any idea what is the power draw of a vega 64 hashing monero? vega 56 hashes at about 160w?

Hi all,

Out of curiosity... are you guys just focused in mining, or are gamers here as well? And if you're a gamer, do you mine with that rig too or only with dedicated mining rigs?

I used to mine ETH when my Fury Nitro on the gaming PC was in idle, but with the difficulty increase I stopped doing it...

All in all, I'm curious if there's people here not using the blockchain driver only to be able to game as well Smiley

I have a vega 56 on my gaming rig that i use to mine on downtime.

Gaming still works pretty well using the blockchain driver, i just make sure to restart the pc before and after a gaming session.

Hi, I do not own one. But I saw that will run with 16 different gpus and you have a diagnostic of ports inside the bios. Only small con is absence of power and reset buttons, but I i using the externals and watchdog, so it is pointless for me. If the asrock do not deliver new bios for h110 btc+ within the month for better stability, I will buy b250 mining from asus.

What do you use for watchdog ?

I have a programmable on-off switch that I can control from my phone but it's not automated.

asrock mobo h110 pro btc+ is not able to handle more than 9x vega64

what can you say about asus b250 mining. What is the  maximum vega?

Is it ok to mix flashed 56 and 64 in one rig?
Yes, you can just change them to blue colour (stats leds).
After that you will know which one is 56 and 64.

My interpretation of the AMD release notes is, that the gpu workload is there and is automatically activated (without the toggle) for Vegas. However, turning on/off hbcc has no effect. What do you mine right now? What drivers do you use for 9 cards?
Hi,
for 9 cards the first release with 12gpus limit. But with this drivers was monero mining only at 1200h/s per gpu with 1350W.
So it's better to mine with blockchain and with 8gpus for now. So the 2cards are disconnected for now. But anyway, I have to say that new drivers was more stable for me than blockchain driver.
I am thought that compute option is available only for rx 480/580 for now and for vegas it's not yet finished...

Tried toggling HBCC in global settings, devcon.exe, nothing seems to turn on HBCC. I have 12 GPU rig prepared but this ... HBCC just does not work on 12 GPU drivers.

What version of Windows do you have? The Fall Creators Update (1709) is supposed to correct those limitations.

I have the Fall Creators Update. According to my understanding, the limitation is caused by drivers, not by Windows. Now, i use blockchain drivers with the limit of max 8 gpus.
Yes, you are right. Win10 64bit in thery supports unlimited numbers of gpus. So its only a driver limitation. With new drivers you are able to install 12gpus. Gpu workload option is not available for vegas. Not yet.
Anyway my 10x vega64 rig is prepaired, but it is a shame that asrock mobo h110 pro btc+ is not able to handle more than 9x vega64. With 10x of them, the board not even start booting to bios...

Hi guys,
One of my sapphire vega64 limited edition has a very bad sillicone I think, because it is not able to run on 1408-905mV, 945-900mV
even if I increase voltage to 920mV it is not stable.
Someone has a vega64 with similar problems? What is yours worst card?

Mine seem to crash a lot

Motherboards make a HUGE difference. I only use higher end ones. The little extra is worth all the time and headaches saved.

Powersupply is another big thing.

I went for an ASUS B250 Mining Expert and have a v64 and a v56 @ 64 along with a 1080 ti running stable. My main issue to date has been trying to get power draw at the wall to resemble hellae and everyone else's whilst maintaining high hash rates. I've found that the only way to curb power draw is to set core to go 1308/1100 @ 905 mV on both Vegas, 1408 core increases power draw at the wall by 100w for a ~200 h/s benefit. With the 1080 ti mining Zcoin (135w) total system power draw at the wall is 495w and the Vegas hash at 3650 h/s. That's not as good as I had hoped and I'm beginning to think the motherboard is the culprit. Power supply is rm1000x so I don't suspect that is the issue. Risers are 006c powered via 6 pin PCI-E, could they be causing higher power draw? Have followed all the guides and used hellae and my own custom power play tables - this has me stumped...

1408mhz causes thee high powerdraw. I am not sure why...

Dial it back to 1400 and you should be good !

I love the Z270 boards, 7 PCIe slots with 2 M.2 slots.  I don't run more than 7 GPUs in one rig anyway (at least so far).

yeah and with the power and reset switch on the back you can comnect it to srr or other rig resetting tools and
still have manual control of the boards, best mining board for me atm
I would be fine with 7 vega , six is a non starter , have you tried 7 vegas on these?

Not yet, I just got my first Vega 56 last week.  It will be awhile before I get a full rig of them.  I'm still trying to decide how I'm going to manage power.  It's complicated by the fact that you need both 8 pins for each card.  I'll probably have to start using the HP server PSUs with breakout boards.

the only really easy way to do it is with those 2400 watt power supplies with 24 power connectors on the break out boards , only problem they  they take alot of space on my racks
Hi, could you send me an link with that psu? Thx

https://www.parallelminer.com/product/rev2-ultimate-2400watt-power-supply-kit-for-gpu-mining-94-platinum-efficiency-200v240v-w-32pcie-plugs/

its overkill yeah , but a normal 1500 watt or multiuple 1200 watt PSU's would cost you twice as much, the only
issue i have with these are placement on my racks they take up a good amount of space
