Allergic to false promises
what about an android widget to show price, always handy to watch my investments
My app for this purpose is Bitcoin Checker, but APEX is not showing at Bittrex or Cryptsy atm.

Bitcoinium already does this. You can list any pair and set how often it updates, and from which exchanges. You can even set alarms so you get an alarm which it reaches a certain threshold. Very useful app/widget.

At this time, we have no reason to believe that staking is broken, as several reports and tests have shown it to be working properly. The estimated stake time shown in the wallet is, like most other PoS coins, an estimate and maybe you have had a bad string of luck. Happens to the best of us. Please keep us informed after another day or so to see if it has worked itself out. Thanks.

Thank you for the answer!
When nothing happened 15 hours later I've started digging deeper and found the source of the problem.

My wallet wasn't enciphered [Settings-Encipher Wallet].
Unfortunately everything seemed ok, with no error or infomessage.

Yes, silly mistake. On the previous screenshot there was yellow lock symbol missing:

So I can confirm, staking works.
I've already received tiny ammount of APEX from staking.

It would be great if the wallet reported wallet encryption missing. Because it untruly writes: staking, as seen on previous screenshot.
Or better to have some staking guide as SilkCoin wallet does [with more comprehensible text step-by-step staking guide than SC has].

Do I understand correctly that after successfully receiving staking money the staked ammount has to "wait" 24hours?
Must be computer running during all that time?

Thanks!

I have tested this on an unlocked wallet, and staking worked as well. Maybe you just had to wait a little longer? As for the staked amount, it becomes available after 110 confirmations, which is almost 2 hours. Hope this information answered your questions. We did not create a guide on staking because there is already a plentiful amount of resources out there if you google it and we felt our energies would be better used elsewhere. However, if it becomes a problem a guide will be posted as a tab on our homepage, and a section added to our ANN OP.

Price on bittrex: 1.8k
Cryptsy: 2.4k with low volume

Looks like cryptsy is becoming irrelevant

If there is a decentralized market place that is released as open source soon by another coin, would you be willing to integrate the code into APEx? One of the best ways to ensure that decentralized markets remain resilient might be to have redundancy where multiple coins run the open source code so that if one coin were to fail catastrophically that there would be backups to go to. This alone would justify the existence of multiple "clones". Maybe the APEx devs could even tinker with the code themselves and try and release updates with unique features.

That is definitely a possibility, and the type of thinking that we like to throw around. Our coin is not set in stone, we WANT it to change because change, like change in life, can be awkward at first but generally healthy and better in the long run. Decentralized markets/exchanges has been one of those holy grails in the crypto community for some time now. It has been used  on several occasions to shake investors of their holdings, and people follow because the idea is appealing in the wake of such instances as the GOX or sharexcoin incidents, among many others. This service would benefit the entire community if done correctly. Most current forms of it is very limited and narrow. The tech has some ways to go. If APEX can get us there and make all current holders stinking rich on the way, all the more better!

Please keep in mind though that there are only so many hours in a day, and we are still rather new and have some catching up to do, as well as our current projects of Tor and multipool. Decentralized market place is something that requires a bit more time, and we will look into it as time allows. Of course, if you know of an open source project, please feel free to let us know.

I really like the concept of this coin. The potential is huge, and I hope the devs keep up their good work.
APEX can litteraly turn in to everything - and that makes it better than any other coin!

Thank you APEX team! Cool

That's the goal! Like all those features or promises from other "hot right now" coins? Let us know, and we'll look into it, see if it's real or just fluff, weigh risk versus reward, and if we think it's the best option, we will work on getting it into our coin. You wouldn't want to buy a laptop if you know it will be obsolete in less than a month, so why buy a coin that will be obsolete before it gets a chance to get anywhere? Animals adapt to their environment, businesses adapt to their market, your coin should adapt to survive as well.

Edit: BTW, I had to look a few times, but I finally see the chameleon in that picture haha. Good one!

Guys, what am I doing wrong??

Yesterday at 5pm deposited 10k APEX to my wallet.
PC running all the time.
24hours later, it started Staking.

From the very first moments Staking promised ~20minutes [and the number was slowly falling down] expected time to earn the reward.
But 7 hours have passed from that moment and no profit from stake was credited. Still staking.

Wallet writes now the expected time is 3minutes...

Image to show the situation.
