I have an Antminer S2 with a broken base board (only 5 of the 10 slots are active)
I'm hoping to find a replacement, but Bitmain had nothing to help me out with regards to that.
1 chip was damaged in shipping, but I have 4 that work fine but simply have no working slots to place them in.
If you have either:
1) A replacement base board to sell
or
2) Interest in buying the 4 remaining chips
please PM me!!

to those given in the previous post the firmware can not change the settings. bitmain.img set and everything is fine.

es2 bought from the stick Class 4 is the problem. Put the phone from class 10 and everything works (antMiner_A8_20140410.bin). buy a USB flash drive 4GB Class 10.

So you've had the same? I'm confused as to why some people would be able to flash the firmware and others not :s Any ideas?

When you download the file and send it directly to the S2, you're getting an error? Don't extract it or anything beforehand. Can you screenshot the error please?

The S1 and S3 have .bin, and I noticed the S2 is a .tar.gz. What am I missing? I've been able to update my S1s and S3s with no problem.
I'm not sure what is going wrong here, but the S1 + S3 and S2 will have different firmware formats because S1 + S3 uses a proprietary controller while the S2 uses BBB architecture.

I log into the miner
I go to the system page
Click upgrade tag
Choose File
Click Flash
then error.
What is the SD partition tool? Is it needed?
Its to create a new SD card using someone elses .img file. If for whatever reason you can't get the upgrade to work, someone might be so kind as to upgrade then provide you a copy of their .img so you can write directly to your SD card.

Thanks Dogie! It took me a bit of time to find an image file and learn how to format and flash an SD card in Linux (Linux rookie here) but I finally got it done and the machine works great! Now I just have to figure out how to determine what is wrong with the two hash boards that aren't working to see if I can bust out a soldering iron to fix them..... I pulled each board out and reseated them to make sure that wasn't the issue. I thought I saw a couple posts about people cleaning the contacts on the board so maybe I will try that too. I didn't look close enough at the boards to see whether the boards are labeled with numbers 1-10 to correspond with the miner status page showing boards 8 and 10 that aren't hashing....are there marks somewhere? Do I have to keep a board in all 10 slots to run the miner or can I pull the bad boards out and run it with the good boards?

I can't remember which way round the boards are, try pulling one at one end and take a look which dissapears. You can run with as few or as many boards as you like.

Hi guys I was hoping someone could help me with a small issue I am dealing with. I thought that I could just plug the machine in and reset it with a browser window but I am having trouble getting the machine to pull up in a browser window.... The guy who sold it to me said that I needed to set the adapter settings on my laptop to 192.168.0.113 to get into the S2 miner and that I could change it from there. After setting IPv4 with that information the S2 that is directly connected to the laptop does show that there is a network but when I type the 192.168.0.113 in a browser window it doesn't pull up the software so that I can reset the entire thing and start from scratch... Do you guys know of something that I might be doing wrong? Or is there a way I can somehow manually short two points under the broken reset button so that I can start from scratch?
I appreciate any help anyone could give me.

S2s have removable SD cards, remove it, put a fresh image on and go to the default IP.
