The miner in me wants to buy more but with a 40% increase\month for difficulty the best this thing is going to do is lose you $88 per unit.

Every time another price drop gets me close to pulling the trigger on buying a S1 I read something like this and then go run the bitcoinwisdom calculator again for myself.  That always stops me dead from spending any money.  Too bad, I'd love to have one of these running in the corner of my office at home but not with the numbers I'm seeing.

this psu will run 1.5 s-1's  on a 393 freq/195gh

so 2 of these   would run 3 machine s-1's with very low watts about  1150-1180  measured by a k watt meter

rebate is only good for 1 not 2 so if you want 2 you pay 99 for one and 119 for the other.  total of 218    and you get yourself a 1500 watt psu setup with a 7 year warranty.

no 1200 watt plat can be had for 218 and no 1500 watt plat costs 299

This 1300 watt gold for $240 + shipping (free if you are premier) runs 3xS1s in OC mode w/ room to spare.  Less cables, one less power cord.

A nice find. I wonder how much more power it spends. then the pair of seasonics do.  As it is a gold vs a plat.   it would be loaded to 1200/1300 vs 1150/1500

and it would not max your 15 amp circuit   15 x 120 = 1800 x 75 percent = 1296 watts   some say 80 percent of 1800 is acceptable  for constant run so that comes to 1440 watts.  I would still take the seasonics but your pick is nice.

Even if you do not file the rebate the seasonics come to 119 free ship  so 2 are 238 vs 240 + shipping

I'm using the Lightning 1300 here.  According to my Kill A Watt, 3 of them OCd pull 10.65 amps @ 114v using 1212 watts.

The 12V rail can feed 108A.  An OC'd Ant runs around 33-34A, so there's a little headroom.

OK...maybe this is a noob question, but i have been getting my PSUs from NewEgg as well (my all time favorite seller of computer parts and various electronic gizmos).  However, I've been buying name brand PSUs in the 500-550W range.  One Thermaltake for $34 after rebate, one Corsair for $30 after rebate and I'm about to buy an EVGA for $30 after rebate -- all with free shipping.  Link for EVGA PSU here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438016

They all have 3+ year warranties and the two I own seem to work just fine with the S1 (admittedly I have not yet overclocked the two I own so far)...why are you all buying the big power supplies to run multiple miners?  It seems to me if a big PSU does fail, you have multiple miners out of commission. Maybe I'm missing something?

Anyone able to give me an indication of how long one of these would take to ship to Perth, Western Australia?

Thanks.

I ordered mine on Saturday left China Monday and it was delivered on Wednesday to Sydney using UPS just the UPS guy delivered it to next door instead of my unit.

Just ordered a 2nd unit today

Wow, that's quick.  What about price on goods declaration, am keen to buy two, but wont if I end up getting slugged by Customs.

Thanks

Australia has no fees for goods under $1000 so no worries
hence retailers kicking up a stink

if you want I could organise something as I have an office NoR

All good, will order 2 next week - will probably sell one on ebay to recoup some outlay Cheesy

I ordered my second today, the first I ordered on the Friday and got it on the Monday in Sydney... super fast Smiley

Anyone else NOT been able to access bitmain's website?  I check it every couple of days to see if anything is in stock again, but getting nothing today. Huh

Yep, down. They were up and selling early today. If you go to 112bit they have listed over 2800 in stock for $404 USD, I would pay with BTC but I use Coinbase not Bitpay.  Undecided Dang, I need one more.

I ordered earlier today, hope it doesn't get messed up...

Ditto. I payed in full but didn't recieve a confirmation email. BTC is gone from the address I sent to.

As long as it's on the blockchain to the addy he gave you it's likely all good Smiley

I have a question about WiFi with the S1s.  Many of the forum posts (and supposedly even Bitmain) suggest that WiFi can cause "performance issues" with the S1s.  I have two S1s both running rock solid at 180GH/s on WiFi.  The same WiFi network supports a dozen or so other devices (laptops, phones, tablets, consoles, TVs, etc).  Am I just lucky or is the WiFi "performance issue" outdated information? Or perhaps there are only issues with many, many devices on the same WiFi network, or only when the S1s are overclocked?

I plan to add 4 more S1s in the next month or so, and would love to know if there is any reason I need to hardwire for the additional S1s so that I can plan appropriately.  Thanks in advance for any words of wisdom you all can offer.

I found it's more about the signal quality.  I had some old desktop wifi cards laying around and used those antennas.  I have a 70% 54mbps connection to my antminer with no issues. I also have a beast of a router (1k mbps 4 antennas in the DEAD center of the 1st floor of my house) I'm guessing anything less than 40-50% signal quality will yield some packet loss.

Website is back up, but in Firefox I needed to hit Escape to stop it trying to load before I could get to the next screen. I got an Order Details email, and my order is listed as Paid -- but no confirmation or shipping notification.
