Do they send you an email when they ship out your unit or does everybody just keep logging in to check their order status?

they send email. Also I find I get the email notice and updated on account a day or two after they have been shipped.

I would find out faster that my unit was sent by notice from my UPS account. If your using UPS you need to open a free account with them and once Bitmain prints out a label you will be notified. I also use this account to change the delivery to my local UPS store so I don't miss the delivery if nobody is home to sign for it. Just stop at the UPS store after work and show my ID to pick up the package.

Just to follow up on my compensation email:

"We've already explained to you that ,our sales team have compensated customers with specific

orders, if they have not sent the compensations to your account ,that means you are not in the list ."

It would seem that you could downclock a Batch 8/9 S7 to roughly approximate the Avalon 6 in terms of power and hashrate (maybe a little better). If you do that, can you dial the fan down enough to more nearly approximate the Avalon 6 in terms of sound?

Anybody got any experiences to share on making an S7 a bit more livable strictly by adjusting the frequency?

Anyone here mining in UK with some S7 units know the cost of import tax and also what the costing in terms of kwh to keep running 24/7? Tempted to grab a unit or 2 but need some details on power use over a 24 hour time frame and what it is bringing in in terms of BTC

I bought Batch 1 S7's and yes, buying BTC would have been a better investment. But i had the BTC not the fiat. However:

1. Bitcoin would be worthless if noone "mines it" and processes the transactions. This also applies to the pools mining blocks and including no transactions.

2. I have not had to turn on my furnace yet this year, buying BTC would not keep my house warm. (Last couple of days it has been in the 30's F here and the house @ 75+F with a couple windows partially open.

I hope noone takes this the wrong way. I mostly am trying to make myself feel better about spending 8+ BTC on something selling for 2.4 BTC only 4 months later.

I will most likely be ordering another S7 soon.  Cheesy

LOL.  I've calculated it over and over again hundreds of times since they announced the price of the batch 1 S7 and in like 90% of the models it just doesn't make sense to buy a S7 for me.  Even now at BTC2.4 it still doesn't make financial sense to get one but damn it I ordered one anyway and I'm still considering getting another one as well!  Cheesy

Any system you use?  Or just buying when you feel it's low?

No system. Gut feel.

Are there any losers you have not shown?   It seems like you could have not been right 100 percent of time?

The Nov.4 purchase has been my only loser (so far; given the price of ~$385 USD at the time of this posting). I got caught in the emotion of that rally, and went against my better judgement.

Thanks for sharing.  I have to give you some credit that is a pretty solid investment portfolio on BTC buying.

Thanks for digging them up Xian!

Looks like the Nov. 4th purchase hasn't paid off but the other two more than make up for that!  Glad to see you made out.  Not quite at the 9 month mark yet though.

I believe that it was Xian01 who instead of buying a S7 bought BTC with fiat for the amount that the S7 cost when it first came out.  I think he's probably pretty happy about his choice now but I could be wrong since the price had dropped a bit.
I think it was the other way around. He bought BTC at the yearly highs of around $475 on Coinbase instead of buying an S7. There is a photo of his transaction somewhere on this thread. So its shows how doing either can go either way.
I think you might be right.  I didn't spend too much time trying to find that post and I couldn't recall BTC prices around that time.  I guess we'd have to compare his BTC vs the amount of profit mined from the batch 1 S7 plus the potential resale value of the S7.

Interesting price adjustment from Bitmain.
Decided to do this again instead of buying an S7

Good luck everyone.
Boy did I pick a bad day to buy or what ? *sighs*

Had another urge to buy a miner. A Batch 3 S7.
Decided to do this again, instead.

PACMiC v4 looks to be a loser.
Good luck everyone.

And the buy button just went live, despite the large expense, I wonder how long until they sell out of batch #1?
Good luck to everyone buying these ! Looks like some great gear, but this time around, instead of buying a fancy new miner, I did the following and will HODL.

Lets see which will be the better investment 9 months down the road.

Thanks for sharing.  I love mining and will continue to do it.  But you do show a track record of pretty good investment's which I applaud you for.

As far as I remember, whoever bought BTC when Bitmain started selling preorders in August made out well since BTC was around $240. However,  buying BTC after S7 started shipping was a different story at close to $500.

Go Big or Go Home.....
Just FYI to people that check.
Myself and at least 3 others have received ZERO compensation from Bitmain as well as had our tickets deleted from the ticketing system.
Not 'closed' or 'resolved', but totally gone.

GOOD JOB BITMAIN. LIVING UP to the expectations of many.

oh yeah! 882 like you were on the exchange and bought for that price the btc
you still bought it for the same 2.4btc!
It may come in february, watch the diff rise and cut a vein! Smiley))

welcome to the mining game!
take a ticket! Grin

Just messing with you bud.  I had plenty of loss on buying many BTC at $480 and also buying quite a few S7 at much higher price.  Just the way this game works.   But dollar cost averaging does help, I'm happy I got some at $890, I chose wire instead of BTC since I purchased my BTC at much higher prices.  But I also prepaid some Batch 9 at higher prices so I'm no Wiz at market timing by any means, else I wouldn't lose my fortune in the casino we call stock market.  =)

The only problem with choosing to wire it is that Monday is a holiday and banks are not open.  In the Bitmain purchase PO is states it has to arrive in 3 days.  So if you order today and wire on Tuesday morning I do not see it getting to them before the order expires.  Not that it matters to me but just saying Wink

If you lock in Saturday and wire it by Tuesday, it would be fine as that's the 3rd day.  Below is the verification on the order I did on Saturday Dec 26th for Batch 9.

Yesterday I sent an email to bitmain, saying more or less when they began to send the miner batch 9, if they met the timing,
but nothing to do, no answer,
perhaps I heard back from bitmain tomorrow Monday January 18
Dude, it's weekend.
