should be
cause its around -7c outside and its blowing cold air out of the D3

just had a question for everyone though is there an auto turn off or a minimal temp for the D3

Hi, Blissz, any clues why dev miner mines so much?
It's well over 10%, as you can see in 2 examples, 2 diff D3 miners.

Don't look at the shares count as it makes no sense. It's really 1.5% of the time. Check your kernel log for the proof
