Due to a sudden loss of funds, we need to cancel our datawarehouse project with 150 S4 servers running & cooled with water blocks.

We need to sell our S4 Antminers:

       - some 300 brand new ones still in original packages

       - some 160 used ones with cooling water blocks

       - some 2,000 water blocks.(attached pics).

Location for shipment is Bahrain.

Pls help who can buy these from us ?

The hardware forum is more for sales then support thread.  Can you show some pics of S4 cooled with water blocks? I'm curious to see what it looks like.

Also you might re-word it above as I highly doubt the S4's are truly new.... maybe new to you.  But for these S4's to have not been used and sit somewhere since being made such a long period is hard to believe.
Waterblocks? That's pretty overkill unless someone wanted a quiet warehouse with overclocked s4s. He could have saved the s4s for some later time, but yeah.. Thats pretty unbelievable. I want to see a picture as well, because it just sounds so cool! Cheesy

I can't find the auction but someone posted it in another thread.  They had a  VERY custom data center with larget amount of water cooling on a lot of gear.  If I find post later I will post.

But they are interesting looking.   It is someone no doubt seeing profits decreasing on older gen gear.

Ok i thought this s4 was dead. Then i get all the boards up and running and hashing. As soon as i set my pools and click apply, the s4 goes into a bootloop and the only thing that saves it is a reflash of the sd. Then I turn it on Ethernet unplugged it boots up but not with Ethernet connected, it does the bootloop or restart loop if Ethernet is connected upon start up. If i plug in the Ethernet after ths s4 boots up but only after a fresh sd flash it will stay on and let me flash firmware from the s4 system page. But no matter what firmware I use once i set my pools it goes into and infinite bootloop and Ethernet unplugged trick doesn't work anymore. Could this be a control board issue?
PS
Punching kicking and throwing thing across room doesnt stop bootloop.
Try change first the lan cable and port on switch . i had problems with dust at the rj45 connector on the backbone and i sprayed with contact cleaner, now all is ok Smiley

@notlist3d

True! This is my PSU.

Got it with the small button.

The only question was: does the system then shut down ? Or is it a cold "switch off" anyway ?

Not a problem at all.  And yes it does hold the little button for a few seconds and entire machine will shut off on S4.

Hold it a few seconds when it's off... and it does the opposite and turns the S4 back on Smiley.

Going to be getting an S4 soon and was wondering how you guys have dealt with the noise? I know you can underclock it but that kind of defeats the object of it. Not got to worry too much about ambient temps as I'm in the uk and rarely gets above 25c in summer.

I currently have two s3's under my desk in my room and can quite easily sleep with those on all the time so just wondering what the s4 is like in comparison.

Thanks.

--bitmain-homemode

That will slow the fans down. Never had any issues with running them that way, and the temps arent an issue.

where do I input this command to get the fans to slow down?

Thanks.

SSH or Putty. etc/init.d/cgminer.conf if I remember correctly. I probably don't, but the information is somewhere in this thread.

Well I did the reset and luckily it has worked out alright. It's hashing away nicely now for me and not the other guys settings.

Thanks for the help and replies.

Basically I have bought an s4 which turned up last night. I have plugged it in and fired it up. I have changed my router settings to the ip range on the s4 screen but everytime I try to log into it I cant because it does not accept the "root" user and password. I have contacted the guy I bought it from but have not heard back. I was wondering if resetting it would set the access back to "root" default?

Well if you do this I suggest making a backup of current image just in case (I like to be careful).  But there is a SD card within the S4 on the RPI you can flash with image and it would go back to default assuming you using a bitmain official Image.  And keep in mine a backup or image you can flash sd card, is different then standard firmware.

Has anyone had any problems after they have reset the s4? I mean directly related to resetting it.

Can you be more specific?  What type of problem are you having?

I can't think of one off the top of my head I had.  We really need more info.

No it's a small button, not a knob.
My fault, bad English.

I bought this AM4 used, and the seller said, that he bought it and never changed the firmware and/or hardware parts or the PSU.

I suppose everything is original.

Since the firmware is of oct 16th 2014 this particular miner has been made after that date.

Does this helps for identifying the PSU ?

Found image online is this psu?

If it is that psu yes the little button you hold it for a few seconds and it turn's off/on.  And yes you have to hold in for a few seconds.

As far as firmware if its working and getting normal speeds... I would not mess with it.  It should be getting around the 2T without issue on it or even above.
