Well I tried to get a deal setup to get some L3's from a factory rep in China. Sadly I don't see a way to get the deal done and protect the interests of the buyer. They are offering a really good price, but you have to pay with a wire transfer.
Frankly there is no way to validate that this person is who they say they are. I have spoken to other people from the same company through Alibaba regarding the L3's so I assume that is why they tried to reach me outside of Alibaba. But there is just no way that I can find a way to secure the deal and ensure the buyer won't get taken to the cleaners.
When I pressed about taking the deal back to Alibaba they tell me it is a 35% price increase due to the fees and related costs of using Alibaba. So they didn't want to do that. I tried to find a way we could use a credit card. He says there is a way to do that, but I couldn't get him to tell me the process to get that done.
So I finally just had to call it quits and politely say I will wait for Bitmain to offer them for sale. I will keep everyone posted if something changes, but for right now it looks like the deal is dead. It is too bad. It really sounded like a good deal if we could figure out how to get it done and everyone's interests are protected.
no worries, honestly, it seems to me like you handled it the best way you could, and that the only decision you had for community protection was to walk away :/
Those who want the miners ASAP can pay the premium, and snag them from alibaba, but lord knows its gonna be a shitshow anyways between difficulty and price of LTC over next few months.
For once i am happy i heehawed over pulling the trigger on the purchase of an A4, i LOVE my A2's, but now will wait it out for the "dust to settle" personally
