Does Bitmain have the NEW S9 fully developed and installed in their Farm?

When would they be releasing the S9 to the public?

Intriguing thoughts!

What are your thoughts?

BITMAIN, you are welcome to chime in.

im very sure they will release kind of s7+ first... maybe 10THs @ ~2000w to sell more BM1385´s

IMO they will release S8/S9 only when an competitioner like Bitfury is selling more efficient Chips.

I doubt we see a S8.  I think day's of even numbers with all in one setup's are done.  I could be wrong but they have stayed away for a while.  I think they have mastered shipping costs staying with odd numbers.

They have been VERY quiet.  When S7 was coming out there was all kinds of rumors we knew with S5+ some big things were changing.  So far we just have not seen that.  That is no way means they don't have it ready to go, but they have had 0 leaks of info yet.

They are definitely maturing in terms of information flow, especially as other competitors are showing up with next generation gear.. They are more forthcoming with their bulk buyers but I suspect those buyers are not into disclosing the information while they have a relationship with Bitmain..

Yes I think the Even series of Miner is dead and has been replaced by the Plus Series Tripple Bay Miners. Makes sense as it save a lot of engineering work. However also agreed on your VERY quiet point, perhaps too quiet. Could it mean that they are not as advanced as we assume with a 14/16nm Miner?

maybe they made enough money where they all jumped ship and moved to some tropical island and is currently laying on a beach and drinking drinks from hollowed out pineapples..

They have over 27,000 btc just sitting in a btc addy.

That is over 10,000,000  in fact over 11,000,000 usd

https://blockchain.info/address/1KwA4fS4uVuCNjCtMivE7m5ATbv93UZg8V

but not enough to send me compensation of 150 usd for my batch 1 miner.

As for batch 11 shipping a few people said they had thier gear shipped.

I ordered 4 more  machines despite not having fair compensation for batch 1.

I have ordered a total of 13 s-7's 11 after the bad batch 1 that  I was never given compensation for.  So my batch 11 are not shipped.

So I will ask the batch 11's shipped  what day did you pay on? My orders were 2 days ago.

Bitfury already has a more efficient chip available

I do like that containerized 16PH mining system they offer ... now only if I could build a nuclear power plant in my back yard ...

There's almost a 100% possibility that they will. They could (probably will) create a rackmount "S8" miner next with BM1385 chips. The rackmounts are made mostly, imo, to offload the amount of last-gen chips they have. Look at the S2 and S4. Both last gen chips, with barely improved power useage.

Batch 11 is shipping.

Yours shipped?  Shows Mar 1-5th  shipping.   I have a few more units on order but no shipped date yet.

I've had and seen B9 shipped early as well. They seem to mostly, maybe, probably go by order date. I mean that if you bought early and they decide to ship out some stuff early, you'll be first in line.

Unfortunately, most of their customers are still holding onto them without any complaints or whatsoever so they'll just continue flooding us with S7s month after month.

you forgot to add .... "...flooding us with S7's month after month."  --- While Bitmain mines with the new fangled super duper ultra uber mega efficient S9's.

=== NOW ON A DIFFERENT NOTE ----->

You all do realize that the S7's that have been rolling out of Bitmain batch 9 and on, are RECYCLED UNITS. Maybe even earlier batches also.

When I received the S7 Batch 9's I ordered, I popped them open to verify things were hunky dory inside before powering them up. I found heatsinks that were chard, some with blue spattering.... that leads me to believe that at minimum, the heatsinks were re-used from the S7's that burned up, thus the charring and the blue ( copper sputtered into aluminum then oxidized when washing the heatsinks. ).

The hashboard circuitboards are spotless, and the extruded aluminum housing is clean; who knows if they have recycled the ASIC chips, I/O board or BBB. What kind of surges/shorts the components suffered from the heatsinks falling off and burning up the early models of the S7's, are these going to have the same lifespan as new, or are these just limping along waiting to fail.

THAT THERE .... could be the reason why Bitmain, in the later batches of miners offered, lowers the price so much from the initial price.... because they are using recycled parts/components.

That's the reality of bitcoin mining now, sadly. Companies care more about cash than good products and now we're seeing used "new" miners. I think even used units are better than bitmain's. Eventually, all miners will become private and we'll have no way to buy hardware.  Embarrassed
