New price for AntMiner S1: 0.492 btc each one, shipping cost included.

Why heavy customs duty is charged? Can you sell via ebay global then customs duty will become predictable.

Currently how much is the declared value in the customs invoice?

Pick and place? I need more coffee.
just want to add, wifi has been fine for me.

good as you are the rare wi fi winner…

so did you
 a) add an antenna
b) use 1 ant or many ants
c) have you run wif fi for 5 days with no issues.
d) have you clocked the hash preformance
e)  what is your wifi router make and model?
f) is the router far or pretty close
g) do you live near military bases and or airports.

I'm also one of the wifi winners!

A) yes, an antenna on every unit.
B) Many ants in two locations
C) Yes, I have to restart a unit every 10 days or so.
D) Yes, OCd units to 400mhz.  Units hash between 194-204Gh/s
E) Site 1: Asus rt-n16 with dd-wrt.  Site 2: Asus AC68u  w/stock firmware.
F) Site 1: 10m  Site 2: 18m
G) Site 1: No.   Site 2: Yes, ~4km

thanks for the info.   lastly  what antenna do you use?

TP-Link  TL-ANT2408C.  However, I changed out the SMA connectors on the S1's to Male.  I'm not sure if people realize they're female and most antennaes are female as well.

I have had good luck with the antennas out of laptops (in the lid).  Already has the right connector on it and is small. Also most of them have adhesive and can be "stuck"

to the endplate.  Course I have hundreds of them from my work. An example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Internal-Antenna-for-Wireless-Mini-PCI-PCI-E-Laptop-Desktop-Computer-/260668842387

That bag has two in it!

hey guys just wanted to check something based on the current difficulty i am projected to make 2.7 BTC / mth... is that solo mining or through a pool? thanks again everyone for the advise / help...

That would be through a pool like ghash.io, multipool.us, btcguild, Eligius...etc.

Solo mining you wouldn't find a block anytime soon.

anyone know why an s1 might failover and display BTCGuild as 'DEAD' while multiple other rigs do not??

almost always network issue - can you ssh to the affected miner? If you can then 'reboot'.

A glitch in the matrix.

seriously if you use wi fi .

it happens more then if you use cat5/6 wire.  as I recall you were doing wi fi.

the connection may have dropped on the one piece of gear due to a wi fi issue.

I do not use wi fi since I am 10 miles from a naval air  base and also an air force base.

When they do maneuvers  they fly low and wreak havoc with wi fi.

There's no way you could tolerate being in the same room as these Antminers for very long.

I had some Alfa panels lying around, which work great:

The Antminers are downstairs in my garage, never lose signal, never stops hashing.

A fan broke on one of my antminers so I just put a desk fan up to it, no problems.

As mentioned, you need to put these miners in a room you don't go in often, as the heat and noise will drive you insane.

My Ants are pretty much in the living room and with the stock fans, they are pretty dang quiet. I personally cannot hear the Ants over my gaming rig (which mines Dogecoin when not gaming) and the Antminer's put out very little heat, almost unnoticeable. The box fan I have near the sliding door to let cool, fresh air in is louder than any PC fan I have running.

correct me if im wrong but dont the ants already come with fans... why the need to purchase new ones...? also is it recommended to purchase a big one to blow on all of them...? do they over heat quick / often...?

I put a $69.99-20% coupon=$60 (including tax) Vornado fan from Bed bath and Beyond behind three ants grouped together (you can put another three on top of first three). Cost-$10-20/ant. Ants cool down so there is only 2000-2100rpm+fan (which is relatively quiet on medium setting). The whole setup is just 60db in 1-2 ft distance, which is fine even to be in the same room (tolerable). No squealing of accelerating fans even at 375mhz (did not check higher).

Ants have one push fan, when overclocking them it's recommended to add a a pull fan to keep temperature at an acceptable level.

Or in my case I have them in a very small basement without proper air circulation, without the second fans they are at +50°C, now they are at 46°C
