Thank you for bringing this back up @sheenshane, a lot has changed towards myself and my ways to this forum. I hope now it can be seen as an improvement towards myself and how I treat Merits and with that, development for the members of our local board as well.

I have recently posted an analysis of how our local board could benefit new boards and how activity there would add up. I included there reference towards how posts, topics, and child boards play a role in it. Check some of it below.


The Philippines local board are among the top 8 with topics and posts and having only one child board. I thought of this as something that could translate towards the addition of child boards, and maybe it could affect how much people would come into bitcointalk and be active. What I wanted there also is that Bitcointalk to be the central forum and everyone who is concerned through cryptocurrency would have an account and discuss all things related to a particular topic, maybe off-topic or Politics and Society.

In summary, I would like to re-apply to become a merit source. Supported by some of the evidence above, hopefully, I could be a great addition to it.

You Ain't fit for merit source. You are eligible IMO on staff or Global Mod on the coming future, you have the quality and a mind of staff.

I fully support mate as our merit source. You have been helpful and active on our local board and our source ain't doing anything at all just meriting here on meta, not like on other local board that their merit sources are active in their locality.

Thanks to @DdmrDdmr for his Analysis – Merit per post per Section/Subsection. I saw lacking merit to our local board and we need you cwrth as a merit source.

I support crwth to be a merit source. We do not have enough merit sources anywhere. I recognize him as a "established member" of the bitcoin forum. What else can we do to support applicants to be merit sources?

Crwth any good news here mate? I've been inactive for about a month and it looks like i missed a lot of bad and good news here in bitcointalk. If I am not mistaken, the last time I am active is when theymos implemented 1 merit requirement to acheive Jr. Member Rank, and he also chose new 36 merit source. Are you one of them? Or maybe not?

Nice! Our country needs a merit source since there are a lot of quality posts but hasn't got any merits. I find some posts very helpful yet it never got anything in return. Thank you for everyone Who supports me, especially those from the start. It has been a long time since the application; it is overwhelming. I'm not sure if I will ever be accepted, I hope that our local board members would be inspired to create more amazing topics that have not yet been touched, especially on our local board.

For the suggestions, I would do my best to be active more on the boards and supporting our fellow men who deserve it. Let's do our best to be better!

Wow, this @theyoungmillionaire guide says it all, no doubt he deserve to be merited more for being some creative and informative in his post creation. My opinion, topic should be pinned for easy accessibility by newbies, it will help them a lot.

crwth, keep up the good work, I love the zeal. The 10 topics you highlighted are all quality posts but to proof your point more and convince others (although you have already conceived me) I advice you draft out another 10 topics that deserve merits to prove your points (more) that you deserve to be appointed a merit source because of your ability to spot quality posts. Hope your desire get fulfilled.

I also wonder what are their basis in order for you to qualify on the said position. Plus what is taking so long if they haven't decided yet or if they think that you don't qualify then they must have sent you a message regarding with this application.

Theymos did also announced a 36? new merit source along with the new restrictions, I wonder who are they or is there a way to know who are the merit sources as of now? Well, to be honest I'm still expecting that your request would be granted.

Worst come to worst, I hope that other kabayan's would step up and do what you did. If only I have the courage, knowledge, and/or self-esteem to do it, I would but I'm still not that confident though. I hope that 1 or 2 of those new merit source are Filipinos, though let's just think positive sooner or later theymos could look into this and grant OPs request. Good luck!

Hopefully, the reality is near. As of now, still not accepted. Tried to check it out by trying to give in to the local board, still no avail.

There are a lot of possible members who are worthy to be merit sources in our board. If I'm not accepted, then that's just it, I hope others step up so we could help improve our local board more, not only regular posts should be done but more activity with quality.

I'm still hoping that @theyoungmillionaire will also apply as a merit source here in our local board, I'm surely he/she will be automatically accepted.

I know many profiles asking how to be a merit source, after checking their account (probably full of shitposts), I ask myself if they're really serious with it? Based on their shitposts, i mean posts, you can conclude that they're not responsible to handle this position. As of now, crwth is the only one deserves to be a merit source because of his/her integrity and responsibility as one of the members of the community. (Well, I won't forget @theyoungmillionaire, we know that you're amazing and overqualified  )

These members are so hungry to receive merits pushing them to create a long high quality plagiarized posts. and I see a lot of them and it is sad that few of these people comes from our own country. I think I should be making a post regarding the increasing cases of plagiarizing content in our local this might confuse people which/ what posts should be merited, I don't want these merits to fall in quality plagiarizer peoples.

Welcome kabayan! Well it is just my opinion and I just stated what I see because of your actions. It just amazes me on how others followed you because of your vision and great thinkings. Am I the only one who notices that when you talk in the forum, people always listen to what you are talking about. And it seems that you are spreading the aura of being a great member, I don't know, maybe, because you rarely post now in this community but it doesn't matter as long as you are saying something there are people who are always ready to listen.

I am always willing to help and back up people in our local board especially if it is part in furtherance of growth in the Philippines local board. However, all I can do is to assist, inspired, and tell others about what we can do to our community, not the decision-making person (theymos endorsement - that is awesome).

Merit source is not a Celebrity stuff that you need to be famous to be qualified as one. When I am finding posts that are merit worthy, I end up reporting plagiarism case, which I can see that being a merit source is not that easy. You need to find more quality posts that are not plagiarize. Amidst this shitposter spree, I appreciate what our current merit source are doing – having the time to find quality posters (Good Job guys!).

I think you deserved to be a merit source on local thread of Philippines. Also we should have people like you who exert a lot of efforts to impart knowledge and help all newbies. I'm just a newbie and probably hoping to be somehow like you. Kudos! Hope they approved you.

Wow! both of you really supported me! Well, I will try collecting 10 high-quality post that has not been merited for a while. This is will be a long and challenging run for me. For now, I will just support my fellow members in our local cause I think I am not ready yet

I also realized that I am willing to apply if and only if I have theyoungmillionaire's endorsement as a merit source in our local section LOL. THAT WILL BE AWESOME. Anyways, why he/ she is not applying in our local board. theyoungmillionaire is one of the most famous public figure in this community, I must say that he/ she is overqualified.
