S2 shuts down, no power.

Check breakers, all are fine.

Toggle switch, no life.

Change plugs, no life

Change circuits, no life.

Change rooms same circuit, now it works.

Go back to original plug, now it works.

What the fuck is wrong with this equipment lol.

Just an FYI on that.  You have to let power flush from the circuits completely.  This is accomplished by turning the unit off for a full 2 minutes.  Once done it should fire right up!

Not having fun with these.

Had to drill the screws to plug in the stupid ribbon cable. Had to take out a fan to get there. Internal ethernet cable is busted, had to replace it. Everything inside is covered in spooge. All the cards are loose and shaky.

Now Im stuck at 0gh/s. anyone have any ideas?

This happened to me.  Re-flash the firmware from the Bitmain webpage if you havent already (grab the latest one).  fired right up after for me.

I already did that. Having cooling issues now. Seems like if any module touches 63C the entire thing shuts down.

I am eager for Batch 3 Ant S2 from Bitmain. We all know that Spondoolies offer 1.4 TH/s with 3600$, shipping before May 10th.
It is a tough time for Bitmain to beat competitors!

Where are these Spondoolies SP10 for $3600 ...I only see 2 x SP10 for $8K...1 is $4.5K ...?

SP10
Dawson

    Hashing power1.4 TH/s
    Shipment dateJune

Thanks...but NOT NOW...I knew about June...by then S2 will be $2000 ...hopefully ... Wink

Im about to throw this thing out the window honestly.

I have had every problem with this unit. Bad Display, bad screws, bad internal ethernet cable, not hashing for hours, everything covered in spooge, bad PSU.

Sounds thermal. While you were messing around with things, it cooled off and reset itself.

Switch PSU.

Run a Bitcoin node.
foolish me, i already downlaoded that file from Bitmain/support

and i already updated to 1l1l1l1l1ls image last night

i do have one S1 rig that is on 192.168.1.99 but that shouldnt matter if ive changed the S2 ip to something else..?

It shouldn't matter... but just for the sake of using 1l1l1l1l1ls image untouched why not try changing your S1 to another IP address?

Just trying to eliminate any complications... your S2 should work on 1l1l1l1l1ls image with no changes at all... later we'll need change it so it mines for you, but for now we just need to get your S2 hashing.

If your S2 doesn't work with 1l1l1l1l1ls stock image, then stick with 1l1l1l1l1ls image and start eliminating pieces of hardware one by one... e.g. try it all identical except swap the SD card for another (new) one.  Try it all identical except swap out the PSU for a known good one.  Then try with a new BBB...

AFK now... g'luck!  Hope to see your S2 hashing soon.

glad to see u guys got it sorted, gives me hope!!

changed to a few diff IP addresses and no joy still.

You may have tried everything already, but just in case...

Do you already have a device that uses Bitmain's default IP address of 192.168.1.99?

If so, assign it a new IP address, and continue (if not, that's perfect, continue):

1) Download 1l1l11ll1l's S2 SD Card image from here (all credit to 1l1l11ll1l - good chap!):
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16075357/bitmain.img.zip

2) Unzip and write the image to a brand new class 10 micro-SD card that is at least 2 GB.  Buy two, just to have a spare.  (FWIW I bought two of these: Apacer Micro SD Card 8 GB Class 10.)

3) Go through all the hassle of putting it into your S2 BBB.

4) See if your machine mines with 1l1l11ll1l's image.  Don't change anything yet.  I found it worked for me.  Obviously we haven't set it up properly for your S2 yet, but at least it will show if a known good image on a fresh SD card works on your machine.  Yes it will be mining for 1l1l11ll1l at this stage, no prob, this is just a short test on a known good image.

Note that 1l1l11ll1l's image is the latest S2 firmware: "Thu Apr 10 19:08:42 CST 2014" which is what you get if you update with "initramfs.bin.SD-20140410.tar".

5) Once you have it working, set up your miner config and IP address to your preference.

I am sorry. Normally I would be able to help but I just did not do anything meaningful and it started working.

Hostname antMiner
Protocol Static
IP address is unique and open
Netmask is 255.255.255.0
Gateway is 192.168.1.1 which is what I set my modem to.
DNS servers to 8.8.8.8

I flashed to the new firmware

I removed every single card and reseated them

I had one loose ribbon cable. I fixed it.

I powered down and back up a few times.

Good luck.

Run a Bitcoin node.

I have started getting the 404 Not Found error too.  I found that this URL works for me (replace with your S2 IP address):
http://192.168.1.99/index.html

Wow, nice work.  How the hell did you figure that out?  that's great news.
I don't currently have this problem, but it's probably coming, so it's sure nice to have this solution on deck.

If you figure out an explanation, please do share.

See my reply above - I was assigning my S2 the same IP address as a PC on my network... D'Oh!

I figured out the URL by SSHing onto my S2 (somehow I got on... not sure how with my router in conniptions with an IP address conflict).

I found the directory /www/pages which has the files:
administration.html
cgi-bin
css
dav
images
index.html
js
kernelLog.html
minerConfiguration.html
minerStatus.html
monitor.html
network.html
networkDiagnostics.html
reboot.html
resources
type
upgrade.html

So I tried accessing a page directly, e.g.:
http://192.168.1.99/index.html
http://192.168.1.99/minerConfiguration.html

Any of the above should work

same.

tried with only 1 board in - still 0GH/s

can anyone confirm the RED LED on the BBB is supposed to be lit ?

I finally got mine working... I'm such a nobbin, I assigned an IP address to my S2 which was THE SAME as an existing PC on my network.  I finally found it because I powered down the S2 AND pulled the network plug... but was still able to ping the IP address.  That's when the penny dropped.  Even with the same IP address as another PC, the S2 would mine for a bit, then stop and beep, then start again... so it appeared like an intermittent problem.

I do have a red LED on the BBB, also one on the board that it is attached to - both red LEDs are on constantly (no blinking).
