Newb question incoming!

I feel like I've been looking and researching Ardor for ages but still don't understand the basic idea of BAAS. Why would a business want their own block chain and currency?  How does this idea transit into the real world? Is it just a way for new projects to gain from ICO crowdfunding? Is it a way for the business to take on its own currency that would be viewed as shares for its employees and/or shareholders? Can these businesses add and store data safely on their respective chains?

The only thing I can think of is having an immutable ledger for resource allocation. But I'm not sure what kind of company would need this outsourced. Smaller companies shouldn't need that type of book-keeping, and larger ones would probably be able to have this done cheaper themselves, or am I missing something?

Undecided I'm back with another question regarding the Ardor wallet 0.6.4 residing at Play store. This one doesn't mention test-net and says early preview release. Maybe I'm expecting too much but believed the ten ARDR might arrive without any fuss. Nothing there after 30 minutes. If you could please follow up on this by using this receiving address from the new wallet and exchange shows complete (Bittrex). Have a relaxed weekend, here's my address: NXT-QUEC-WEHK-V55Y-2LXFX

Dude, that website looks awfully scammy. I suggest you edit you post to remove the link - that just helps them. Definitively don't install anything from there.

If you mean the "ardor lite" app from MrV777 - then I think it's just a test and will run on testnet. Do not use it yet (though it is a legit project in the making).
The other app I see is the "freewallet" one, and it's kinda strange. The example address it shows isn't in the NXT format. Again, be cautious. I'll check in the NXT slack if anyone knows those apps. Ardor isn't live yet, so a standalone wallet already is unusual.

You can use the official client. There are light versions and an official Android client from Jelurida.

As for your NXT address: I see a valid ARDOR transaction there.

Hi. Maybe a stupid question but does this do exactly? Thank you in advance

No doubt, it was a stupid question.  Cheesy

It maybe but I'm new to this concept. But I'm sure shroomskit can help with the answer

You can head to https://www.ardorplatform.org to read the basics, and also to https://jelurida.com for information from the developers and demo nodes. But essentially Ardor is a new platform that will allow users to create custom blockchains including some or all of the existing features in Nxt, and any other new features that may be added down the road.

I have looked into the the NXT forum and a question came up that unfortunately isn't answered here or there:

Has the Ardor software testing (on the testnet) finished or will there be other test versions (e.g. because there are still problems or missing features)?

The last Ardor test version I saw is v2.0.3e, but it is around a really long while already (April 1, according to this thread.) That could indicate that Ardor is basically finished, but a confirmation from a developer or an "insider" would be cool Wink

Quote from Riker (core dev) from slack: "There will be at least one more testnet release for ardor before mainet to introduce smart phasing and asset control."

When is everything going to be ready for main net? And what are the results from the testing you conducted thus far?

Official timeline for the Ardor release will be published by the end of next week (October 14th). Testing on testnet is only for finding bugs, but latest version works without big flaws. Next version will introduce new features, as core dev said.

thanks mate. Where do they provide most of the info? Here on this thread?

Most active place is Nxt slack, invitation is at https://nxtchat.herokuapp.com/

"SWISSREALCOIN - FIRST REAL ESTATE CRYPTO TOKEN"
Do you really think that the price for 1 ARDR may be 1$ for one year? I just want to buy here and ask.

I'm new to Crypto
It looks like a very good price
is it worthwhile investing in this project?

it is a nice project and the price is really good now , however better read the whitepaper of the project then go see the chart on coinmarketcap , study the project by yourself and then decide if it's better to buy now or wait a little longer.
