The problem is that with the price of BTC going up and down, its hard for them to get the value they want. So I guess this is why they fixed the price in BTC.
I have bough a S7 yesterday in the high and only paid 3.5 for a Batch 4  Grin

So Im pretty happy.

well, if you are fixing the price in btc, then you are subjected to the downdraft in btc price.
Way back in 2014 they priced everything in btc, then changed to $$ when btc started going south.
I guess, BMT expects the general bullish trend in btc, and I am OK with this prediction.

They are selling it at a FIXED btc price of 4 btc.  So I would say they did not like today selling for USD amounts when jumping around.

I'm personally not a plan of the fixed rate.  Takes some of the skill/speculation out of it.

Thanks for pointing that out!!! I am NOT a fan either!! I was planning on ordering more units next week, but I might just wait for other options due to this.

So the price difference between the 4.86TH and the 4.66TH was about $100.  Now they're selling this crap unit at 4.05TH for only $120 less than the 4.66TH?  WTF?  Looks like their greed is increasing and hash rate is decreasing.

Yup. Learning from US companies, charge more for less product.

Guess it's time to seriously look into the new avalons.
Keep in mind that the B6 price is set in BTC (B1-B5 were set in USD). So the BTC price the moment you buy it determines the USD price.

hehe, so I'm hoping for a btc price tanking so I can buy it on the cheap!  And the Avalon6 is definitely not worth it, lower hash, worse efficiency, and $1500?  No thanks. (plus have to buy a raspberry pi as it doesn't have it's own controller)

what do you guys think, i was about to buy a S7 Batch 3 but was having trouble pulling all the BTC together, but i check today and i still have the order in my backet ready for checkout, do you think if i check it out, they will honor it, or will it be pain in the ass, if they don`t and getting my BTC backs..

Batch 4 and 5 are sold out.

lasted just a couple of days.
anyway, my B4 order finally 'turned green'.

Interestingly, S7 batch 6 went from 162 to 145 chips (144? as 145 cannot be divided by 3-weird)

Here's my take on batch 6.

It's still 3 Boards but with a reduced chip count / Board. I think they have made a mistake and it will not be 145 Chips but 144.

Which means that each board reduces from 18 Tripple Nodes to 16 Tripple Nodes. Also the voltage range is now a more sensible 11.6V to 13.0V rather than the very tight must not be less than 12V.

I would call it a Design Correction. We have seen from the very tight voltage spec on the original S7 followed by batches at reduced hash rates that they were having manufacturing problems. This is a more permanent fix that with a 12V supply increases the Core Voltage from 0.66V to 0.75V and should allow reliable running at 600MHz and also I would think some overclocking.

What is uncertain at this point is if they are able to select BM1385 Chips and continue with the 4.86TH Design or if we will see all production move to the 4.05TH Batch 6 style?

the 11.6 gets my attention

when I did testing on batch 1  I was able to go to 11.7 save about 50-80 watts.  But anything under 11.7 even if I underclocked and the unit would go to

--------------    vs 00000000

Now that they spec 11.7 vs a spec of 12  I think it may go down to  11 and say 3000 gh  maybe doing .2 watts

All spec but I have the right psu to test it with a 1500 watter that drops to10 volts if desired.

I may order a batch 6.

another thing batch 4 - 4660th 1160w 0.2489j/gh
batch 6 - 4050th 1042w 0.2572j/gh that's a 3.33% difference even without the "+10%"

also the rated voltage changed: Rated Voltage: 11.60 ~ 13.00V
batches before were rated with 12 and above

so +10% power efficiency may apply on 13V Huh?

also 145 chips doesn't split well across 3 mining boards!?
maybe there are only 144 Chips?

2. Power Consumption: 1042 W + 10% (at the wall, with APW3, 93% efficiency, 25C ambient temp)

3. Power Efficiency: 0.25 J/GH + 10% (at the wall, with APW3, 93% efficiency, 25°C ambient temp)

I am guessing this one is 0.275J/GH then.

Batch 4 and 5 are sold out.

For Sale is
ANTMINER S7 BATCH 6

AntMiner S7 BATCH 6 with 4.05th/s is available to order. Shipping may start between Dec. 7 ~ Dec. 17 (if shipped out 5 days later than it, it won't be considered as delay ).

Chip quantity per unit: 145x BM1385
Rated Voltage: 11.60 ~ 13.00V
Dimensions: 301mm(L)*123mm(W)*155mm(H)

Interesting decision on their part... looks like still has 3 blades.  So were talking 9 PCIe + 1 controller.... for even less hash.  I was hoping to see a dual blade with this rumored version.

I'm guessing quality control was not working they kept having to check if each  hashboard ran at higher freq.  So I'm guessing they lowered it all and now they don't have to do as much quality control, and not having to sell higher and lower freq version.
