obviously this was used for quite some time... dust from renovation looks absolutely different..

those pics indicate months of use, and they did say units are new and only seen days of use.  we should all support the member as right is right.  hopefully Bitmain takes care of the issure, which i think they will but I also thing they might not if people are so indifferent.  I dont want a used machine, and no one wants a heavily used machine which might die too soon...

Previously on UPS: "Won't get no toy till Tuesday"

UPDATE, now that's a cliffhanger: "Scheduled Delivery: Scheduled delivery information is not available at this time. Please check back later."

It is about 200 km / 125 miles away from me now. If they don't ship tomorrow I'm gonna kill them Roll Eyes

Arrived - Lyon St Exupery Aeroport, France, Monday, 27.01.2014

My local hub for delivery is Geneva, Switzerland

Please do, all of them. Suggest starting with the people responsible for the aircraft breakdown. Smiley

Same for me - same for everyone?

I suspect a software issue... let's hope so.

All my other UPS deliveries in transit through Köln have been shipped the next day.
I really can't see why this one would be different.

If this is for real, I'll call them tomorrow to know what's the holdup with these shipments.
So many delays, it's just abnormal...
It's the way of UPS. My first Antminer test order was shipped on the 13th and supposed to arrive on the 15. Instead it arrived at the closest UPS hub at 9am on the 15th, and just missed the flight to my city. So they waited until the next day, when there was adverse weather conditions and nothing moved despite clear roads and skies at both endpoints and every city in between. It finally showed up late Friday afternoon on the 17th, taking twice as long as it should have.

My last order was relatively smoother, but still had issues. It shipped on the 21st and was supposed to arrive on the 23rd. On the 23rd it arrived in the hub city at 7:41 in the morning, but at 10:30am there was a Late airplane exception. It sat there for the rest of the day and then eventually made it's way to my city on the 24th. I had called ahead and prepaid the taxes and gave them special instructions to leave my packages in a secure spot on the 23rd, but on the 24th they made the delivery attempt that wasn't successful because no one was there to pay the tax I'd paid the day before. I managed to convince UPS to give me the phone number for the local dispatcher so luckily I convinced her to fix the problem and have the driver swing by at the end of his shift, otherwise it would have been Monday the 27th before I got mine.

They are just a useless courier. I wish Bitmain used FedEx.

What version number do you have written on this AntMiner? I have several (from 3 different revisions) and all of them have been pristine clean.

Mine also looked similar to this one... still no word back on my busted fan...  communication has never really been bitmains strongest trait..  but would like my issue to be resolved sooner than later.

I for one believe it's part of the hazards that we miners must accept, and write off the loss,
I generally agree, but it's also one of the reasons why we shouldn't be willing to pay prices which are too close to the border of profitability... there are a whole bunch of risks associated with operating mining equipment, including shipping snafus.

If a core dev like you is following this thread, then we mustn't be that much off target with our purchase Cheesy

I would agree, but if you buying more than one miner and waiting time for it is more than it should be all profitability disappear.
For us who buying more gear there is always risk but price in this case is something which can put off even big players.
Dont know how long BITMAIN was running miners before selling them to us but within short period price dropped from 3btc to 1.9btc.
This means that this gear is still overpriced.
Probably beggining of february we will see gear for 1.5 maybe less.
Or they will introduce new gear which will be sky high for normal people to buy.

I think you have a point. Evidence seems to show with little doubt that they have mined at least weeks with the gear they sell now. Even if they say days ("burnin' yeah"), it's up to everyone to figure out what the truth is. But I think the profitability outcome (i.e. break even or not) will mainly depend on how fast CoinTerra, Bitmine and KnCMiner will be shipping. 28nm and lower processes seem to be the real threat to 2W+ per gigahash technology.

EDIT: something I was also thinking about is CEX.io. They say 55% of their hashrate is Bitfury (and 45% are "external" miners on ghash.io), and if I recall well it means they are also hashing  with about 2W/ghash. What will happen when difficulty makes 2W/ghash unprofitable? I know it probably won't happen anytime soon, but it will certainly happen at some point.

Will CEX.io eventually shutdown, or will they renew their hardware before it happens? If so, how will they raise the reinvestment funds? etc.
