Same. Anyone have any insight?

Make sure your running the batch file/devcon as an administrator. If that doesn't work, make sure you have the 64 bit version of devcon if you're running 64 bit windows, and the 32 bit version of devcon if you're running 32 bit windows.

Side note for people who might search this in the future:

The Asus Z270-A WILL NOT RUN 7 Vega. At least not without additional hardware. Its impossible to install the drivers, they'll crash every time no matter how you do it. 6 cards is doable, as long as they're placed in every slot EXCEPT PCIeX16_1. If a card is placed in the first x16 slot, then the drivers will crash while installing if you try to use more than 5 cards. Just a heads up for anyone who might be having this problem.

Edit: Running 7+ Vega on the Asus Z270-A is doable with a PCIe expander. Just make sure no cards are placed in the first x16 slot.

I'm having problems with the script. The manual disable/enable works fine.

output of script:
C:\Users\monero\Desktop>devcon.exe disable "PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F"
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F&SUBSYS_0B361002&REV_C3\6&2AF6ADFE&0&000000E6: Disable failed
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F&SUBSYS_0B361002&REV_C3\6&2C451A81&0&000000E0: Disable failed
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F&SUBSYS_0B361002&REV_C3\6&21DB5B6B&0&00000008: Disable failed
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_687F&SUBSYS_0B361002&REV_C3\6&9C9E801&0&000000EB: Disable failed
No matching devices found.

C:\Users\monero\Desktop>timeout /t 5

Obviously it found 4 Cards but was not able to disable it?
I'm on build 1703 and I downloaded devcon.exe the following way:

So put First cpu +X% clock, and after that you got the mem higher, after that put cpu clock down?

Set my 2 vega56 to -10% cpu, ram to 920, power target -20% and get 400w@36xxkhashes, but after some time go down to 33xxkhashes  Roll Eyes
Out of curiosity can anyone beat 2525H/s peak with xmr-stak-amd  Grin Grin  vanilla FE 1648/1102

I can get 2190-2210 out of my 56 modded and OC'd as sh*t @ 1620/1199 Grin Pointless for me though....

Pretty crazy mem clock. So it actually is stable enuf to give couple shares huh? Suppose it will do just fine 1150mhz 24/7.

Yeah, had to overclock the Soc first to get past the internal limitations for the mem clock. It was kinda stable even at that but power draw and noise were not worth it. Didnt test it for long though. 1400/1100 gives me 2000mh and i am staying at 45c @ 1600-1700rpm.

Temps were fine (60-70c) but I live in a cold enviorment and dont have to worry about high ambients. I actually use the heat to keep some rarely used parts of my hose warm Smiley

No, the SoC clock is completly different thing from the gpu clock and can only be modified by making changes in the powerplay table.

You can go up to 1100mhz without never touching the soc clock. Not an accurate comparison but think of the soc clock as the bus clock on your cpu.

You should first find your cause of instability before tinkering with that. OC'ng the soc can cause MAJOR instabilities and all sorrs of issues.

What PSU(s) are you using on your 8 card Vega rigs?

2 pcs CORSAIR HX1200 for every 8 VEGA cards.

I have 2 pcs of EVGA Power Supply SuperNOVA 1600 P2, 1600W, 80 PLUS Platinum for 10x vega64, and it´s a more than enough. PSU working max on 60% and this is in the range where has the best efficiency.

That PSU only has 9 8 pin VGA power connectors, right?  Where are you powering your tenth Vega from?

Hi,
The last cable with 8pin is connected to this cable:

This cable withstand the power load and the psu too.

3 vega 56 flashed with the 64 vega rom

max i can get is 1500 on all three using CAST-XMR , on top of that the hashrate keeps dropping after a high start and settles in at 1400ish

using 1110 core and 1075 mem 20% + power lim and 900 mv on core and mem

Any help ? i see 1200 before i do the disable enable trick , and I do see the error that says blockchain drivers not detected

but I am using the robin hood blockchain drivers , the aug 23 drivers seem to constantly crash my system
you need the blockchain drivers aug 23. no way around it. if desperate, start with a fresh windows install.

yeah even on a fresh install BSOD when i run it ok thanks tho
The fact that you start strong and go lower after a little while suggests temperature problems and card backing off. You need manual voltages too and the registry hack because it lowers the floors on the voltage on P1-P6 which you cannot touch in wattman.
The bsod (in my case) means that I'm pushing a card beyond what it can do end it either locks up in the driver (bsod) or if I'm lucky it stops in userland and it cannot be "connected to" anymore. It's kernel will show 0 hashes.

Best way is to use registry hack + overdriventool to set your per-card profiles. Test them one at a time. And write down everything.

Atm it's a pita I know. Takes time to stabilize if you're not lucky and have cards that manage all settings with ease.

I also have this strange problem with decreasing performance over time. I verified it's not related to temperature.
It also goes away immediately if I restart the miner.

Same here. I have posted twice about the problem and tried everything that was shared as a solution (clean install, max RPM, high power settings, etc.). But no go. Waiting for someone to share a proper solution. I have 12GB RAM and nothing else running on the rig. Very annoying to restart the miner every 18-20 hours after performance deteriorates. Thanks in advance for whoever shares a constructive solution.

Hey guys,

I am thinking of getting 3x Vega 56 for my current rig.
I have some questions:
Will they play nicely with my 2x570(29.5MH/s) + 1x970(17MH/s)?
PSU1: RM650
PSU2: Thermaltake 850W
CPU: 4670k
RAM: 16GB
Miner: Claymore 10 for ETH

Also a big thanks to the community for all these helpful info.

I am running 1 Vega 56 with 3 570s and 2 580s and 1 1060.    I would expect 3 to be ok.  The biggest problem with the Vegas is it requires both 8 pin power cables.  That really complicates power supply selection.   Time to get into server power supplies I guess.

what temp was that? I do an easy 1648/1104 for the same on vega fe for easy 2100 and 2525 max, now the weather is colder I may push it further, running at < 65C, sometime near 60. I like my fans quieter though.

Read some times from a reg file for optimizing. Where i get it?
I am think that there is no such thing like log in stak or cast. But I am pretty sure that if there will be some log like in claymore, many people will appreciate this.
