This is good news. I hope they don't stop selling them like last time Bitmain put out a Scrypt ASIC Miner.

Bitmain AFAIK never actually sold their previous Scrypt design - announced they were working on one then dropped it.

Yes probably in March or so.

Has anyone a link to 'clarify' this? I'd like it to be true....could use a 'reprieve' of a month or more....KNC Titans don't ya know...on the other hand
current L3 owners would also likely want such to happen Smiley

It sounds like jstefanop was told it would be another month before he could place his order.  So that sounds like there will be short reprieve before the next wave hits.  So it is looking like Inno's mention of 3 months with no competition is going to be correct.  Quite interesting.

Well it looks like we have leaked photos and prices on the internet for the next miner to be released by Bitmain.  The Antminer L3, 250mhs scrypt miner, 400watts at the wall.

Looks like Alibaba and some of the alternate channels are pricing it around $2300, which probably means a price near $1800-1900 directly from Bitmain. Just my guess.  Looks like things are about to heat up in the Scrypt mining world.

My personal L3 has been running for a few weeks. Not 1 issue been running very smooth solid and with very few HW errors I think it can even be overclocked pretty easily

Most likely anyone with some feedback is true. They bought them cheap and now they are selling on profit.

I see a lot of listings on aliexpress and alibaba, how do you know which one's real or BS when they all have decent feedback history :S

So looks like they are still waiting on fab for chips on their next batch, and they are saying another month before they can place my bulk older. I'll update here when I get more info.

The L3's are stable and work very well.  The copyright screen doesn't affect the miner at all.  It was just a curious observation that the date was so old.  But as someone else noted it is the same on the S9's and other Bitmain miners so probably does not mean anything.

Something I just noticed today is the copyright at the bottom of the screen on my L3's.  The miner software is copyright 2013-2014.  So it would seem that Bitmain has been sitting on the scrypt mining software for a while.  Just thought I would pass that along as food for thought.   Grin
They just have not bothered to change that.
Even my S9s and R4s say the same.

My guess is they copied the same miner GUI page from miner to miner and they don't have someone on staff actually updating it.

Does it affect the mining stability and hash rate?
No. Why would the copyright text affect the mining?  Cheesy

I'm pretty sure Inno also has/had farm.

Bitmain still hasn't released the L3 on their main site, but perhaps all the production is being run on Nicehash!
https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=miners&addr=1Ad1CZ8uwK6aC3DGnCPPM5DzsLRX25DU8c

At the time of this writing, this single address had 1,215 miners deployed against it for 215.6GH of scrypt mining!  That's probably approaching USD$2M of retail mining equipment.

No effect on the miners, just seemed odd to see such an old copyright on what is supposed to be a brand new miner.  But if it is like that on the S9 and others then they are at least consistent! LOL

They probably mined in house with the L1 all these years. Figures.

kinda lost on the above..what I meant was will the BM 1485 now be used in ASIC BTC MINERS as a more advanced asic chip or is the BM 1485
scypt specific asic (assuming that bm 1385 in now btc miners is equiv asic chip that can do above)

The BM 1485 is Scrypt specific.

The ONLY company that ever made chips that could do both Scrypt and SHA256 was Gridseed (SFards was the merger of GridSeed and WiBox).
Their first chip (the  GC3355) persisted in Scrypt for a long time due to very little competition and to Scrypt being a more complicated algorytmn that could not be sped up as much by semiconductor process improvements as SHA256 could.
They VERY quickly became obsolete in SHA256 usage because they were surpassed very quickly by a LOT - the second chip they did was already behind the SHA256 curve when they released it.
That second chip never made an impact in Scrypt because the MINER it was sold in was total junk design at the board level and badly overpriced, and appears to have only had one batch ever manufactured for sale.

I suspect there are no L3's posted to the Bitmain US site because they've already sold out on the ones they made from their first batch of chips, and they're in "have to wait" mode for the second batch of chips.
Litecoin difficulty has been VERY flat the last couple weeks indicating very few if any new machines being sold to ANYONE.

Diff was flat becuase big ammount of has was moved to one other coin.
