gotta let a coin be a coin
Not sure what all the complaining about the shipping is about, Bitmain made it pretty clear back on the 14th with an update and true to their word my B1 order shows being delivered tomorrow and I have a coupon in my account. This is a lot better than several other companies have done in the past.

It is a lot better than other companies for sure. We know that Bitmain will come through. We are still complaining because even though we are B1, our orders haven't been shipped yet.

They will probably be shipped today.

This was fun to watch the orders come in real time: https://blockchain.info/address/16mT7jrpkjnJBD7a3TM2awyxHub58H6r6Z

That's the address that they had bitpay sending orders. Most were for 1.5btc. I love the transparency of the blockchain Smiley (credit to Cevidad for originally posting it in the hashfast thread)

I received a reply from Bitmain a minute ago regarding their shipping procedures. They said they follow the "first to order, first to ship" method. I am hoping they'll be shipping today.

I don't buy it. My order was placed early in batch 1 but still hasn't shipped.

I suspect that my order won't ship until batch 2 is ready - it's possible that they are simply out of product.

Hello everyone,

When we were doing the first mass production, we found that not all of the S3’s DC/DC module could be stable enough to support the 478GH/s speed. After long time testing, all of the S3 run stably at 441GH/s, which however is 7.7% less than the 478GH/s we have announced.

So we decide the final specification of ANTMINER S3 here:

Hash Rate: 441 GH/s or more
Power Consumption: about 340 Watt at the wall when running at 441GH/s
Power Efficiency: 0.77 J/GH on wall
Power Supply: 12V DC
Size:  331 mm x 137 mm x 160 mm
Fans: Two 14038 fans mounted on both front and back ends.
Operating Temperature: 0 °C to 35 °C
Complied with: FCC / CE
Network Connection: Ethernet

Many of the customers may be lucky to find that their S3 can be overclocked to 478GH/s.

We apologize for this incident. We offer two options for customers:

1)   10.0% worth of coupon for the B1~B3 customers. This is the default option. (10% based on what you have paid for the B1~B3)
2)   7.7% worth of refund. We will release a function on our official website for application of this option. If you have bought from our resellers, please contact them and provide your Bitcoin address.

Shipping schedule updated:

Batch 1: The shipping will be finished in 14th and 17th.
Batch 2: It will be shipping out between 18th and 19th.
Batch 3: It will be shipping out between 19th and 22nd.

That's my suspection:

The first difficulty in june was about 24% - i think this was the time Bitmaintech has set all available S3 online.
Now the next difficulty was only 3% and they say - hey lets make us the money and say ohhhh sorry we have some problems to deliver our S3 right now.
All S3 are mining for the factory and make money for them - okay they give the customers a little bit discount with an voucher...
And with the next (possible) higher difficulty they deliver - but all money from the 3% diff is gone to Bitmaintech...

Just my two cents...

I am disappointed that they haven't shipped today.
Have you ever considered how long it takes to ship out thousands of miners?

Yes, probably not too long. Suppose you have 10 people dealing with shipping and you want to ship 1000 miners a day, working 8 hours a day.

That means every person needs to package and ship one miner every five minutes. That doesn't sound very hard.

8 hours with no breaks!? sheesh I wouldnt want to work for you, plus thats only 960 units bruh.

That's why I said approximately. Smiley

But you know what, it is China. I don't think they do breaks. Smiley

touché

I hope they aren't taking breaks! I want my miners already!!

But hey its almost 9:00am at that means they should be back at work and shipping again soon!  Grin

Bitmain stated in an earlier post that they only had an S2 farm and 1 S3 for testing. They could be lying who knows. The recent 24% could have been from other mining hardware being turned on and tested. Also if people are getting S3's and the parts smell brand new, then that's another indication that haven't mined with the S3's. It would take multiple weeks of running the S3's for the difficulty to raise 24%. I would think a couple weeks worth of use would be noticed by customers receiving their miners.

This is the real way to mine Bitcoin:

- The factory have the latest hardware.
- The factory have all the hardware paid by Pre-Orders
- And the hardware is working for the factory

The owner of the factory have a big smile in the face + a lot of BTC in the wallet and we are all stupid idiot's Sad
Bitmaintech is still learning from KnC, i think...

I wish I had some more experience in integrated circuit design. Computer Science is great and everything but I guess this is the only time where IC design is more profitable than software. Smiley
